New Green Lantern Set Photos

New Green Lantern Set Photos

More images have surfaced from when Ryan Reynolds was filming a fight scene in New Orleans, follow the jump to take a peak...

PopSugar has just posted these photos of Ryan Reynolds on the set of Green Lantern. Ryan, who portrays hero Hal Jordan in the film, was shooting a scene while sporting his iconic Lantern ring.

Be sure to click on the images to view them full sized:

Though the content and filming location of the scene we're listed, they appear to be more photos of the fight scene filmed during the first week. Ryan is wearing the same wardrobe and has similar bruising/makeup on his face. If you look closely, you can see that the Green Lantern ring has a metallic shine and green tint to it; which may disprove the assumptions that the silver production logo being used in the actual ring design. Also, the blue car stationed behind Ryan appears to have stunt wires rigged to it (maybe).

Either way, it's always a great sight to see Ryan in action bring the fan favorite superhero to life!

Veddy good, padawan.
Faust1973 - 4/20/2010, 12:33 PM thing...well, two, can you even make OUT the ring? And, if it HAS a metallic finish with a green tint to it, then it WOULD be similar to the logo being used in production...?

RorMachine - 4/20/2010, 12:54 PM
Can't make out the ring too well, but I wouldn't mind the logo design that much really, the costume is the most important thing. I'm kinda ok with the cgi least I am until I see what it looks like!

IRONRED - 4/20/2010, 12:55 PM
You can actually see the ring in Hal's finger ... cool.
ClintEastwood - 4/20/2010, 1:14 PM
I think it's the bar fight scene where he fights John Stewart.
JoshWilding - 4/20/2010, 1:27 PM
I honestly dont think this movie will have a chance against Thor! :P

Guys, check out my ASSASSIN'S CREED II Fan Cast!!! Just click the link!!! :)
TheUnHasseled - 4/20/2010, 1:29 PM
these are from the first week of shooting... that same locale and fight scene... not from last night... my buddy works on the production and he was at the stage last night... Also... John Stewart isn't in the film... I heard that Nick Jones guy is just a background extra who took a pic with Ryan and is playing up his involvement after the rumor started circulating. This comes from a guy working the crew... not my speculation...
TDKR11 - 4/20/2010, 1:51 PM
Man, I can't believe we can get soooo much pics from the Green Lantern movie, but nothing from Thor at all. other then a bunch of trucks that are part of the movie set.

@JoshW I honestly believe Green Lantern has a chance to beat Thor.
SKetCH - 4/20/2010, 2:00 PM
HAPPY 420!!!!!!!!!!!!!
JLanphear - 4/20/2010, 2:08 PM
CAN'T WAIT to see some official footage from this film. They're FLYING through filming right now. :D
JoshWilding - 4/20/2010, 2:08 PM
TDKR11: You could be right and I think a big part of that will come down to the fact that Green Lantern is seemingly a CGI heavy 3D movie which after Avatar might just appeal to a larger audience!

As for which will actually be the better movie...I think that Thor will win that one! :)

Angelus - 4/20/2010, 4:03 PM
This is good! THIS IS GOOD!!!! He looks exactly like Hal from Rebirth, the last pages, right after the akward talk with Batman. Just look at it! "He's right, isn't he?" says Hal, and I gotta say, IM RIGHT!!!!! THIS MOVIE IS GOING TO KICK SOME MARVEL AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASS!
DaenerysTargaryen - 4/20/2010, 4:16 PM
Ryan reynolds is awesome.
OverCross - 4/20/2010, 4:37 PM
AHA! I see the ring in the 2nd one

You can tell he's trying to hide it in the last 3

Good man
Bzzd - 4/20/2010, 6:45 PM
Hmm...I hope they keep his hair combed like Hal always has it.

Thanks MultiPurposePoni!
Wadey09 - 4/20/2010, 9:59 PM
i love that last pic!
it's like Ryan's trying to say: "Uh-Uh! You gotta be kiddin me!"

hey Multi, check out Spider-man Part IV in Fan Fic!
this story is taking me forever, but i like it!
Angelus - 4/21/2010, 3:34 AM
Gotta a agree on Thor. The concept is hard to sell. Green Lantern has a really human background. DC is gonna kick Marvel!
thegreek - 4/21/2010, 8:46 AM
Multi - Still great stuff....

All i have to say about the Marvel fanboys is that they can always Complain SUPERMAN is to strong and his stories suck ... But then they can turn around and say Thor can beat Superman ... Hulk can beat Superman ... Sentry can beat Superman ... SO i am confused is Superman so strong and can't relate... or is it the other way around... Logic would dictate that Superman based on what people think of him could beat all three.... But everyone is quick to say that he can't ... Such hypocrisy is so bothersome... Because if they can beat him then THEY can't relate and thus their stories suck ... So com'on guys

Again my opinion ... But i don't care if it pissed anyone off... :-P
darkneo - 4/21/2010, 9:59 AM
He could be wearing one of DC's promotion rings as a prop focus I suppose. As for the blue sedan, I think that is the radio antennae on the back left area.
Faust1973 - 4/21/2010, 2:19 PM
Marvel fanboy here...
Superman sucks...
and Jubilee could beat him...
thegreek - 4/21/2010, 9:53 PM
Faust - :-P lol

Joey Misfit - Thank you sir for agreeing with me i was only using logic... ;-)
r0r5ch4ch84 - 4/22/2010, 2:06 PM
@Faust1973 - Dude...Superman would spank Jubilee's ass and send her to her room. The only one who would have a chance against Supes would be Professor Xavier, Period. And you know very well why. Thor would have all of about an hour to get some bad-ass licks in, but in the end ancient gods always lose to aliens. And as for Hulk...We're talking about Superman here, nice guy, good talker. You know very well that the boyscout in blue would talk Hulk down while easily dodging Hulk's raging blows and thrown projectiles. Marvel Obsessors (fans like rhodey from the Jay and Silent Bob movies) are just not willing to accept that Captain America had a role model that ain't in the universe that they revere.
Change your weed, dude. The resin is affecting your mind.

@thegreek - speaking of Superman and Cap, rememebr that cross- over where they were almost going to fight, but then they both decided not to because they both stand for the same things? Yeah, put that in your collective pipe and smoke it, Marvel Fanboys.

You can't love Marvel without respecting D.C., like I do. Marvel has yet to make something as bad-ass as The Watchmen or V for Vendetta.

Angelus - 4/24/2010, 4:21 AM
Supes is the ultimate superhero, bar none, especially compared from anything Marvel. DC has the really good superheroes, with really good backgrounds. Wolverine vs Batman, Ironman vs Batman? Please. Bats would simply destroy them both. Justice League would quite literary humiliate the Avengers. Now... BEWARE MY POWER!
mwkcope - 4/24/2010, 1:00 PM
Does anyone else think that he looks like Ray Park in some of these pics?
ROMACK - 4/24/2010, 11:18 PM
@r0r5ch4ch84 - Watchmen and V for Vendetta are purely Alan Moore with a DC label and do not exist inside the DC continuity.

Not to take anything away from the DC universe which has an awesome cast of characters ....just like Marvel.

I get tired of hearing this guy can beat up that guy. I could easily write a story where Howard the Duck trashes Supes.
