NBC's HEROES Coming Back To Television As 13-Episode Miniseries Event

This news is hot off the presses. NBC has announced that Heroes will return for a 13-episode miniseries event in 2015. Details are scarce but what we do know is that creator Tim Kring is back and it will be titled: Heroes Reborn. Come share your thoughts.

Apparently during NBC's broadcast of the Winter Olympics there was a teaser for this Heroes Reborn mini-series event. Yeah, I didn't see it either. Anyway, NBC just officially announced the event and are holding back all the juicy details, such as the plot and which characters are or are not returning.
“The enormous impact Heroes had on the television landscape when it first launched in 2006 was eye-opening,” said NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke. “Shows with that kind of resonance don’t come around often and we thought it was time for another installment. We’re thrilled that visionary creator Tim Kring was as excited about jumping back into this show as we were and we look forward to all the new textures and layers Tim plans to add to his original concept. Until we get closer to air in 2015, the show will be appropriately shrouded in secrecy, but we won’t rule out the possibility of some of the show’s original cast members popping back in.”

The original series ran for four seasons until it was cancelled in February of 2010. The show got off to a hot start when it premiered in 2006. It was a "must watch," and even had that great tagline, “Save the cheerleader, save the world.” Everyone thing was looking up for Tim Kring's series about everyday people suddenly realizing they had extraordinary powers. Then the 2007-2008 WGA writers' strike knocked the thunder right out of show and when it returned it's sizable fanbase had shriveled up. Not to mention the show's writing and plot lacked the focus that the first season had. Let's hope Kring has learned from his past mistakes and Heroes Reborn makes that quantum leap to set right what once went wrong.

Experience the suspense, mystery, and electrifying twists as this astonishing series follows seemingly unconnected, ordinary people around the globe who discover they have extraordinary powers. As they come to terms with their unique abilities, their risky decisions will affect the futures of everyone around them …and the world. Join their epic journey in this seven-disc set packed with hours of fascinating and revealing bonus features, including the never-before-aired series premiere from show creator Tim Kring.

Kurne - 2/22/2014, 7:46 PM

Claire jumped off a building in front of a bunch of cameras the end :P

MrAisA - 2/22/2014, 7:47 PM

TheGambitFreak - 2/22/2014, 7:49 PM
Never watched more than 20 minutes of this series... Heard first couple of seasons were decent but the reason it got canceled was because it sucked ass.
Kurne - 2/22/2014, 7:50 PM
They're definitely bringing Peter back for a cameo or something.
ohsoserious - 2/22/2014, 7:52 PM
[frick] yeah!!!! Love this show just leave Ali later out if it cause she sucks
Kurne - 2/22/2014, 7:53 PM

First season was the only one well received by critics. I still don't understand the hate for 2 and 3.
CaptainAmerica - 2/22/2014, 7:54 PM
HOLY [frick] YESSSSSS!!!!
Kurne - 2/22/2014, 7:54 PM

Yeah, Larter was an embarassment. They killed her off then brought her back as a different character because they felt sorry for her the first time around :P
CaptainAmerica - 2/22/2014, 7:54 PM
Reboot it, have Hiro go back in time again!!!!
CaptainAmerica - 2/22/2014, 8:00 PM
Like a lot of shows, Heroes was hurt my the writers strike. Even after it picked up in season 3 it never recoverd viewer wise.
ADParker - 2/22/2014, 8:02 PM
Although it did go down hill after season one, it did have great potential. Definitely want to check this out (when and if it ever makes it over here.)
IFeelLikePablo - 2/22/2014, 8:06 PM
Kinda lost it at the end of the series but..
kevberg - 2/22/2014, 8:08 PM
Hope they bring back Masi oku-- Hiro was awesome. Adrian Pasdar as well.

Great news.

Franshu - 2/22/2014, 8:16 PM
First season was good, but from there on it was a terrible series
duncboy - 2/22/2014, 8:20 PM
This show started off as good, then went down hill with Season 2, and while it looked like Season 3 was going to get it back on track (first episode of S3 was cool), it never did.
incepshawn - 2/22/2014, 8:20 PM
As long as they have Sylar and Peter...[frick] yes. I hated that it just ended and can't wait for this. Awesome news.
nikgrid - 2/22/2014, 8:22 PM
Why? when this finished this series was shit.
Nomis - 2/22/2014, 8:23 PM
It should have NEVER been taken off the air!

@ bluedude - DC comics made a series of HERO' comic books that coincide with the show when it air.

WruceBayne - 2/22/2014, 8:23 PM
Heroes was a great show until the last couple of seasons. But I like this news and I will be checking this out.
nikgrid - 2/22/2014, 8:25 PM
I'm real happy for you Arrow and I'm gonna let you finish.....

It was.....but no it's definitely not now.
damntree - 2/22/2014, 8:25 PM
Time travel killed this show.
DimiPoint - 2/22/2014, 8:25 PM
That's really good news, i'm looking forward to this show
Nick56 - 2/22/2014, 8:26 PM
Meh. Lost interest after season 1. Show went completely downhill fast.
kevberg - 2/22/2014, 8:26 PM
OH yeah..

Find some fresh blood in the way of writers. DONT get that hack Bryan Fuller back. He may have wrote a handful of decent episodes, but he jumped ship twice on Heroes and he has a track record of doing that on other projects.
Destro749 - 2/22/2014, 8:27 PM
The first season was good mainly because the used the gimmick of save the cheerleader, save the world. I don't think they had any issue of how they would tie the story and people together. Like all shoes that use a gimmick, it gets old. Remember Prison Break?
AGoodHonestMan - 2/22/2014, 8:30 PM
Heroes is awesome! Loved the show. The writer strike was what killed it.
xeno - 2/22/2014, 8:30 PM
Just keep Jeph [frick]ing Loeb away from it and it will be great. Happily, he's too busy ruining Agents of SHIELD and strangling Marvel's other TV shows in their cribs to ruin another series of Heroes.
vtopa - 2/22/2014, 8:31 PM
Can they bring back the cast?
AGoodHonestMan - 2/22/2014, 8:32 PM
Hiro should've always have been the main character like the show originally had intended him to be. And yes, Sylar should've stayed dead after season one.
GUNSMITH - 2/22/2014, 8:34 PM
superbatspiderman - 2/22/2014, 8:35 PM
I was a huge fan of Heroes when it was on, but I have to admit that the last season was not very good. This news literally made my day. Now there can be a proper ending to Heroes other than the shitty one we got.
