Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits–Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand - with the galaxy’s fate in the balance. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is presented by Marvel Studios and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gilian, Djimon Hounsou with John C. Reilly, Glenn Close as Commander Rael and Benicio del Toro as The Collector. Distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, the film opens August 1, 2014

They need to stop marketing that baby groot until everyone has seen the movie lol. I'm seeing tv spots showcasing that scene all the time.
TheManFromMars - 8/9/2014, 7:50 AM
Seen 4 times already. Going for a 5th today.
DrDoom - 8/9/2014, 7:56 AM
Carina was so hot . . . . why'd she have to asplode?

At least Ophelia Lovibond can play another MCU role now.
AlexanderLykins - 8/9/2014, 7:57 AM
Seeing it one last time in a few hours. Also, that is the best look at Thanos yet!
DrDoom - 8/9/2014, 7:57 AM
I've only seen it twice. I need to go back again. My MCU record is currently Thor 2, which I saw in theaters six times.
ManofSteel23 - 8/9/2014, 7:59 AM
I want the baby groot!

MarvelFan15 - 8/9/2014, 8:08 AM

batz11 - 8/9/2014, 8:08 AM
Saw it 4 times already, went to Hercules yesterday, whole time wishing I had went to GotG again...After it, snuck in to GotG for opening scene, almost stayed for entire movie again, but had other plans...
Nomis1800 - 8/9/2014, 8:09 AM
Glad I downloaded this crap instead of spending actual money to it.
Nomis1800 - 8/9/2014, 8:09 AM

@ 0mega

Ditto, brother. Ditto.
venom0706 - 8/9/2014, 8:17 AM

Same here. The visuals of this film are just spectacular. Seen it 2 times and I have to....resist...the urge to give my money again and go watch it for a 3rd time....
CherryBomb - 8/9/2014, 8:19 AM
What a waste of Ophelja Lovibond.
Wish she had a bigger and better role!

I could totally see her as Crystal in an Inhumans movie.

antman8o8 - 8/9/2014, 8:19 AM
I know this is probably not true but I felt that the Aether could be seen in one of the Collector's display cases. When they first met him on Knowhere one of the cases is very foggy with a glowing red hue in it.

I wonder what happened to it or where it was contained when the explosion happened. Not that it seems that would have really affected it.
Havensent - 8/9/2014, 8:21 AM
Going to see this again today.
Ipitythefool - 8/9/2014, 8:22 AM
@Nomis1800 ... You have shitty taste in films. Either that or your mildly retarded.
DrDoom - 8/9/2014, 8:23 AM

Well, considering that she was playing a Krylorian in a small role, I'm guessing that most people won't recognize her if she plays a human role next time around. Would love to see her again, and now that you mention it, she does look like Crystal.

Stop being so good at female fancasts
DrDoom - 8/9/2014, 8:25 AM
She is so freaking hot though.
Cerebro - 8/9/2014, 8:28 AM
@Nomis1800 Do you eat billy goats for breakfast?
MrBlackJack - 8/9/2014, 8:32 AM
This film is like crack for your eyes. So glad they've got the same cinematographer working on Age of Ultron.
Chucky2003 - 8/9/2014, 8:38 AM
Haha, the part with the prosthetic leg was funny
ManThing - 8/9/2014, 8:39 AM
Mining. The Head. Of a Celestial.

That is THE strangest, craziest thing I have seen in a marvel film yet. I mean it's amazing... it's an incredibly bizarre sight to behold.

But also doesn't exactly fit with Marvel's depiction of them. I mean other than Apocalypse who was able to use Celestial technology to upgrade himself, most in the universe would not be able to utilize Celestial tech, especially coming from their physical bodies. because with them technology and and their physical bodies evolved together to the point where there's no difference between the two. What looks like battle armor on the outside is actually a living part of their bodies. When Thor cracked one of their heads open, what he found inside was not a skull underneath. In fact a whole lot of it didn't make sense at all, but he did locate a brain which destroyed Mjolnir. The thing has cervical vertebrae. Most Celestials don't have necks. There looks like there is a mouth area. But no Celestial has ever been observed eating. Or even having any kind of a jaw. They've been seen ABSORBING GALAXIES... That's probably closer to their method of eating.

This leads me to my next point which is that Celestials being nearly omnipotent... wouldn't it seem odd that they would actually leave one of their dead just lying around? Unless this is some kind of deal where the celestial got beheaded somehow while it was out of touch with it's group.

In any case I'm not really complaining... but these are just some things I thought of as my jaw dropped open in the theater. Cool image, if a bit strange.
SuperCat - 8/9/2014, 8:39 AM
@ 0mega

Damn, that pic is beautiful.
Locky - 8/9/2014, 8:40 AM
Guardians of the Galaxy... another Disney cartoonish movie filled with jokes and obviously for kids. Thanos was a joke. What happened to those Thano's badass concept arts?

The visual effects were good though.
CherryBomb - 8/9/2014, 8:44 AM
Chris Pratt makes my ovaries hurt he's so freaking HOT
Killersloth - 8/9/2014, 8:48 AM
Anyone else seen Vin Diesel's latest post? A picture of Groot and saying "I get the strange feeling that Marvel thinks I'm Inhuman... Haha." Think he is just playing around and has seen people guessing Black Bolt?
Klone - 8/9/2014, 8:54 AM
*is revolted*
CherryBomb - 8/9/2014, 8:56 AM

He'd be an amazing Black Bolt!!
Like, because he won't speak, which is he opposite of Groot, so a perfect way to differentiate between the two roles. Ah man, I really hope Marvel announces Inhumans soon!
CherryBomb - 8/9/2014, 8:58 AM
Lockjaw should've definitely had a cameo in Guardians.

thetrojan - 8/9/2014, 9:43 AM
@ CherryBomb

Lockjaw will probably be the first Inhuman we will meet,
end credit sequence in some future movie
the kirby krackle fills the air and through the sparks and filling the screen ,an oversized slobbering dog materialises,
camera rises to reveal behind the dog...a blurred rendition of yer inhumans....

thanks for inspiring me to get that scene in my head cherrybomb
PunkRockJesus - 8/9/2014, 9:44 AM
Eh, Inhumans are the poor mans Mutants. I have yet to read an Inhuman comic that I really enjoyed. BB is cool by all means, but I'd rather see that Howard the Duck MCU flick ;D ...for serious though.
thetrojan - 8/9/2014, 9:45 AM
I am going to see it again as I fooled myself into 3d mode which is just a load of layers and concentrating on the 3d hurt my eyes and my head.

These stills are a good reminder of what I saw.
