HEROES REBORN Synopsis Released

HEROES REBORN Synopsis Released

NBC have released an official synopsis for Tim Kring's upcoming Heroes revamp. It doesn't give too much away, and there are no casting details yet, but it sounds like it'll basically be the first season all over again with a new batch of characters.

The saga behind the 2006 breakout series Heroes will continue as creator Tim Kring returns to the fold and develops new layers to his original superhero concept. This highly anticipated 13-episode miniseries will reconnect with the basic elements of the show’s first season where ordinary people were waking up to the fact that they had extraordinary abilities. This series will be preceded by a new digital series that will introduce audiences to the new characters and storylines that will take the Heroes phenomenon to new places.

maybe they could bring back ando and hiro and have them be mentors to the new characters
ThedamnBatman - 5/11/2014, 3:17 PM
cautiously optimistic on this

i have high hopes for this
Nubase - 5/11/2014, 3:22 PM
a show that should have been a phenom, they messed up big time from 3rd season, it became the cheerleader show
jonnytheshirt - 5/11/2014, 3:24 PM
1rst Season was TV gold, looks like they'll be trying to recapture that.
LEEE777 - 5/11/2014, 3:25 PM
Awesome I loved this show!

Glad its coming back big time.
xstryker - 5/11/2014, 3:31 PM
"Heroes Reborn"? They used the same name as that Rob Liefeld garbage? That is a really bad omen.
IFeelLikePablo - 5/11/2014, 3:36 PM
@xstryker Rob Liefeld is the greatest.
Pheezmatic - 5/11/2014, 3:37 PM
IDk I think this idea got worn out real quick when the show was on the air...thats why it got so stale so quick. Seems like they're trying to capture lightning in a bottle here..and without costumes, it might just fall short of some of the other comic book infused television that will be coming out at around the same time.
Scorpion8125 - 5/11/2014, 3:40 PM
Season 1 good show.

Season 2 got boring, then bad as the year went along.

After that, complete sh!t.

ManofSteel23 - 5/11/2014, 3:42 PM
I don't think this will do well, I don't think superhero shows outside of proper marvel/dc properties do very well, because you know they are just jumping on the superhero wagon, the cape, the tomorrow people etc heroes might do better because it already has a fan base I'm guessing, I loved the series but it obvi got crap as it went on,I hope its as good as the first season anyways
LancerEvo - 5/11/2014, 3:56 PM
So, they're introducing a new set of "heroes" are they? So what about the bit where Claire pretty much outs all the heroes/villains/super-powered people in the world? They're just gonna pretend that never happened?

I need more info on this, cuz so far it seems like I might have to pass on this "Reborn" series :/
Dickel - 5/11/2014, 3:58 PM
I can remember how poxy this show was.
Instead of showing the viewers a characters powers, we were given the noise of what that power sounded like while showing another characters face reacting to said character using their powers. It was so lame.

I couldnt give less of a sh!t about this show and its a lame attempt to jump (back) onto the recent bandwagon of other superhero tv shows.

Let's not forget that Tim Kring also wrote the later seasons of 'Heroes' in its first incarnation.. which was some of the dodgiest tv I've put myself through watching.
CherryBomb - 5/11/2014, 4:04 PM
I want them to hire some fresh faces :D
CherryBomb - 5/11/2014, 4:05 PM
If there's one person I want back, it's Ali Larter as the third triplet, Barbara

Humperdink - 5/11/2014, 4:17 PM
I never watched the first version, maybe I'll check out the revival.
HurricaneXavier - 5/11/2014, 4:17 PM
This series needs Sylar.

Hopefully at very least the ending to this one doesn't give us blue balls like the last one did.
CherryBomb - 5/11/2014, 4:21 PM
Nooo no Sylar.
He was awesome at the start but they just milked him dry by the end of it. They tried to make him sympathetic at parts and the whole "we're brothers" or whatever was stupid.
Humperdink - 5/11/2014, 4:23 PM
Since so much superhero stuff is now coming to the small screen, do you know who I want to see get a chance?

Moon Knight.

I really this new iteration. I'd never even wanted to draw him, even from test scripts, but now he's just very oddly cool for some reason.

I actually enjoy the minimalistic approach to the book they're taking.
It'd be perfect for TV as it is now.
He's almost like a costumed Constantine in a way.
Pheezmatic - 5/11/2014, 4:25 PM
Plus i tried watching this show again on Netflix....

....first season...

..got old REEEEAAAL quick...

I think it was the fact that when this show came out, there were only a bunch of good to mediocre cgm's at the time and absolutely no comic book tv shows....it did its best to fill a void....a void that has since been filled by the heavy hitters (AOS+ ARROW)...Peter & Nathan Petrelli and Hiro and Hayden Pantierre? Sorry, I'm just only barely slightly interested..

NOW Constantine? Agent Carter? AOS Season 2? Arrow Season 3? The Flash? Daredevil on NF? THAATS what I'm looking forward to...not a half steppin wannabe superhero show.
Humperdink - 5/11/2014, 4:31 PM
Agent Carter is top of my must watch list after that Marvel short.
She was incredible, plus it's about time Marvel let a woman take center stage in their Studio work.
Kyos - 5/11/2014, 4:35 PM

I'm not completely sure what went wrong, but I started hating every Ali Larter character in the show. I just found them irritating and annoying. I actually have problems with Ali Larter in other roles since then. :(

So yeah, she's among the characters that'd make me stay away from this Reborn thing. Please no Sylar, Claire, Nate Petrelli or Parkman either.
mctrinket - 5/11/2014, 4:36 PM
Moon Knight is like a Batman mixed with Deadpool and pure awesomeness. Much prefer a Moon Knight Netflix series to a Jessica Jones one.

Pheezmatic - 5/11/2014, 4:39 PM
I agree...I'm really curious to see how Marvel treats their female lead characters in the long term like that..
Sif was cool...Carter was awesome...Widow has been badass... but I want to see something led by a female...with people like Joss, and James Gunn putting in work with Marvel, i can only assume they'll speak up for strong female leads. Go Marvel!
Chekkarma - 5/11/2014, 4:48 PM
Can't wait.

Humperdink - 5/11/2014, 4:50 PM
Moon Knight is like a Batman mixed with Deadpool and pure awesomeness.

Yeah I just threw in the Constantine thing because of last issue.
That was actually a bit of a stretch...but whatever.
CherryBomb - 5/11/2014, 4:51 PM

:O how dare you! Ali literally became my reason to watch. The split personality storyline was great, Ali played them both so well, Nikki was a character you really felt for, a lot of the others felt so hipster and contrived. & Even Tracy, she made a character that could be a real bitch likeable and quite a bad ass.
Humperdink - 5/11/2014, 4:52 PM
Sif was cool...Carter was awesome...Widow has been badass... but I want to see something led by a female...

Agreed. If they keep the energy and atmosphere of that Carter short it's going to be the $#!*. No joke, I really enjoyed her in that.
Comedian03 - 5/11/2014, 4:55 PM
Really don't know about this. IMO one of the biggest struggles the original series had was introducing new characters, I found most of the characters they tried bringing in after the first season to be either boring, annoying, poorly written, uninteresting, or a combination of all 5.
BlackIceJoe - 5/11/2014, 4:57 PM
I think it will be great with a whole new cast. I don't need to know what everyone is up to. I know it won't happen but I would love to see it not take part in the US. It would be interesting to see what the rest of the world looks like.
MightyZeus - 5/11/2014, 5:07 PM
Sounds good. I really loved the first Season of Heroes so i am looking forward to Heroes Reborn especially with the return of Tim Kring.
sKeemAn - 5/11/2014, 5:17 PM
WHat I gather from this is they will re-do season 1 with new characters. Obviously continuity will not be a problem...
Kyos - 5/11/2014, 5:23 PM

I actually liked her for a good part of S1. Then at some point I realized I didn't like her at all anymore. I wish it wasn't so! :'(
sKeemAn - 5/11/2014, 5:25 PM
This should still be really good. Kring is pretty good and there is no writer's strike in the foreseeable future (hopefully).
superbatspiderman - 5/11/2014, 5:29 PM
I hope that they give cameos of the old characters. This sounds good though. I loved Heroes even the stuff after the first season. The last season was kind of a mess though.
sKeemAn - 5/11/2014, 5:33 PM
The only character I want to return is Hiro, and that techy kid, Noah Gray-Cabey is his name I think.
NiteSoul69 - 5/11/2014, 5:38 PM
the WGA writers' strike killed this show, after season one, writers went on strike so only part of the second season had been written, which meant the rest of the season was thrown together by second rate writers and it totally messed up everything, when the original writers came back the series was so messed up that their attempts to fix it were failing horribly. I read somewhere that this is a one season thing only but I would think that if it does really well it will be picked up, they also hired comic book writer Cullen Bunn to write Heroes: Season Five to continue the original series which I find weird if they are essentially re-booting the series
jasonicus - 5/11/2014, 5:39 PM
Who is actually going to watch this crap?
