In an interview last night at the MTV Movie Awards, Star-Lord Chris Pratt gave his thoughts on his future within the MCU and Marvel's approach to their film-making in general.

At the MTV Movie Awards last night, star and Star-Lord, Chris Pratt revealed that he would very much like to continue playing the character for years to come.

"I hope people really like it, and I hope I get to play that character for a very long time," Pratt told MTV's Josh Horowitz. "I think Marvel's been very smart about projecting into the future and what they're putting on their slate. It's based on what people like, so we'll put this movie out there and see how people react to it. Who knows?"

Filming is now complete on James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy, with the finishing touches being added by the director, and Pratt also gave his thoughts on the marketing strategy for the film.

"They're cutting it together and loving everything that they see," said Pratt. "They're being very careful about what they release and very smart about getting people excited without giving away what the movie's about and not giving away the best jokes or story. I think people are very fired up to see it, and don't know what to expect."

"That's the best way to see a movie," he went on. "If I'm really excited to see something, and I have no idea what I'm about to see, I love that. I think that can be a problem you get when you're dealing with [franchises where moviegoers] want to know everything about it."

It may come as no surprise that Pratt would like to continue his association with Marvel far into the future, the financial benefits are there for sure, just ask Robert Downey Jnr. But that surely depends on the success of Guardians of the Galaxy, perhaps Marvel's most risky feature to date. What do you guys think? We've only had a little footage so far, but would you like to see more of Pratt? And how much is too much when it comes to marketing and CBMs?

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is presented by Marvel Studios and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gilian, Djimon Hounsou with John C. Reilly, Glenn Close as Commander Rael and Benicio del Toro as The Collector. Distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, the film opens August 1, 2014.

I think people are very fired up to see it, and don't know what to expect.

Exactly what I was thinking as the trailer concluded in my theater, so much chatter and out-loud thoughts; can't wait for this film.
SuperCat - 4/14/2014, 8:52 AM
I think the majority of folks will like it. My nephews saw the trailer during Cap 2 and they can't wait to see it. They've never heard of the Guardians.
charlie2094 - 4/14/2014, 8:55 AM
Think this will do very well. Definitely going to be a success, just a question of how big. Sci-Fi/Fantasy films like this can always be surprising...hopefully they don't show too much...

What happened to that article about Superman winning at the MTV awards?

Umm.. Didn't Marvel promise some kind of Behind The scenes look on the 13th which was yesterday? What's going on?
charlie2094 - 4/14/2014, 9:00 AM

I might be wrong, but I think it's meant to be showing with the new Agents of SHIELD
XelCorp - 4/14/2014, 9:03 AM
@Yossarian- Alright thanks, because I was a little worried for a second. Maybe it will be with AOS
sKeemAn - 4/14/2014, 9:04 AM
I'm getting a mixed feeling from my fam. Miost think the humor is lame and the don't like the tone. I tell them I don't believe the movie will be that way entirely and thats just the way the trailer makes it look.
XelCorp - 4/14/2014, 9:06 AM
@Charlie2094- I'm really looking foward to it. My anticipation for this film is so high I'm in desperate need to see something new. When do you think the next trailer will be out?
MrBatmor - 4/14/2014, 9:06 AM
The last 20 mins of episode 17 of aos were one of the best tv mins of this season....HAIL HYDRA!!

Good stuff, Doop.

The marketing hasn't given away a whole lot, and that's the way I prefer it, really. I like surprises. Anyway, Groot misses home:

Earth sucks.

And just wait till somebody draws a schlong on him. That's never fun.
charlie2094 - 4/14/2014, 9:10 AM

Honestly really don't know. Soon I'd imagine, think Gunn did say we'd get a newer one sooner rather than later. Imagine the first was very much just to get people used to the characters, and the second shows a little bit more, bit more Ronan and such...

Probably sometime in May, really hard to say. Nice to see it sooner though. Did originally think they might try and get a second one attached to Winter Soldier :P Sure it's not too far away
thunderforce - 4/14/2014, 9:11 AM
This movie is going to be huge .
sKeemAn - 4/14/2014, 9:13 AM
This movie is in need of a second trailer.

I believe in Ray Faranzi.

Bring on a 2nd trailer
marvelstudios - 4/14/2014, 9:31 AM
Really hope it does well. Marvel cosmic would be awesome.

Long Live the MCU!

Starfox - 4/14/2014, 9:46 AM
sh*t He has my vote..
JediPhilosopher - 4/14/2014, 10:07 AM
Everything about this movie looks good. Except.. they really should have kept the sexy outfit for GAMORA. Yeah, her name in caps to emphasize my point. Gamora. Sinful, right? And her outfit in the comic books looks great and emphasizes that. Surely, just a little bit of peril... Marvel: "No, it's too perilous." :P
GizmoEl - 4/14/2014, 10:35 AM
We'll probably have a trailer attached to TASM2 and X-Men DoFP
Ramiel - 4/14/2014, 12:17 PM
No way will this movie be just a one-off. We'll definitely get a sequel, w/ also appearing in Avengers 3.
JediPhilosopher - 4/14/2014, 1:07 PM
Et tu, Malkaticox? :D
JediPhilosopher - 4/14/2014, 1:11 PM
Alien cultures don't think like humans! Human-kind invented the whole concept of "slut".
JediPhilosopher - 4/14/2014, 1:13 PM
They could have changed her outfit A BIT. Instead they went full uniform on her. I hate such extreme changes to a character's look, especially when it's in the direction of "ordinary".
tvor03 - 4/14/2014, 1:33 PM
"Human-kind invented the whole concept of "slut"."

What does this sentence even mean?
JediPhilosopher - 4/14/2014, 1:41 PM
It means if you're an alien, you can be slutty, dress sluttily, and not care, because the whole societal significance certain people place on the idea is alien to you. In other words, strange alien cultures, dress skimipily because they have no reason not to.
JediPhilosopher - 4/14/2014, 1:41 PM
Aliens may not even wear clothing!
JediPhilosopher - 4/14/2014, 1:44 PM
Or failing that, just make the character on the screen fit her/his comic book image somewhat closely and fans like myself will applaud you. To say it's not good enough is to insult the comic book you're pulling the characters from.
JediPhilosopher - 4/14/2014, 1:49 PM
Mind you, I also believe He-Man should look like he does in the animated series too. He's shirtless. Conan the barbarian.. WonderWoman.. I'm just someone who feels it's time that we stop watering down things just to get them on the big screen.
JediPhilosopher - 4/14/2014, 1:49 PM
But I fully expect this will be an amazing movie, despite my gripe..
Trickwil - 4/22/2014, 9:43 AM
I think Chris Pratt is actually the perfect casting for Starlord. I know they will change Drax's origin story which is fine being that no one gave half a damn about him as a character until Annihilation
