Lee Pace Says 'Ronan the Accuser' Is A "F#cking Psycho" In GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

With Guardians of the Galaxy in its final days of filming, James Gunn and cast members tweet about the production as Ronan actor Lee Pace praises the director and describes his villainous character.

Less than a day after wrapping up filming for Guardians of the Galaxy, actor Lee Pace spoke with ClickOnline about The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug as well as his villainous role in the Marvel adaptation. "He’s a fucking psycho!" Pace said of Ronan the Accuser. "He’s a real monster. I’ve had the best time playing this character. I’m glad its all on film and I never thought I could be so nuts in it! [Director] James Gunn is just putting together a phenomenal movie and I’ve had the best time working with him on it. And yea we’ve made a monster of an alien!"

Lee Pace isn't the only one who has completed their scenes for Guardians of the Galaxy, with just one day of filming remaining. Director James Gunn and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Michael Rooker, Dave Bautista and several other supporting cast members have all taken to Twitter recently to announce their final days on the Marvel production. Check out the series of tweets down below.

But first, it seems we could see Benicio Del Toro as The Collector long before Guardians of the Galaxy releases. It's already been reported that his character is built to appear in future Marvel films, but the Oscar-winning actor apparently has an uncredited part in next month's Thor: The Dark World. You may recall actor Clive Russell, who plays Tyr in the Thor sequel, implying that he shared a scene with Benicio Del Toro, although he didn't specify the film (could be The Wolfman). Nonetheless, it seems that The Collector will pop up during The Dark World's post-credits teaser.

“Guardians of the Galaxy,” the next epic adventure from Marvel Studios, is directed by James Gunn from his screenplay, with a story by Nicole Perlman and Gunn, and the film will introduce audiences to a whole new side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The all-star cast includes Chris Pratt as Peter Quill aka Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Karen Gillan as Nebula, two-time Academy Award nominee Djimon Hounsou as Korath, Academy Award® winner Benicio del Toro as The Collector, Academy Award nominee John C. Reilly as Rhomann Dey, and six-time Academy Award nominee Glenn Close as Nova Prime. Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” is slated for August 1, 2014!

Yes yes yes!
Lee Pace is awesome,
GliderMan - 10/11/2013, 12:52 PM
I hope we see a little bit of Ultron in this movie. Or maybe he's behind some of the events. I know in the comics his consciousness went into to space for a while.
SuperCat - 10/11/2013, 12:53 PM
Can't wait to see the trailer.
OrgasmicPotatoe - 10/11/2013, 12:56 PM

ParisSun - 10/11/2013, 1:01 PM
Movie sounds like it could be the best Marvel movie yet. Can't wait to see this and Winter Soldier next year.
MercwithMouth - 10/11/2013, 1:05 PM
Hell yea! The Collector in Thor! Should be a badass post-credits scene! And Lee Pace killed it as Ronan, I'm sure of it!
Humby - 10/11/2013, 1:08 PM
I remember hearing rumors that this was set in the future of the MCU, did we ever figure out if that was true? If so, I wonder how they will weave Thanos between this and his probable appearance in Avengers 3.
CharlesLord - 10/11/2013, 1:08 PM
i cant wait for this
fr0st - 10/11/2013, 1:12 PM
Can't wait for this!
MarkV - 10/11/2013, 1:20 PM
I have no idea what kind of movie this is.
TheAbomination - 10/11/2013, 1:25 PM
Give us a trailer in front of Thor 2 or else!!
marantaz - 10/11/2013, 1:29 PM
Yeah, I suspect they're regretting giving Saldana the role, she's not very committed to anything, seems to me. She might be real good at playing a cold ass killer bitch, but other than the killer part, it's who she is.

As for the Collector, does the story go that he's interested in Iron Man, perhaps to battle Thanos, after IM is credited with taking out the Chitauri, and that's how the Avengers are drawn into battle with Thanos? If so, how does he appear in Thor II? Looking forward to this, and to the trailer for GotG when Thor comes out!

The attitude is really infectious. This is so different from what most of these actors usually do, you could imagine there be some apprehension, but people seem to be genuinely excited by both the experience and the result.

Well done Gunn, you inspired these people well.
Amazing512 - 10/11/2013, 1:32 PM
Awesome! The whole cast seems soo passionate and I'm glad to here that Ronan is a beast in he film. He's a ridiculously tough SOB in the comics
LexHairFight - 10/11/2013, 1:35 PM
marantaz -

What indication has she given that she isn't committed? She's been really enthusiastic about the experience.
SageMode - 10/11/2013, 1:46 PM
Pace is gonna be badass in this role. I could sense it.

DefcoN - 10/11/2013, 1:47 PM
The level of commitment everyone had with this movie was phenomenal and still manages to impress me.
marantaz - 10/11/2013, 1:53 PM
BenAffleckMight - (cringe... oooo you got me with that name... cringe... headshot...) She's never appeared enthusiastic about anything to me. She's just there in films, really. Not a good actess, imo. And not right for the role, again, imo. I'll give her a chance, but with the enthusiasm of the other actors being what it is, either this film is completely f'd up, or it's gonna rock like none other... except for her, I'm afraid, and that will be bad because the role is critical to the entire Thanos storyline.
fortycals - 10/11/2013, 2:08 PM
Can't wait for this but the pace quote or me off the tiniest bit. Ronan shouldn't be a psycho. Head strong ego maniac, and bad ass yes, evil depending on the way you look at him, but psycho? Any way wouldn't hurt the movie in the least, just a fanboys gripe.
fortycals - 10/11/2013, 2:09 PM
*put me off
JoJo1982 - 10/11/2013, 2:12 PM

Chill out guys, lol... i wouldnt assume from a tweet that Zoe isnt excited about the movie. smh

Zoe seems like a chick that has thing for comics and fantasy movies(Avatar, Star Trek movies, Losers, Pirates of the Carribeans 1)

I dont think we'll see a GotG teaser in front of Thor either. Most likely see Cap 2, X-men, and Spidey 2 teasers in front of Thor 2.
JamesMan - 10/11/2013, 2:17 PM
I honestly don't give a shit about Ronan in GOTG, mainly because I'm to busy foaming at the mouth at Benicio Motha-[frick]ing Del Toro being The Collector. Love that dude in anything he's in.
ATrueHero1987 - 10/11/2013, 2:19 PM
@JoJo1982 Why not? They should a MOS teaser with TDKR, almost year before MOS was released in theaters.
Odin - 10/11/2013, 2:20 PM
ATrueHero1987 - 10/11/2013, 2:21 PM
JoJo1982 - 10/11/2013, 2:27 PM

yeah but they also was filming Man of Steel around the same time, they was filming DKR.

Remember Man of Steel was supposed to have a release date of December 2012 but go push back because of The Hobbit
JoJo1982 - 10/11/2013, 2:27 PM
ATrueHero1987 - 10/11/2013, 2:30 PM
@BlackJack10 But this will be done before Thor: TDW comes out...even before the World Premiere. I'm just saying they have enough time to put together a :30 sec to 1:00 min teaser in front of Thor: TDW.
JoJo1982 - 10/11/2013, 2:36 PM
Meh, I doubt it.... Marvel Studios are going to focus on 1 thing at a time, so next up is getting Captain America Winter Soldier promotion in gear.

Then when Cap 2 is a few weeks from showing or maybe a month from its release date, then we'll see GotG blasting in full gear
TheBeard - 10/11/2013, 2:43 PM
I hope in the after credits scene we see Collector stealing the Infinity Gauntlet from Odin's treasure vault.
@mercwithamouth i agree

if he was gonna steal something, right after the dark elves attack Asgard would be the perfect time
Spock - 10/11/2013, 3:01 PM
I became a fan of Ronan when he killed the Supreme Intelligence, & Became the KING OF THE KREE!

SaxoWolf - 10/11/2013, 4:06 PM
I got a feeling this movie will gonna be so much better than thor 2 and captain america 2.
NovaCorpsFan - 10/11/2013, 4:28 PM
So pumped for this movie. Cannot wait to see this shit.
marvel72 - 10/11/2013, 5:14 PM

Crystal was married to Quicksilver.
