PsyGuy - 10/31/2012, 7:30 AM
JJ Abrams for sure!!
Quicksilver87 - 10/31/2012, 7:34 AM
Brad Bird
LucasMend - 10/31/2012, 7:43 AM
Shame on people who voted for Nolan, you people want realistic Star Wars? oh for christ sake
mrHJK - 10/31/2012, 7:43 AM
Brad Bird. Everyone voting Nolan is just silly. Let him do James Bond. Not Star Wars.
LewisMcGregor - 10/31/2012, 7:49 AM
Why Chris Nolan? :S He's never made a fantasy film in his life.
Sevairity - 10/31/2012, 7:54 AM
@Ripynt LOL I was thinking the EXACT same thing. [frick]ing Nolan fanboys.
QuanZen - 10/31/2012, 7:54 AM
Chris Nolan or Joss Whedon. Both are the new pioneers
Wingding - 10/31/2012, 8:03 AM
Josh Trank?! WTF? Sick of everyone picking him for EVERY movie
CapFan79 - 10/31/2012, 8:07 AM
STFU with Nolan. Don't think they'd use a Trek guy for SW. It'd have to be Joss or Favreau. They have the right OT tone.
RedeyeJedi - 10/31/2012, 8:08 AM
Brad Bird is a pretty good choice.
[frick] Nolan up his stupid Batman ruining ass.
Nick56 - 10/31/2012, 8:17 AM
Duncan Jones maybe but most of the directorial styles of the other directors won't fit well within the star wars universe. Personally I would want Joseph Kosinski (Tron Legacy)
SCURVYDOG619 - 10/31/2012, 8:22 AM
I can't believe no one mentioned Sam Raimi or Speilberg....
SCURVYDOG619 - 10/31/2012, 8:23 AM
I suppose Gore Verbinski must be in the running, yes?
ibravosp5 - 10/31/2012, 8:24 AM
I picked J J Abrams but I want it to be George Lucas
ConnerKent - 10/31/2012, 8:30 AM
Rupert Wyatt redeemed Planet of the Apes with ROTPOTA, I think he could redeem Star Wars after those dreadful sequels.
CaseyJones1 - 10/31/2012, 8:32 AM
Christopher Nolan will ruin Star Wars I think Steven spilberg will be Great
simpleman - 10/31/2012, 8:32 AM
God, not Nolan. We don't need frickin "more dark, more realistic" approach in SW.
manofmidgard - 10/31/2012, 8:33 AM
lol nolanites
BatmanBlueLantern - 10/31/2012, 8:45 AM
Personally, either Brad Bird or Peter Jackson. Both are great directors.
Unas - 10/31/2012, 8:46 AM
Why do trolls hate Nolan? He's a great director. But yes, I'd rather have Nolan do Bond rather than Star Wars.
ToTheManInTheColdSweat - 10/31/2012, 8:53 AM
Ugh, [frick] nolanites, abramsites, birdites. The obvious choice is Peter Jackson.
CaseyJones1 - 10/31/2012, 8:53 AM
the only good thing I see about a Christian Nolan directing The Star Wars movie is that music would be awesome and Darth Vader would be bad ass
Danbojohnj - 10/31/2012, 8:54 AM
Steven Spielberg!
optimus - 10/31/2012, 8:56 AM
Who should be the next president of USA: Nolan
Who should be the first man on mars: Nolan
Who should desing the next Iphone: Nolan
Who should be the next Bond: Nolan
Who should be the next autobot leader: Nolan
Who should be the next Chuck Norris: Nolan

comicNERD1031 - 10/31/2012, 9:03 AM
Nolan was great for batman but he should stay the hell away! I want Jon fav to do a Boba movie it's more his level.

Next Star Wars directed by Peter Jackson or the wachowski siblings
blackscienceman - 10/31/2012, 9:09 AM
wow why the hell is chris nolan even on this? i worship the ground that man walks on, but he should never touch star wars... and neither should george lucas ever again for that matter
GodzillaKart - 10/31/2012, 9:12 AM
I actually think Peter Jackson would be well suited for this.

Nolan would be a terrible choice, although I think he would be great for 007.
mawilli4 - 10/31/2012, 9:17 AM
Kevin Smith could do it. read his comics. he can balance the serious and the funny. not too mention his impeccable talent for dialogue (Clerks? "moral implications of blowing up the Death Star?")
pintoman - 10/31/2012, 9:21 AM
Bird. Best range. Humor, plot tightness. Perfectionist.
OtakuPapi - 10/31/2012, 9:29 AM
JJ Abrahams is the only one that makes sense
Groge511 - 10/31/2012, 9:33 AM
I'd say JJ Abrams. Nolan would in no way be suited for this. I'd love to see what Spielberg could do.
DJRock93 - 10/31/2012, 9:35 AM
Nolan needs to stay AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS AS POSSIBLE. Trank is promising, did well with Chronicle, but idk about a space epic. Abrams is most suited with Star Trek under his belt, and Super 8 was fantastic, so he got my vote.
Brady1138 - 10/31/2012, 9:37 AM
Sorry, but Nolan, Del Toro, or Scott would be terrible choices. They have made great films, but they all lack the fun optimism Star Wars needs. Just because they made great films in their own right, doesn't mean they're automatic musts.

I think Brad Bird, Joss Whedon, or J.J. Abrams would be good choices. They all have that sort of Star Wars-style optimism and fun in their films. Abrams especially, I mean, he practically made another Star Wars with Star Trek!
Brady1138 - 10/31/2012, 9:38 AM
And Favreau, forgot about him.
FilmsFan - 10/31/2012, 9:45 AM
Nolan not an idiot to do a Star Wars film which whoever makes will never ever come close to STAR WARS 1977!!

So any big director like Nolan or Spielberg etc would NEVER get involved cuz
a- the series is already bigger than them!
b- it will not add anything towards their career!
& the expectation will be blown so much than no one can achieve them!!

A new Visionary director who has nothing to lose will be involved!
No mature & already established director, who doesn't even need StarWars, will never even touch it!

Plus NOLAN is made for BOND!
Not Star Wars & Indiana Jones!

& BTW NOLAN has made Fantasy film it's called THE PRESTIGE!
Nick56 - 10/31/2012, 9:49 AM
Nolanites want Nolan even though he is better for Bond, and Marvelites want Whedon even though he is busy with the MCU. I would get Joseph Kosinski, he is a young director with experience in CGI heavy sci-fi films and has worked with Disney before. The most important part of making Episode 7 is that it carries on the tone, feel, and spirit of the rest of the saga or else it will stick out like a sore thumb.
Canon108 - 10/31/2012, 9:50 AM
Episode VII - J.J. Abrams
Episode VIII - Ridley Scott
Episode IX - Spielberg
juliochapulin - 10/31/2012, 9:56 AM
Joss Whedon he is perfect for Star Wars, he make Firefly and The Avengers he is the perfect choice, if not i will go by Duncan Jones
CudderCle22 - 10/31/2012, 10:07 AM
Drew Goddard or Wally Pfister
