Stephen Amell Teases The Remaining 14 Episodes Of ARROW Season 2

Stephen Amell Teases The Remaining 14 Episodes Of ARROW Season 2

"We don’t say a character’s name unless that character is going to factor in. We don’t hint at something unless we’re going to pay it off," says Oliver Queen actor Stephen Amell on the remaining episodes of Arrow season 2.

Stephen Amell spoke to Spoiler TV about what the rest of season 2 has in store for viewers. On episodes focusing on the supporting cast, Amell stated, "Some of our best episodes in our second season have been episodes where I wasn’t really the primary focus. Episode 6 was very much David Ramsey’s episode. Episode 8 is Grant Gustin’s episode as Barry Allen. Episode 11 is very much Katie Cassidy’s episode. Episode 13 is very much the Lance family. And I’m talking about episodes that we haven’t gotten to yet. But building the world is important because [...] one person cannot carry a show. We have a phenomenal supporting cast, and giving them more to do makes my life way better.”

But just where is season 2 headed? Is it towards a showdown with Slade (Manu Bennett)? Or will Malcolm (John Barrowman) step out of the shadows? "We don’t say a character’s name unless that character is going to factor in," teased Amell. He continued, "We don’t hint at something unless we’re going to pay it off. So I know that at the end of episode 14, we end in a spot where we get our first glimpse on where we are going to end after 23 episodes. That’s what I’m most excited about because I want people to see it. What we are building towards in the second season is very much one giant group on one side and one giant group on the other side and just, [a collision of groups], coming head‑to‑head. So we are populating our world in the second season for a very specific reason, and I can’t wait to see the results.”

Very interesting. Oliver's camp is already full with Roy (Colton Haynes), Diggle (Ramsey) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards), although the latter isn't a fighter. Assuming Slade leads the other group, along with Brother Blood (Kevin Alejandro), who gets added to their roster? Chyna White (Kelly Hu) and Bronze Tiger (Michael Jai White) are not completely out of the picture and Ra's Al Ghul's daughter is on the way, played by Spartacus alum Katrina Law. Arrow returns from mid-season hiatus tomorrow with episode 2x10. We'll need four more weeks to get to episode 14 and see just where season 2's endgame is headed per Amell's hint. "After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. When he returns home to Starling City, his devoted mother Moira, much-beloved sister Thea, and best friend Tommy welcome him home, but they sense Oliver has been changed by his ordeal on the island. While Oliver hides the truth about the man he’s become, he desperately wants to make amends for the actions he took as the boy he was. Most particularly, he seeks reconciliation with his former girlfriend, Laurel Lance. As Oliver reconnects with those closest to him, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow – a vigilante – to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and restore Starling City to its former glory. By day, Oliver plays the role of a wealthy, carefree and careless philanderer he used to be – flanked by his devoted chauffeur/bodyguard, John Diggle – while carefully concealing the secret identity he turns to under cover of darkness. However, Laurel’s father, Detective Quentin Lance, is determined to arrest the vigilante operating in his city. Meanwhile, Oliver’s own mother, Moira, knows much more about the deadly shipwreck than she has let on – and is more ruthless than he could ever imagine."

SUPERSHADOWBAT - 1/14/2014, 3:46 AM
It's going to be great to see where these second half of this season of Arrow takes us.How Oliver handles the role of hero and eventually as a mentor to Roy. Hopefully we will see Roy gear up as Arsenal and other DC characters come in to play. I can see Slade being the leader of the other side and Malcolm clashing with him for leadership. Great show.
JoJo1982 - 1/14/2014, 3:50 AM
So I guess Ras al ghul will pop in the show then

JoeMomma29 - 1/14/2014, 6:03 AM
They are going to do a Suicide Squad for sure, if they do Birds of Prey I hope they do it correctly and not like that piece of crap show they tried in the past.

Yay just one more day!!!!!!!
27ShowStopper - 1/14/2014, 6:05 AM
When I was reading this, I didn't think, OMG Ollies gonna fight Slade. I thought, OMG Ras is coming!
27ShowStopper - 1/14/2014, 6:08 AM
I really hope this amazing show connects to the DCCU. I originally thought it would be kept CW exclusive and Gotham would connect to the movies. But after Fox announced Gotham will not connect, it only makes sense to connect Arrow and Flash. Arrow is too damn good to not be a world builder.
ThanToast - 1/14/2014, 6:18 AM
DC would be stupid not to include this in their movie universe. You have a well received show from fans (and I think?) critics alike, it's a safe way to include the character in a future JL movie, instead of risking a solo film to build up the character.
BlackFlask - 1/14/2014, 6:24 AM
Can't wait till tomorrow's episode. I don't think we've seen the last of Cyrus Gold (Grundy)
Jhuntdaprodigy - 1/14/2014, 6:32 AM
ARGUS, The League Of Shadows, and The HIVE are all going to play big roles in this show I would think.
Nomis - 1/14/2014, 6:44 AM

SUPERSHADOWBAT - 1/14/2014, 6:56 AM
Arrow should definitely connect to the DCCU, it has proven to be a quality show. It only improves with each episode. @No is, nice one! that pic connects to the show well.
MarvelousAgentX - 1/14/2014, 7:01 AM
Glad it's back. It should be a fun ride of popcorn entertainment.
GeekyCheekyChic - 1/14/2014, 8:05 AM

HecticHector - 1/14/2014, 8:09 AM
Man, this is turning out to be AWESOME!

We just need more Flash!
TheSisko - 1/14/2014, 8:31 AM
Awful show, awful actor. Moving on.
RyGoR - 1/14/2014, 8:31 AM
This is some great news!!!! Even if its just him hinting the possibilities are endless!!!

Anyone know if Grant Gustin will be back at all this second half??? We might see him helping Oliver ya never know!!!
TheSisko - 1/14/2014, 8:35 AM
@kevwebsv do not associate a superior Hugo award nominated show with the mediocre drivel that is Arrow.
CaptainAmerica - 1/14/2014, 8:56 AM
Lmfao! Get him Duke!
JoeMomma29 - 1/14/2014, 9:40 AM
@ RyGor

They were planning on putting the Flash in one more episode towards the end of the season as a backend pilot but they scrapped that because they response for the Flash is was great.
MarvelousAgentX - 1/14/2014, 10:51 AM
Arrow is not an awful show. It is a good show, a show with lots of action and fighting, really some of the best choreographed fights I have ever seen on TV. Not awful, good.

@TheSisko....aren´t you moving on from this or what???

Couldn't we ask you the same thing about just about every article about SHIELD????
thecuban007 - 1/14/2014, 12:06 PM
I really want Roy to become Red Arrow and die..maybe be killed by Oliver's character becomes less willing to work with others and a lot more introverted because he'd blame himself for whathappened to Roy...I think it would bring a lot more depth to the character
newmutantsRETURNS - 1/14/2014, 2:16 PM
@sisko you are just as shitty as the shittiest captain in star trek lore....your name fits...
MrArtistic1 - 1/14/2014, 6:56 PM
