Marvel Studios presents “Guardians of the Galaxy”—the big cinematic event exploring an interstellar super hero team-up, featuring Marvel characters Star-Lord, Drax the Destroyer, Gamora, Groot and Rocket Raccoon. While a director and ensemble cast have yet to be announced, “Guardians of the Galaxy” will assemble on August 1, 2014. Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures will distribute the film. In addition to “Guardians of the Galaxy”, Marvel Studios will release a slate of films based on other iconic Marvel characters including “Iron Man 3” on May 3, 2013; “Thor: The Dark World ” on November 8, 2013; “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” on April 4, 2014; and the currently-untitled sequel to “Marvel's The Avengers,” the third highest grossing film of all time, on May 1, 2015.

EdgyOutsider - 12/7/2012, 10:54 AM
Lee Pace is pretty good. I can't see him in a superhero role, let alone Star-Lord.

For once the word pretentious on this board has a proper place. As in attitude.
rockerdude22 - 12/7/2012, 11:10 AM
Anyone else think he seemed kind of awkward in this interview? But hey, if he's passionate about the role, I'd say go for it!
DioFoRio - 12/7/2012, 11:23 AM
Betcha he gets it...those sideburns were pathetic though. Seems like a cool dude.
inkslinger616 - 12/7/2012, 11:27 AM

superotherside - 12/7/2012, 12:06 PM
Seems like a cool guy. I haven't really seen him in anything though. He's in the Hobbit so I'll look for him in there. Although he was in Twilight? WITW? :P
ETPHHM1 - 12/7/2012, 12:36 PM
I can see Lee Pace as (StarLord) aka.-Peter Quill. @IM53- I hope GOTG falls on the Kree Empire and hope to see NOVA, and Ronan the Accuser.
Rhys - 12/7/2012, 12:44 PM
He'd be a great choice!
Equivocal - 12/7/2012, 12:49 PM

Thanks for the transcription of the interview DCMF! So us Canuckleheads can actually get something out of the article.

Stupid MTV.
TheBeard - 12/7/2012, 1:08 PM
If MARVEL already let him read the script, it's probably his job to lose. I don't have a problem with it. What i very much would like to know is who is going to play Gamora. Because she is one sexy as green chick.

hell ya!

Gonna miss the Helmet if they get rid of it.
FennecPilot - 12/7/2012, 1:24 PM

- Marvel has other plans in mind for Jon Hamm....."Strange" plans for him
Durango95 - 12/7/2012, 1:39 PM
I hope he gets it. I REALLY hope they keep the helmet.
AztecRainGod - 12/7/2012, 2:10 PM
Yvonne Strahovski has the body of a man.

FanboyTrump - 12/7/2012, 2:12 PM

She should take those wet clothes off...gon catch cold.
marvel72 - 12/7/2012, 2:24 PM
this is my most anticipated movie of phase 2,will it be better than the best comic book movie ever the avengers,i don't know.
OriginalGuardiansPlease - 12/7/2012, 2:28 PM
Yvonne Strahovski for Aleta (shares Starhawk's body for those that dont know starhawk well).

OriginalGuardiansPlease - 12/7/2012, 2:29 PM
leave Ms Marvel for a future movie...i would rather see Adam Warlock.

If they want to infuse more women in there have Nikki or Aleta in there....and at the same time show some respect for those of us who have been fans of the guardians of the galaxy since well before 2008
TheAbomination - 12/7/2012, 2:39 PM
Don't know much about Pace or his acting skills. Guess I have some homework to do.
superotherside - 12/7/2012, 2:49 PM
MARVELPSYCHO79 Good point.
CasualFanatic - 12/7/2012, 3:10 PM
I can't comment on whether or not Lee Pace is right for Star-Lord, as I've only read a handful of GotG comics. I can say that the guy has tremendous range as an actor and the eyebrows are not a hindrance. They only help.
