More New Green Lantern Movie Artwork Featuring Hal Jordan Revealed!

More New Green Lantern Movie Artwork Featuring Hal Jordan Revealed!

Hit the jump to see Hal Jordan in his Green Lantern attire taking flight and another shot of something we've not seen before - him charging his ring using the lantern...

In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan.

Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. But Hal is clearly the missing piece to the puzzle, and along with his determination and willpower, he has one thing no member of the Corps has ever had: humanity. With the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Blake Lively), if Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax…he will become the greatest Green Lantern of all.

Thanks to "He-Man" on the SuperHeroHype Forums for spotting these pictures of the upcoming range of kids tie-in books and sharing them with us online. There are still no specific details available about these books, but I think the artwork is cool enough on its own regardless.

Green Lantern is set to be released in 3D on June 17 later this year, starring Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively and Mark Strong!

ceramyctyle - 1/8/2011, 3:09 PM
Diggin' it! Looks way better with the green a bit darker. Is it just me, or does the mask look a little better here?
ceramyctyle - 1/8/2011, 3:11 PM
Oh I dunno, probably when they actually start production maybe?
DaenerysTargaryen - 1/8/2011, 3:11 PM

dahamma - 1/8/2011, 3:16 PM
THese are drop dead AWESOME especially the bottom one. I'm thrown off though, why do I like these which are for kids book better than official movie shots?
DaenerysTargaryen - 1/8/2011, 3:16 PM
I'm definitely getting these books for my little sister (whose a green lantern fan and thankfully in the age range of these book) ;)
wonderme - 1/8/2011, 3:17 PM

Shunt - 1/8/2011, 3:17 PM
nothing against GL.. he's a awesome character & i hope this movie is a success,, its just that im really hoping they green light The Flash asap... the money they wasted on Jonah Hex could have been used to finance The Flash or Wonder Woman.. smh..
Angelus - 1/8/2011, 3:18 PM
@ Indoraptor12 - Some dude on youtube has stolen my fanmadetrailer and claims I stole it off him.
Xandera - 1/8/2011, 3:28 PM

The second picture in the article should have the oath on it!
DaenerysTargaryen - 1/8/2011, 3:39 PM

BruceWayneNewton - 1/8/2011, 3:46 PM
This looks amazing. Those pictures just got me really excited about this movie again. Can't wait to see this. I'm guessing it will be at least as good as Thor if not better.
Great stuff Josh
superotherside - 1/8/2011, 3:47 PM
@cool stuff @josh!
jazzman - 1/8/2011, 3:49 PM
these look good as the artwork but it does not match up to the trailer. them images make the suit llook ike its a proper suit not a cgi suit
GinGuilt - 1/8/2011, 3:55 PM

It looks EXACTLY like the second one! nice!

And btw,do you guys know why these pieces are so awesome? Because they don't look nothing with Ryan Reynolds. #ohyeahisaidit
TheActionAce - 1/8/2011, 3:56 PM
That looks amazing

the mask looks way better and the colour of the costume as well

hopefully the movie is aswell
Shunt - 1/8/2011, 3:57 PM
Yea.. second Picture does look really awesome.. too bad its not actual still photos from the film.. I hope they are still fine tuning the cgi suit to look like these art photos.. cause green lantern looks HARDCORE in some of these art photos.. future is looking bright for us DC fans..
JoshWilding - 1/8/2011, 3:59 PM
Thanks guys. :) I hope the costume ends up looking exactly like this in the movie. The trailer was fantastic, but the suit was almost lime green in some places...this is much better looking.
GinGuilt - 1/8/2011, 3:59 PM
And you are right, the second pic looks a lot like Kyle Rayner. But awesome, nevertheless.

And GOD,I laugh 'till I cry everytime a read a "In Johns we trust!" or "This is way better than anything Marvel(or DC) delivered so far!"

I mean,grow the f up.
batzack - 1/8/2011, 4:06 PM
Is it just me or does his right arm look a little .... Funny ?
Elhemian - 1/8/2011, 4:26 PM
I like the first one. The second looks like he has a T-Rex little arm.
marvel72 - 1/8/2011, 4:42 PM
sorry but they're not that great, there okay at best.
GinGuilt - 1/8/2011, 4:42 PM

I like Dc more than Marvel. I just love comics. All of them. All of the good ones,at least.
IronicMan - 1/8/2011, 4:48 PM
TOTALLY getting those paper models!
For my five-year old cousin, that is...
ComradeGrey - 1/8/2011, 4:59 PM
I wish Ryan Reynolds could actually be as serious about the role as these drawings make him look. Sadly, I have the sneaking suspicion we're going to get a bad Tony Stark impression. Here's hoping I'm wrong...
Creature - 1/8/2011, 5:00 PM
Something about the suit irks me.
greenlanter13 - 1/8/2011, 5:22 PM
Looks really cool man I can't wait for GL movie
EpicMovieFan - 1/8/2011, 5:22 PM
kakinurmawth - 1/8/2011, 5:30 PM
I'm hoping that the suit only has those weird lines on it because the ring makes a suit fitted for the being wearing the ring (Abin Sur's skin looks like the suit) so I hope the ring eventually gives the suit a more smoother look to it since human skin doesn't have that ridge like just looks weird IMO. Every time I see Hal my attention is pulled away from him to that jarring suit....meh...maybe I'll get over it when i see the film.
kakinurmawth - 1/8/2011, 5:31 PM
If the story doesn't blow, I think I'll look past the suit.
UncleDrew - 1/8/2011, 6:17 PM
vermillion - 1/8/2011, 6:59 PM
Second picture is AWESOME!
DDD - 1/8/2011, 7:10 PM
This is cool for kids!

I wonder why all the drawn/painted illustrations
have the suit darker green but the trailer obviously
had a lighter more plastic look to it?

I hope that trailer isn't the finished product
for the suit cuz it was looking awfully rubbery!
I thought it was supposed to be all CGI?
odinson11 - 1/8/2011, 7:28 PM
The 1st pic is cool but the second picture is ULTRA GAY they need to losen up those nut huggers
