GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Tidbits From Zoe Saldana, Chris Pratt And Peter Serafinowicz

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Tidbits From Zoe Saldana, Chris Pratt And Peter Serafinowicz

Bringing more Star Wars comparisons, hit the jump and check out the first we've heard from actor Peter Serafinowicz, whose Nova Corps officer considers the Guardians of the Galaxy just “A-Holes.”

Ladies first! While chatting with the New York Daily News, Zoe Saldana discussed her upcoming film Out of the Furnace and briefly commented on her role in Guardians of the Galaxy. “Gamora doesn’t wake up every morning and go, ‘I’m super-fantastic!’ She just comes from a planet where everybody is green and strong,” Saldana said. “She’s just an everyday person there.”

Meanwhile, during the BAFTA Children Awards 2013, Be the Red Carpet caught up with English actor Peter Serafinowicz, who voiced Darth Maul in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, and asked about his role in Guardians of the Galaxy. “It's not really a superhero film per se,” he said. “It feels more like a Star Wars kind of film. And I play a kind of space cop.” His Nova Corps officer, who's a superior to John C. Reilly's Rhomann Dey and inferior to Glenn Close's Nova Prime, notoriously dubbed the Guardians a “bunch of a-holes” in the San Diego Comic-Con footage.

It seems that Chris Pratt would sorta concur Peter Serafinowicz's Star Wars comparison. Speaking with Babble, the Star-Lord actor and his Delivery Man co-star Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill) were asked about their Marvel Universe ventures. “I think we’re both pretty excited,” said The Avengers actress. “From the world of creative fun and fantasy, I’m really excited to be a part of anything Marvel because it’s supported by such great fans and it’s just a dream.” “Ditto!” Pratt chimed. “Guardians of Galaxy is Marvel’s take on a rocking, space opera-type story, and it’s so imaginative. Not really allowed to say even that, but I’m beyond excited.” Pratt isn't allowed to categorize Guardians of the Galaxy? Marvel snipers must have been on-break during the interview.

“Guardians of the Galaxy,” the next epic adventure from Marvel Studios, is directed by James Gunn from his screenplay, with a story by Nicole Perlman and Gunn, and the film will introduce audiences to a whole new side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The all-star cast includes Chris Pratt as Peter Quill aka Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Karen Gillan as Nebula, two-time Academy Award nominee Djimon Hounsou as Korath, Academy Award® winner Benicio del Toro as The Collector, Academy Award nominee John C. Reilly as Rhomann Dey, and six-time Academy Award nominee Glenn Close as Nova Prime, with Vin Diesal as Groot and Academy Award nominee Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon. Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” is scheduled for release August 1, 2014!

Lol. That "a-holes" line had me cracking up when I saw the footage.
TelaVizion - 12/1/2013, 12:11 PM
I hope S.W.O.R.D. is mentioned in this (maybe have them come close to Earth towards the end and have interactions with S.W.O.R.D.)
ezio619 - 12/1/2013, 12:17 PM
Supercat- yeah me too and plus star lord giving the middle finger to the nova corps and then acting completely oblivious to it just made me laugh so much
jazzman - 12/1/2013, 12:19 PM
i cant wait for this movie to be honest when are we getting a trailer
ezio619 - 12/1/2013, 12:20 PM
Jazzman-james gunn has said that they are early in the VFX process and they want rocket and groot to look as awesome as they would in the film, im thinking january or februaru at the most with the superbowl or robocop
Vegeta - 12/1/2013, 12:22 PM
I don't like the Star Wars comparisons. Star Wars is a one of a kind, and nothing compares to it.

Guardians of the Galaxy should feel like superheroes in space. I always get weary when they compare it to Star Wars, as if that's what they were going for, because they'll never be Star Wars so they should aim for the own goals.

Plus, the mid credit scene felt nothing like Star Wars. Anyway, I can't wait to see the movie.
ezio619 - 12/1/2013, 12:24 PM
Batmaniac- yeah, i think the interviewers always try to get them to compare to each other,i like that it is gonna be a space adventure film that just to happen to have characters that are superheroes
ezio619 - 12/1/2013, 12:26 PM
Batmaniac-plus when people think of space operas or space films, star wars comes to mind, but i think pratt said it the best that it is Marvel's take on a space opera type film
MrCBM56 - 12/1/2013, 12:27 PM
Can't wait for this!
jazzman - 12/1/2013, 12:32 PM

i really cant wait for the trailer to hit. the only thing i dont like is the casting of Zoe Saldana as Gamora. i rather Paula Patton or Rachel Nichols oh well i just have to expect it lol.

i agree with you i hate the Star Wars comparison. when actors say that i just remember when Ryan Reynolds compare Green Lantern as Space Opera like Star Wars and look what happen with that mess of a movie.
CharlesLord - 12/1/2013, 12:35 PM
we're gonna get a trailer sometime within the month...callin it now
maninfinesuit - 12/1/2013, 12:40 PM
If the Thor 2 mid-credit scene was any solid indication, this is way less Star Wars than The Fifth Element.

Which is just marvelous.
Scorpion8125 - 12/1/2013, 12:51 PM
I am getting very excited for this movie.

I am a little worried that they have just too many characters to do them all justice.... unless it is a big hit, and they make a sequel or two...

Then I realize we have to wait almost a year to see it, and that hurts soooo bad.

GIVE ME TRAILER DAMMIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maestro - 12/1/2013, 12:52 PM
"Space Opera"

Perfect description. This is much bigger than just a Guardians of the galaxy film. This is Marvel's first step into their cosmic world. I won't be surprised if this leads to Ms. Marvel film and the Kree.
Scorpion8125 - 12/1/2013, 12:52 PM

Oh, and the mention of Zoe Saldana just set my pants on FIRE!!!!!!!!

Maestro - 12/1/2013, 12:58 PM
Won't be surprised if the Nova corps are touched on as well.
ezio619 - 12/1/2013, 1:03 PM
this movie can go either way,it can be bad or it can be really good,i hope its reallly good, i am gonna be really sad if its not
Maestro - 12/1/2013, 1:03 PM
JoJo1982 - 12/1/2013, 1:04 PM
99% of the movie takes place in space

Ssoooo yeaahh, that's in the right direction!!!
Maestro - 12/1/2013, 1:04 PM

Hmm. Must have forgotten about that.
JoJo1982 - 12/1/2013, 1:05 PM
If your just a big fan of the cosmic side of marvel in general

I can't see how ya can't be excited
JoeMomma29 - 12/1/2013, 1:07 PM
This movie can go either way. Hopefully it will live up to all the hype.
JoJo1982 - 12/1/2013, 1:07 PM
I really want to see Thanos finally in live action, kicking ass and manipulating other character's minds(not the cameo in avengers)
marvel72 - 12/1/2013, 1:09 PM

ezio619 - 12/1/2013, 1:09 PM

Maestro - 12/1/2013, 1:13 PM

JoJo1982 - 12/1/2013, 1:13 PM
Yeah I got pic with me and one the nova corp guys from SDcC and they looking pretty cheap looking

I would post it but I don't know how to post pics on here
ezio619 - 12/1/2013, 1:15 PM
Jojo-costumes almost never look good in pictures, plus they are supposed to be lower level officers
Vegeta - 12/1/2013, 1:17 PM
I hope this gives WB/DC the balls to make a Space Ghost movie! I'd pay good money to see a well made Space Ghost movie.

ezio619 - 12/1/2013, 1:19 PM
i think james gunn knows its a risk and thats why he has said multiple times that he wanted the best people for every job whether it be cinematographer ,set designer ,actors because he wants the movie to look as beautifully as possible and the actors to do the best they can with the characters, he has said the story and voice came to him immediately , he wants the tone to be out there and unique as possible but have characters that we can relate to an emotional level
JoJo1982 - 12/1/2013, 1:20 PM

If they do a Nova movie and it does great in the box office

The WB better take notes!!!
ezio619 - 12/1/2013, 1:23 PM
Marvel-i dont think it will, jj abrams star trek is very sterile and clean looking, this from the footage looks to be more dirty and gritter looking
JoJo1982 - 12/1/2013, 1:24 PM
I'm sorry guys but some of y'all might not agree

But I think Fox should do a Silver Surfer movie
That was the only thing they got right in the FF movie

And he deserves his own movie since he's not going anywhere else
Maestro - 12/1/2013, 1:24 PM
I just want to see a JL movie. That's priority number one for them.
Vegeta - 12/1/2013, 1:25 PM

MAC never said he didn't care. He just said he is getting less excited. Anyway, what does that have to do with you random jab at DC? I agree with MAC, it comes of petty and desperate.
JoJo1982 - 12/1/2013, 1:26 PM

I saw full 5 minute trailer at SDCC

And it looks nothin like the Star Trek movie

It's look and feel like a weird old 80s sci fi movie to me
JoJo1982 - 12/1/2013, 1:26 PM
But in a good way
Vegeta - 12/1/2013, 1:27 PM
"I just want to see a JL movie. That's priority number one for them."

Priority number 1 for WB/DC is Batman & Superman. Justice League shouldn't be a priority, and they should just concentrate on making good movies. When enough characters have been introduced, then they should worry about a Justice League movie.
