Another Green Lantern Movie Action Figure Revealed: Rot Lop Fan!

Another Green Lantern Movie Action Figure Revealed: Rot Lop Fan!

Unbelievably, another action figure from the upcoming movie has been leaked online, and this time it's the blind Green Lantern of Space Sector 911, Rot Lop Fan...

Rot Lop Fan is a member of the Green Lantern Corps, known to him as the "F-Sharp Bell Corps". He is blind and uses a power ring based upon the principles of sound. Rot Lop Fan protects Space Sector 911 and hails from the Obsidian Deeps. The Obsidian Deeps is a black and lightless void in a remote section of space. As a means of adapting to the lightless void, the inhabitants of the Deeps have evolved an advanced sense of hearing, while at the same time losing their sense of sight. Among the blind creatures of the Deeps was Rot Lop Fan, a brave and noble member of his people and an ideal candidate for the Green Lantern Corps. Rot Lop Fan was approached by Katma Tui to join the Corps and serve as a Green Lantern; however, her request was meaningless to the blind alien. Being blind, Rot Lop Fan had no concept of light or color. The terms "green" and "lantern" had no meaning to him, and could not be translated by the power ring. The resourceful Katma Tui reasoned that if she could not explain the concepts of light, she would translate using sound. She instructed Rot Lop Fan to imagine a sound with a pleasing resonance. This he did, as a sound in the F-Sharp range. With the concept of sound, Rot Lop Fan could manipulate the energy of the power ring. Rot Lop Fan was overjoyed and accepted the commission into the Corps.

Here are the links to the other action figures that we have revealed so far this week here on CBM as well as the upcoming video game adaptation.

I think They're pretty cool. The action figures are going to sell like the original Star Wars figures did. Every kid will have to have every Green Lantern mamber.

God, seeing these makes me want to start collecting action figures again. If they're 6" I just might. I miss Marvel Legends, can't wait til 2012 when Hasbro gets back on the ball with that.

Rot Lop Fan is one of my personal favourites. Such a cool idea.

I'm not too pleased with these figures, looks like some Matel crap like the ones for Superman Returns. This one's emblem seems different... not the classic Green Lantern symbol or are my eyes playing tricks on me? Oh I just read the description... never mind.

Thanks LEE, but I've got to agree with ZombieOverEasy - these things look so damned cool, it makes me want to start buying action figures again and having my own personal collection of Green Lantern Corps. :)

I am beginning to imagine just what the DVD special features for GL will be. The possibilities seem infinite for what could be included. Of course I am getting ahead of myself 'cos the movie has not even come out yet.

History: Katma Tui was sent by the Guardians of the Universe to a lightless region of space known as the Obsidian Deeps, in order to recruit a new Green Lantern to protect that region of space. Despite the absolute darkness of the Deeps, Katma's power ring led her unerringly to a completely fearless and honest resident of the Deeps: Rot Lop Fan. Unfortunately, when she offered him a power ring, she couldn't explain to him how the ring works (by projecting beams of light, controlled by the wearer's willpower and imagination), because Rot Lop Fan had no experience with or understanding of light, having no sense of sight.

After some consideration, Katma reshaped the power ring from a lantern into a bell, and describes the Green Lanterns as the F-Sharp Bell Corps and the ring's powers in terms of sound instead of light. Having solved this dilemma, Katma leaves Rot Lop Fan to protect his people.

This would look awesome on top of my Snake Mountain, in an epic battle against Beast Man, A Dino-Rider, and 80's color change Zatarn.

Meh...looks like a cross between "Cloverfield" monster and 1950's "War of the Worlds" Martians. No matter how cool the peripheral characters of the "GL" movie are, you can bank on Ryan Reynolds delivering a major ass-bomb.

Still waiting for "Hollywood" and many fans to wake-up and realize that any film featuring either Ryan Reynolds, Nicholas Cage, and/or Adrian Brody is crap and has little or no chance of being taken seriously.
greenlanter13 - 1/3/2011, 7:42 PM
wow some people hating and have never read a GL comic if you never have then why you talking to much but oh well i think it looks cool and every comic movie out there makes movie and games just like iron man 2 and hulk so its not just dc intruder its also marvel both companies do it
dnno1 - 1/3/2011, 7:56 PM
Because they are not really Green Lantern fans. They are Marvel fans.
