Particulars On ARROW's Flash And Nyssa al Ghul

Will Flash (Grant Gustin) still visit Starling City in episode 20? What about Ra's al Ghul's other daughter, Nyssa - how does her depiction relate to Tahlia? Plus, a mini scoop regarding the season 2 island flashbacks.

Arrow Nyssa al Ghul Barry Allen

Arrow is still currently filming the second season so the storyline could change significantly. However, I'm hearing there will be major developments between Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Slade (Manu Bennett) in the back-half of season 2. At the end of the second season, Oliver may find himself alone on the island, opening up the possibility for more characters to train and combat the vigilante-in-training in Season 3.

But back to season 2, Spoiler TV reports that the Arrow staff are still trying to determine what to do in episode 20, now that Barry Allen will get his own standalone pilot. Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg told the site, “What happened in Central City at the end of [the fall finale] was certainly big news. Right now, we’re focusing hard on writing the Flash pilot and breaking the rest of the season of Arrow. But hopefully there will be some synchronicity between the two [shows], in anticipation of getting to see more of Grant [Gustin] and The Flash." I understand that synchronicity could come in the form of the frequent background television reports on Arrow which will highlight the early exploits of the Scarlet Speedster in Central City. That means keep your eyes open whenever one of the televisions are on a news cast and listen very carefully.

Elsewhere, TV Guide has the scoop on Nyssa Al Ghul's guest spot, played by Spartacus alum, Katrina Law. TVG reports, "Arrow's version of Nyssa (Katrina Law), who is sent to hunt down Sara Lance, will be similar to her sister Talia al Ghul." Kreisberg told them, "She's the next wave of the League of Assassins that comes to Starling City. She's certainly exotic, beautiful and smart. She has some interesting secrets as well." The site also adds that Law was nearly cast as Shado (Celina Jade) but the producers felt the Spartacus connection would have been too strong. Look for Nyssa to make her presence felt in episode 2x13 "Heir of the Demon" which will air on February 5th.

Arrow returns from mid-season hiatus on January 15th.

"After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. When he returns home to Starling City, his devoted mother Moira, much-beloved sister Thea, and best friend Tommy welcome him home, but they sense Oliver has been changed by his ordeal on the island. While Oliver hides the truth about the man he’s become, he desperately wants to make amends for the actions he took as the boy he was. Most particularly, he seeks reconciliation with his former girlfriend, Laurel Lance. As Oliver reconnects with those closest to him, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow – a vigilante – to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and restore Starling City to its former glory. By day, Oliver plays the role of a wealthy, carefree and careless philanderer he used to be – flanked by his devoted chauffeur/bodyguard, John Diggle – while carefully concealing the secret identity he turns to under cover of darkness. However, Laurel’s father, Detective Quentin Lance, is determined to arrest the vigilante operating in his city. Meanwhile, Oliver’s own mother, Moira, knows much more about the deadly shipwreck than she has let on – and is more ruthless than he could ever imagine."

carrowsboy - 12/18/2013, 3:23 AM
But what about Solomon Grundy?
jp688 - 12/18/2013, 3:27 AM
Her name is not "Nyssa al Ghul, because "al Ghul" is not a surname. It is part of an entire moniker that was bestowed upon a man by others that means "Demon's head". WB, do your homework! It would be like calling The Flash's daughter "Nyssa Flash", or Green Arrow's daughter "Nyssa Arrow". Stupid, like the show.
Theaj13 - 12/18/2013, 3:30 AM
Love this show. Zero complaints. The only thing I hope is the writers find other means of trouble for Oliver to wind up in. How many times can he be shot or poisoned. He's been on the edge of death four or five times already.
jp688 - 12/18/2013, 3:33 AM
Her name is Nyssa Raatko, not Nyssa al Ghul. "Ra's al Ghul" (Demon's head") is the name her father gave himself after his first trip to the Lazarus pit. His real name is a mystery, but there are theories...
loki668 - 12/18/2013, 3:34 AM
Just show us the damn Flash costume already!!!
jp688 - 12/18/2013, 3:37 AM
Talia is not an al Ghul either. Her name is, simply, Talia, (like Charro or Cher, or Yanni).
AEStark - 12/18/2013, 3:38 AM
@jp All I saw as I read your comments was comic book guy from The Simpsons.
loki668 - 12/18/2013, 3:41 AM

MightyZeus - 12/18/2013, 3:42 AM
I really hope 'The Flash' costume does not look cheap.
MagnusRex22 - 12/18/2013, 4:00 AM
Idk why y'all are freaking out about the name. Talia is usually referred to as Talia al Ghul or Talia Head in the comics. And with Nyssa? They're just trying to keep everything consistent. The average viewer of the show doesn't know what we know and would be confused by the different name. Not a big deal. Just be glad we get to see these characters in some form of live action.
codydriscollsrightarm - 12/18/2013, 4:20 AM
People are freaking out about the name because people are goddamn morons.

That's all really.

Prime - 12/18/2013, 4:21 AM
That is one pretty lady.
TheSpaceGhost - 12/18/2013, 5:00 AM
Typo: Talia is written like this.
KraftB0X - 12/18/2013, 5:01 AM
Really, CBM? No pic spam of Katrina Law? Get started!!! :3
TheGreenGusblin - 12/18/2013, 5:15 AM
CherryBomb - 12/18/2013, 5:21 AM
Great choice for Nyssa!
And I think it's great they're including her. It's a lesser known character that deserves some attention.
soforizo - 12/18/2013, 5:26 AM
I'm glad Katrina didn't get the Shado role, the chick playing her has done a great job plus she looks like she could have an Asian heritage unlike Katrina.
UncleBurnsie - 12/18/2013, 5:33 AM
Lol Jesus man when was the last time you went to the dentist??
shadearts - 12/18/2013, 5:34 AM
Big deal Talia is often referred to as Talia al Ghul and I don't really hear yall bitchin about that I bet if Nolan called her Nyssa Al Ghul y'all be creaming in your pants saying we love you Nolan the comics are wrong
thenerdicon4 - 12/18/2013, 5:49 AM
Wow, some people will find anything to hate about this show. I think it's funny that the only thing he can use to put down the show the "wrong name" of a character. This show is awesome. I love the changes they are making to the show, while I like comic versions as well, the arrow versions of these characters are in the same level for me. Pretty damn good. But I guess that is my opinion on something. Someone is gonna tell me I am
charlie2094 - 12/18/2013, 6:07 AM
Awesome, the first half of season two was fantastic, can't wait to see more! The developments between Oliver and Slade should be great, not to mention the likes of Solomon Grundy and the League of Assassins...brilliant show!
MarvelousAgentX - 12/18/2013, 6:12 AM
Arrow is such a slow witted show. There is no depth to any of the characters, in fact the only character that they ever delve into is the Queenie guy and he is dull witted also. No wonder this show is on the CW.
thenerdicon4 - 12/18/2013, 6:18 AM
I respectfully disagree agent x.
JoeMomma29 - 12/18/2013, 6:19 AM
LOL! I sense some jealousy and hate in this thread! Sorry guys Arrow is the best CBTVS right now.
JoeMomma29 - 12/18/2013, 6:19 AM
MarvelousAgentX is upset because he is still waiting for an actual Hero or Villain to show up in Agents of Something!
GAThrawnIGF - 12/18/2013, 6:28 AM
@jp688: Wow, actually do the intelligent thing and read some comics. The comics have been calling her Talia AL GHUL since her inception, that's how she's always been listed on character sheets in every game and TV series. Also, Nyssa AL GHUL was in the comics too a long time ago, and it's not WB's fault at all or "the stupid show".
ndwwrestler2 - 12/18/2013, 6:30 AM
All I have to say is we need a Deathstroke vs Arrow fight like this:
JoeMomma29 - 12/18/2013, 6:31 AM

You know you could use thing called Google or Wiki or heck go to DC.Com and look up the characters.
MarvelousAgentX - 12/18/2013, 6:32 AM
First, Green Arrow is not a Super Hero, there is nothing Super about him, just another rich guy with toys.
Second, Shield is a much deeper show with characters who grow and develop and mature. Thea, same whiny cow, Laurel, same whiny cow, Smoake, went from IT tech to personal assistant, really????, Moira, same whiny woman, Diggle token black, shallow and so far, useless, Queenie, dumb party boy turned wildcard, there is a reason they never show him actually doing anything other than fighting, because he sucks at everything else.
Lastly, Shiels is not a Super Hero show, it is a show about a multi faceted government agency. Shield does not have Super work for them, but sometimes works with them.
soforizo - 12/18/2013, 6:35 AM

Welcome to! Here's an avatar you can add to your newly created profile:

Here's another pic, if you prefer a full-body shot.

Enjoy your stay!
JoeMomma29 - 12/18/2013, 6:36 AM
@ MarvelousAgentX

So I guess you must feel the same way about Batman!! You are an idiot, Oh yeah if Shield is not a super hero show and is a agent shield then why did they promote it this way?

UncleBurnsie - 12/18/2013, 6:39 AM
^whiny cow lol I'm gonna have to use that one at the company X-Mas party tonight.
ndwwrestler2 - 12/18/2013, 6:41 AM
*sigh* Can we stop with the A.O.S comparisons? It's obvious that Arrow is a superior show, but I remember a couple episodes in to season 1, people were ready to give up on the show.

A.O.S still has time to grow. Will it be as good as Arrow? Unless they bring in Joss Whedon as a full time writer, it's not going to be better. But it still has a chance to do pretty good, as they learn where they want to go with the show.

UncleBurnsie - 12/18/2013, 6:42 AM
Because their shameless whiny cows.
