Given they share a parent company in Disney, ESPN and Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy have teamed for TV spot segments featuring SportsCenter's Kenny Mayne introducing the new security team

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits–Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand - with the galaxy’s fate in the balance. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is presented by Marvel Studios and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gilian, Djimon Hounsou with John C. Reilly, Glenn Close as Commander Rael and Benicio del Toro as The Collector. Distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, the film opens August 1, 2014

If Marvel had a football team, who'd be in the line up?
Bekss - 7/24/2014, 7:18 AM
Didn't like the first one but the other two were good

Godamn...I wish they'd get The Silver Surfer back.
JredTheRed - 7/24/2014, 7:48 AM
@Jollem - nobody but everybody.

@Doopie - hmm, I'd have Cap for QB, Spidey and Quicksilver as WRs, Wolverine and Thor as RBs, with various linesmen Hulk, Thing, Luke Cage, Hercules, Colossus, Sentry, Namor. IDK about the rest i'd have to think on it.
blackandyellow - 7/24/2014, 7:50 AM
Yep, nobody cares about football. That's why 34 out of 35 of last fall's highest rated shows were NFL games.

America is the greatest country in the world. The NFL is the greatest sport in the America. The Steelers are the greatest franchise in NFL history. Therefore, the Steelers are the greatest team in the world.
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 7/24/2014, 7:50 AM
Just realized Nebula looks a lot like Dr. Liara
Jollem - 7/24/2014, 7:53 AM
@JredTheRed - i'm sure there may be a few people. i'd rather play it than watch other people play it, myself :)
JredTheRed - 7/24/2014, 8:01 AM
I perfer NCAA football over NFL. But that could be because we don't have anything close to a local team....we do have the Mountaineers tho :)
Omarvls - 7/24/2014, 8:02 AM

Cool so you are okay?
Some of us thought you had done something to harm yourself yesterday after all the EPIC news Marvel released

1. May 4 2018 release date (Making 3 films in 2018)
2. Concept art posters for Iron Man Ant Man and SW
3. The EPIC scene with Ronan, Nebula and THANOS

Glad you are okay

@Doopie Hulk. And that's all they'd need. ;)

Jollem - 7/24/2014, 8:14 AM
i heard some good ol' boys talking at one of my jobs and they said that not even college is watchable anymore. they said high school football is probably the only ones that still have the purity of the game
Jollem - 7/24/2014, 8:14 AM
@Omarvls - why would i harm myself? i like cbms. i DID escape the warehouse feige took me to yesterday! i still have part of a bullet lodged in me head. no doubt he'll come looking for me, tho. i'll be ready next time -_-
Gusto - 7/24/2014, 8:18 AM
This is the year that The Lions are going to redefine the sport as we know it.
Gusto - 7/24/2014, 8:20 AM in West Virginia?
JredTheRed - 7/24/2014, 8:20 AM
@Jollem - they are prob right about the "purity" thing. Even tho they dont get "paid" in NCAA, there are still lots of bribs going on.
JredTheRed - 7/24/2014, 8:20 AM

@Gusto - yup
Doopie - 7/24/2014, 8:30 AM
Cap has the leadership for QB but I might go for Colossus for his 'fastball special' throwing arm
grif - 7/24/2014, 8:34 AM
seen enough gotg and tmnt shit to last a life time. just release the movies and get it over with.
blackandyellow - 7/24/2014, 8:41 AM
College football is the best sport to bet on.
Gusto - 7/24/2014, 8:58 AM
I used to go kayakin' down there.
Love it.
JredTheRed - 7/24/2014, 9:01 AM
@Doopie - cap has a pretty damn accurate throwing arm too.
JredTheRed - 7/24/2014, 9:02 AM
@Gusto - its a beautiful state, lots to do outdoors wise. where'd u go kayaking at?
Gusto - 7/24/2014, 9:35 AM
Just outside of Charleston.
The New River.
sKeemAn - 7/24/2014, 9:55 AM

As long as you have the Hulk in a RB position no one could ever stop the Avengers football team.

JredTheRed - 7/24/2014, 9:55 AM
@Gusto - u aint one of the bridge jumpers are ya?
TheAbomination - 7/24/2014, 10:20 AM
Nothing like a little synergy to promote the team.
Jtneagle - 7/24/2014, 10:35 AM
Was that a Dreamworks over the hedge reference in the 3rd clip down about guarding the vending machines? haha, remember in Over the hedge, RJ the racoon was always robbing vending machines
BlackBolt72 - 7/24/2014, 11:57 AM

Jollem - 7/24/2014, 1:10 PM
