Director James Gunn has just posted a new image from Marvel's upcoming space adventure, featuring Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax (Dave Bautista) and Star Lord (Chris Pratt) looking like they should be getting ready to take some evasive maneuvers.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits–Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand - with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.

Guardians of the Galaxy stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gilian, Djimon Hounsou with John C. Reilly, Glenn Close as Commander Rael and Benicio del Toro as The Collector. Distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, the film opens August 1, 2014.

Gunn Posted This: What's my favorite part of #guardiansofthegalaxy? It just may be the awe-inspiring score by Tyler Bates - a new school riff on the old school big themes of movies like Superman and Star Wars. It still blows my mind and movies me to tears.

the movies me to tears bit is not a typo..i see what he did there.i it movies me to tears too..anyway the score during the 17 min preview was great..it felt like an old school bombastic score akin to Indiana Jones or Star Wars.it was quite, quite good
PymParticle - 7/11/2014, 5:07 PM
They're wearing the red guardians costumes in this shot. Finally a new, and hopefully great, movie set in space. [frick]ing excited.
PymParticle - 7/11/2014, 5:07 PM
More space in Guardians than Star Trek. Pretty funny.
Jollem - 7/11/2014, 5:12 PM

Don't worry. You'll be the first to say that this movie sucked even if you didn't even see it.
MarvelFan15 - 7/11/2014, 5:15 PM
This will be Marvel's next billion dollar hit.
Wannabe - 7/11/2014, 5:16 PM
I'm extremely hyped for this movie. Easily the movie of the Summer for me personally. However, I just don't see this performing well at the box office. The source material is completely foreign territory to most. As well, CBMs have already been struggling to due a growing CBM fatigue. I fear this film may receive the brunt of that fatigue, unfortunately.
MrCBM56 - 7/11/2014, 5:17 PM
I love the Milano's exterior and interior. The fact that most of it is Practical is awesome.
PymParticle - 7/11/2014, 5:18 PM
Don't think Marvel will care much if it's not a mega hit (financially). - Pretty sure Guardians sequel will be integral part of the future of the MCU particularly the lead up just before A3.
Enphlieuwince - 7/11/2014, 5:19 PM
What "CBM fatigue"? The 3 CBMs from this year have all grossed $700M+. That's extremely successful...
JillyMcBeam - 7/11/2014, 5:19 PM
Turk, you're a terrible Marvel troll.
PymParticle - 7/11/2014, 5:20 PM
Why can't Star Trek be cool like this?
Pasto - 7/11/2014, 5:21 PM
McNyagano - 7/11/2014, 5:21 PM

What CBM fatigue are you talking about?lol DOFP, Cap 2 and TASM2 all grossed over 700 million worldwide this year alone. This CBM fatigue you speak of, is non-existent.
