VIDEO: Fan Creates Their Own 'Dancing Groot' From GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

Apart from a miniature version which will be included in the ridiculously expensive Hot Toys Rocket and Groot double pack, there's still no word on when we'll see an official Dancing Groot toy from Guardians of the Galaxy. Well, one clever fan has made their own...

If we're lucky, Marvel will have some sort of Dancing Groot in Disney Stores by Christmas, but for now, a lot of fans are having to improvise. That's exactly what Patrick Delahanty of Petaluma, California did by using a battery operated dancing flower from the 90s. On his YouTube page Delahany writes: "I made this using a "Movin' & Groovin'" flower I got from eBay, cut off the dumb daisy, and covered the stem on felt and twine. My fiancee sculpted the head from Model Magic. We then painted everything with brown and tan paint. He can now dance to Peter Quill's "Awesome Mix"...or to my own mix." The end result is pretty damn good, and you can actually see step-by-step photos of how he created his own Dancing Groot by clicking here.

It is cool how some people said "Frick this, and Frick Christmas. I will make my own dancing Groot". It came out nice and he got his chick in on it too.

@OmegaDaGod, good point. Agreed.

By the way, why is this is the front page? I mean, it's nice, but there's a lot of cool things (cooler than that) that didn't reach the front page.

I want one for Christmas, make it happen Disney/Marvel.

Disney are really missing out if they don't come out with this.

In fact there really isn't nearly enough GOTG merchandise out there right now. A few toys, a few figures, Halloween costumes,some Lego sets,a plush Rocket, a couple of shirts and a Toys R Us exclusive kids sleeping bag. Also a couple of kids books.

I've bought most of this stuff for my son. I'm quite sure Disney is inundated with licensing deals so that we will have quite a bit more by Christmas.

My requests are:
-dancing baby Groot of course
-3 3/4" figures
-play sets
-big wheel/bike
-fruit snacks/grahams, etc.
-wall decals, curtains, etc.
-toothbrush, hand soap, etc.

The only fast food tie-in is cups from Subway. Maybe for the video release they can do some proper toys for kid meals.
