Bradley Cooper Officially Signs On For 'Rocket Raccoon' In GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

We last heard that Bradley Cooper was in early talks to join Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, but the studio now confirms that it's a done deal and The Hangover star has agreed to voice Rocket Raccoon!

Academy Award-nominated actor Bradley Cooper has officially joined the cast of Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy," lending his voice to the fan-favorite raccoon that will join Peter Quill, Gamora and Drax on their epic adventure to defeat a cosmic force of epic proportions. Cooper has previously starred in "Silver Linings Playbook," for which he was nominated for an Oscar®, "Limitless," "Place Beyond the Pines" and the "Hangover" trilogy, the latter of which has grossed $1.4 billion globally. He will next be seen in "American Hustle" which will reunite him with "Silver Linings Playbook" director David O. Russell. "Guardians" will mark Cooper's first voiceover work.

“Guardians of the Galaxy,” the next epic adventure from Marvel Studios, is directed by James Gunn from his screenplay, with a story by Nicole Perlman and Gunn, and the film will introduce audiences to a whole new side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The all-star cast includes Chris Pratt as Peter Quill aka Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Karen Gillan as Nebula, two-time Academy Award nominee Djimon Hounsou as Korath, Academy Award® winner Benicio del Toro as The Collector, Academy Award nominee John C. Reilly as Rhomann Dey, and six-time Academy Award nominee Glenn Close as Nova Prime. Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” is slated for August 1, 2014!

Not as a distinct voice as I would have imagined, but a very interesting pick.

Turn it to 0:27 I wouldn't mind if he does that as Rocket
darkspark - 8/30/2013, 2:10 PM

Another scoop where elmayimbe was right.

But that doesn't matter because some will disbelieve and trust the official word even though they lie right and left.

Sure elmayimbe had some problems with a fake source a while back but 90% of the time he is right. So yeah. You guys can stop hating on him now.
LEVITIKUZ - 8/30/2013, 2:14 PM
I don't like this for several reasons:

1. He looks nothing like Rocket. I see Bradley and he's like 6 feet not 2-3 feet.

2. Bradley Cooper is to big named. Every time I hear him as Rocket all I will think of is Bradley Cooper.

3. He's not Elba, Fassbender, or Cumberbatch. Those are the only 3 actors on the Planet and yet you didn't include one Marvel.

4. He's done too many shit films. I mean A-Team? Come on. Sure he has an Oscar nom but who cares when he did shit.

Levi-nice one

I really wanna see how hes gonna play this now. I dont think Rocket needs an european accent, I wanna see wat impersonation hes gonna do for the voice

Ineedrevelation - 8/30/2013, 2:19 PM

Cool, before people start crucifying him, let's see how this plays out when the film comes out shall we??? :D
NoAssemblyReqd - 8/30/2013, 2:22 PM
This movie indeed has one of the weirdest casts I've seen in a long while. Benicio Del Toro, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Glenn Close, Chris Pratt, Vin Diesel...

It's like an episode of THE LOVE BOAT.

Can't wait for August 2014!
McNyagano - 8/30/2013, 2:22 PM

Good question.
marvel72 - 8/30/2013, 2:22 PM

SuperCaptainAmerica - 8/30/2013, 2:23 PM

LEVITIKUZ - 8/30/2013, 2:23 PM
I'm gonna start a petition against him to the White House because I'm sure Obama has time to read it.
blvdnoise - 8/30/2013, 2:23 PM
