HEROES To Return?

HEROES To Return?

'Save the cheerleader, save the world.' That tagline hooked many a comic book fan during Season One of NBC's Heroes. By Season Four, the show had strayed very far from that basic premise to dire consequences. Could the show return and to its former glory?

Yes, TVLine is reporting that NBC (through MSN) may be looking to revive the television show, Heroes as an online X-Box exclusive program. MSN is gearing up for a big push into online programming and they're keen on bringing back the show but with a new cast of heroes, mixed in with cameos from the original actors.

For those unfamiliar with the story of Heroes, the series revolved around ordinary people who suddenly developed superhuman abilities. The plot was meant to unfold like that of a comic book, with each season containing one or two 'volumes' of plot progression centered around multiple storylines that initially showed no connection but eventually revealed to viewers a broad conspiracy. The show starred Zachary Quinto, Kristen Bell, Hayden Panettiere, Milo Ventimiglia, Dania Ramirez, Ali Larter and David Anders. The show lasted four seasons for a total of 77 episodes.

Details are scarce at this time reports TVLine but it's thought the show will air exclusively on the XBox Live Network.

We'll have more details as soon as they become available.

Let's just do something original instead.

Season one was AMAZING, don't get me wrong, but this just sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.
typicalfanboy - 4/17/2013, 11:31 AM
Let it die. Nice rack though I didn't think hpants even had boobs.
SuperDude001 - 4/17/2013, 11:34 AM
Yeah...no. The whole show was terrible after Season 1 (which was freaking awesome). Like LOST, the show just didn't know where it wanted to go and the writers were just mucking viewers around.
Although...if this would mean more badass evil Sylar, then I'll give it a chance.
neonhero - 4/17/2013, 11:36 AM
Season 1 was outstanding. Everything after was a shame. Let it go.
marvel72 - 4/17/2013, 11:36 AM
season 1 was fantastic but every season after was average with good moments.
Spideyguy94 - 4/17/2013, 11:37 AM
Season one was great, season 2 was ok, season 3 was f*cking abysmal to the point that I refuse to watch any more heroes.
kevberg - 4/17/2013, 11:41 AM
Season1 was the only good one..BLAH BLAH BLAH. [email protected]!

Later part of season 3 was good, the stuff with Parkman and his speedster girlfriend--great stuff, Some season 4 stuff was good,

The ONLY reason that show went off the rails was the writer strike which threw a lot of shows off kilter and screwed their momentum.

Ramiel - 4/17/2013, 11:46 AM
I hated how Sylar turned good, and Ali Carter's kept dying.
mrHJK - 4/17/2013, 11:46 AM
Season 1 was great; 2 was mostly good, but like most people I lost interest during season 3
SoulAllFlush - 4/17/2013, 11:46 AM
Season 1 was brilliant. But they needed desperately to shrink the cast in the following seasons. They just kept trying to repeat the first season. The characters, Hiro and Peter especially, kept repeating the same character arch. There was no growth.
WorstUserNameEver - 4/17/2013, 11:48 AM

Nice to see someone else thinks season 3 wasn't that bad... was just too ambitious for the finance and talent available.

The worst season had to be the truncated season 2 (where Hiros' 'hero' was a white guy @SotoJuiceMan).

Stopped watching during season 4 so couldn't comment on the final season.

BigMikeReviews - 4/17/2013, 11:53 AM
No... just no. The series fizzled out after season 1
BlackIceJoe - 4/17/2013, 11:53 AM
I always thought they should make a spin-off called Villians. I think that would be cooler. You could make them if you wanted anti heroes. But I would love to see straight Villians and you need the army to take them down.
aRandomSinisterClone - 4/17/2013, 11:54 AM
and yesterday there were fake rumors FRIENDS was coming back to nbc. i think someone is a bullshitter at that company
MJPETTY7 - 4/17/2013, 11:55 AM
Loved Seasons 1 & 2. I enjoyed S3 a lot as well. S4 wasn't nearly as good, but had some great moments!
ParisSun - 4/17/2013, 11:57 AM
Watch Nashville and see all the Hayden P. flesh you desire. That girl has grown up well.
Gulon180 - 4/17/2013, 11:57 AM
anybody else think Hayden Panettiere's vajayjay is just ruined now that Wladimir Klitschko got to go 12 rounds with it?
shelbz - 4/17/2013, 12:01 PM
The only interest I have is if they relabel it as Hiros and have Hiro and Ando travel through time to right the wrongs only to find themselves stuck in a perpetual butterfly effect.

Sure it can cameo some of the other Heroes characters but Hiro and Ando were the heart of the show.
SoapDogg - 4/17/2013, 12:02 PM
I can't help but hear your comments in Comic Book Guy's voice every time I read them.
Morbius - 4/17/2013, 12:03 PM
As much as I would love for it to return just let it die its time has come and gone.
kevberg - 4/17/2013, 12:05 PM
@nomis and @WUNE

I just thought there was some great stuff , some stuff that wasn't But NOWHERE near as bad as the Fairweather fans are saying.

I STILL say the writers strike screwed the momentum of a lot of shows and Season two with all the focus on Hiro was the worst. Hiro was awesome...But in small doses. too much and became the Jar Jar of the show.

and I remember when everyone was saying when Brian Fuller came back to write in season 4 how its was going to save the show, then he leaves after a couple episodes..again.

The show had lot of great stuff and it wasn't just season 1 ( actually for me the pacing of season one was slow as [email protected])

shelbz - 4/17/2013, 12:07 PM
@SuspenseSmith never seen Dr. Who *shocker* but yea sure if that's the premise.

I always thought Hiro and Ando would be better on their own show traveling through time, killing Hitler only to find out now Russia started WW2 instead ect.

Would make for a great alternate universe to start fresh with.
InfiniteMonkey - 4/17/2013, 12:11 PM
@Gusto LOL!

They should remake this on HBO or Showtime and add a bit more grit, oh and nudity. The only way its going to have a truly cult following. [frick] the teeny boppers.
thewonderer - 4/17/2013, 12:11 PM
Season 1 is some of the best television in history.
Show4God1 - 4/17/2013, 12:14 PM
Im only half heartbroken by this. The part of me that thinks this is great is heartbroken because of the part of me that hates x-box will never get to watch it.
GeekyCheekyChic - 4/17/2013, 12:17 PM
if they can recapture the awesomeness of season one....go ahead and bring it back
nach1wan - 4/17/2013, 12:25 PM
god no, revive alphas instead... >_>
Ocelot - 4/17/2013, 12:26 PM
there's no need to beat a dead horse, the series started going downhill from season 3, they were running out of good ideas and plots and starting messing up the characters, in particular sylar. Shame as it was a good show, especially season 1.
fortycals - 4/17/2013, 12:29 PM
heroes suffered because of the trap of tv super heroes, the lack of money to produce SFX. Drama is okay if the pay off is good. Every time you were supposed to get a big battle alot was done off screen or very breif glimses of power displays. All that leads to anti climatic season finallies, which was always Heroes problem.
thommcg - 4/17/2013, 12:30 PM
Heroes was progressing fine until the season one finale contradicted what had been established in previous episodes. Downhill from there on.
fortycals - 4/17/2013, 12:30 PM
Which means this will be worse than it was on Regular tv.
SpideyQuad - 4/17/2013, 12:31 PM
If I remember right it was all one big "tease" just like Lost. It was obvious that it lacked a rudder. I really enjoyed season 1 like everybody, but it needed to grow from that point. That's where it went wrong in my eyes. They wanted to keep it grounded, but that's not what would happen in real life.
AC1 - 4/17/2013, 12:35 PM
I loved Season One, I thought Season Two was pretty good as well, Season Three was pretty bad, and I wasn't able to watch Season Four because they started airing it only at 2am on a school-day over here.
Ocelot - 4/17/2013, 12:38 PM
@fortycals yep still remember when I was looking foward to that big battle between sylar and peter, but what did I get instead, an off screen battle between the two from someone's pov where all you could see and hear were flashes of light and big explosions.
mattattack - 4/17/2013, 12:39 PM
I loved all the seasons, I don't get why everyone hated the after seasons. Sure season 2 was the weakest but the 2 seasons after we're awesome IMO.
AaronianKenrod - 4/17/2013, 12:40 PM
To everyone who keeps s
SuperSpiderMan5778 - 4/17/2013, 12:40 PM
why the fawk they didn't just continue the series is beyond me
shelbz - 4/17/2013, 12:43 PM
I watched Lost religiously and I can tell you the writers didn't know what they were doing. The finale was a joke, I would have much rather it been the dog's dream.
