I know pal. You and I have had some good discussion, by then to be interrupted by those "wars". Hopefully it'll stay like this for awhile, so that we, all of us, who enjoy coming here can have healthy debates.

I'm not stoked for this Evil Dead movie but I'm definitely interested in it. We'll see...

Campbell is the man! I'll take his words as a vow of trust, but "just as memorable as Raimi's original film." is a bit too much!

That marvelite x nolanite shit was stupid and boring as hell... CBM is way better this way.

And so I sit here typing away and realising that a whole new audience will probably never have seen the original on the dodgy VHS copies we had and being scared witless and quoting dialogue and having nightmares.
The hammer of time will come down and I'm faced with the ultimate truth that dammit, I got old !!!
I tried to shop Smart ..Shop S-Mart ...I really really did!

Well if Bruce approves than it must be good I hope, it would be confusing if they do evil dead 4 right after this remake for the people who don't know the series.
HULK2099
HULK2099 - 8/20/2012, 2:31 PM
They should make ash save them at the end which would lead to a evil dead 4
fedup

@dollstix, I assure you there are still plenty of us who only recently discovered Evil Dead (by recently I mean within the last few years) and did so by crappy VHS (though it did help that my family used to own a video store, lol). Will say I love it on bluray, though. I'm definitely giving the remake a chance, especially if it carries the Large Chinned One's seal of approval.

On another note, thanks to Galactus for cleaning up the site. The flame wars had me considering leaving the site, but it looks like I'll stay right where I am.

Bruce is great, best thing about Burn Notice, but he's being used here to get Evil Dead fans to see this new version. Don't know if that's going to work. I'll wait for the DVD myself. Actually, probably order it on pay per view and save the gas.

BigK1337
BigK1337 - 8/20/2012, 3:41 PM
Always was behind this remake/ reboot (can't decide which title) from the beginning due to it being a new Evil Dead movie. Now that the man, Bruce Cambell, is supporting this film, I have no shame in checking it out.

Also, there was a Marvelite/Nolanite War on this site so big that caused Galactus to put a crackdown on such antics? Wow, I have been off this site for a long time (save for the recent knowledge I received yesterday on James Gunn doing Guardians of the Galaxy).
Still, good idea for the Devourer to take out those clowns; can't make simple statement of liking a movie series better than the other without the opposing movie side coming in starting a flame war.
BigK1337
BigK1337 - 8/20/2012, 3:44 PM
@SuspenceSmith

Meh, I'll get sick of them if they decided to remake one more Carpenter movie. Either Escape From New York or Big Trouble in Little China will do it for me.

We can always do a good ol' fashion Marvel/DC argument . . . Oh wait, over sensitive guys who thought there was no fun in arguing over which universe is better decided to make editorials about how stupid and old that topic is. Yeah, good luck finding a fun page length argument to get behind on. I'm starting to miss the Ite Wars. :'(

Bruce doesn't get the credit he deserves for being a good actor. I think most base their opinion on the genre of films he is most known for, Evil Dead, Army of Dead, Bubba Ho Tep, etc. but he played the parts the way they were written. I think he does a great job in Burn Notice, which is outside of his normal type cast.

Yes, it looks like both sides of the feuding lost some of their trolls. Some of the comments that were reported for some individuals were pretty unworthy of reporting, so there must have been other stuff that wasn't reported.

C'mon moron. Grow a pair and get off your soapbox. You know for a fact that you'll go see every single remake/ reboot that'll come out. You know for a fact that you're a stupid hypocrite for getting mad at them for remaking Scarface when the 80's Scarface was a remake of a 1930's gangster movie. Stop whining, get off your couch, and wake up from the purgatory that is internet forums. If you were at all intelligent, you'd know that Hollywood's been remaking movie since before Hollywood WAS Hollywood. Heck, Evil Dead 2 is a remake of Evil Dead I. Yet again, stupid hypocrite. Yeah, you heard me.
Geektality
Geektality - 8/20/2012, 4:08 PM
It's funny how people are whining about this movie when Evil Dead 2 is a f*cking remake of The Evil Dead!!!!
BigK1337
BigK1337 - 8/20/2012, 4:21 PM
Actually, not a lot of people here are whining (unless you mean SOME people, which is pretty funny).

Though to be fair, Evil Dead 2 is a continuation to Evil Dead. It is just that the beginning of the film (first 5 to 10 minutes or so) is essentially an abridged remake to the first movie, and it is like that mostly due to the second film wasn't allowed to use stock footag of the first movie due to crap like movie licensing between the studios.
KnobGoblin
KnobGoblin - 8/20/2012, 4:39 PM
@Geektality; Once the prologue is over, Evil Dead 2 picks up exactly where Evil Dead left off. With Ash turning around, and the force slamming him into a tree.
