Next month, Pennywise returns to take revenge on the now adult members of The Losers' Club, and this new TV spot for It Chapter Two gives us a chilling idea of how he plans to go about it.

Though most of the footage here is taken from the recently released trailer, there are also a few new shots of the demonic clown stalking his prey - including a preview of a scene in which Bev (Jessica Chastain) encounters Pennywise (Bill Skarsgård) in his human form. Well, close to human!

Are you looking forward to another trip to Derry? Check out the spot below and drop us a comment in the usual place.

It Chapter Two hits theaters on September 5. You can have a look at some recently released stills from EW by clicking on the "view list" button below.

Pennywise is definitely not clowning around in It Chapter Two. “He’s scarier and he’s angrier,” notes BSkarsgård. “There’s a couple of very brutal things in the film.”
Director Andy Muschietti gathered the young actors who played the Losers in the first film (pictured: Chosen Jacobs, Finn Wolfhard, Jaeden Martell, Sophia Lillis, and Jeremy Ray Taylor) for scenes in It Chapter Two depicting the recovered memories of the adult characters.
All the other members of the Losers’ Club, including Richie (Hader) and Bill (McAvoy), don’t remember the traumatic events of their childhood. “When you leave Derry, something happens where you forget it all,” says McAvoy. “I think it’s like a [power] of Pennywise’s. Because if everybody could remember what he gets up to every 27 years through history, we’d go, ‘Hey, Derry’s really f—ed up, we should do something about that. We should send in the f—ing Army!”
They’re brought together by Mike (played by Mustafa), who is the one member of the Losers’ Club who still lives in Derry and needs the help of his childhood pals for a repeat match against the killer clown. “He’s trying to figure out what the hell’s going on in this town and what he can do to put an end to this cycle,” says Mustafa. “It’s an obsession for him.”
The Losers’ Club — James McAvoy as Bill Denbrough, James Ransone as Eddie Kaspbrak, Jessica Chastain as Beverly Marsh, Bill Hader as Richie Tozier, Isaiah Mustafa as Mike Hanlon, and Jay Ryan as Ben Hanscom  — reconvenes in Derry 27 years after facing off against Pennywise, who was beaten but not destroyed at the end of 2017’s It.
Pennywise is back to terrify the now grown-up Losers’ Club in in It Chapter Two (out Sept. 6), starring Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy, and Bill Hader, among others. Should IT 2 be a good film...look for it to give Joker a little boost.

Chicks dig a clown.

Wonder if we'll get the Ritual of Chud

@BrainySleep - I remember reading somewhere that Muschietti had said the Ritual of Chud was included in the film but not 100% as depicted in the book, which makes sense considering how trippy it is.

But I can't remember the exact quote or where I read the article so I suppose it might just as well have been bullshit. But considering how much he has mentioned including psychoactive drugs as plot devices for Mike Hanlon's in-depth knowledge of It (or at least thats what he previously said in interviews), I'm pretty sure it will be featured in some way, if only just to differentiate the climactic fight from the 80's fists'n'disco boss fight.

Really super psyched for this one. I really like getting updates for it but I have just one question...
How is this a CBM? Not that I really mind, but it always crosses my mind when I see an article on it.

@inkniron

We had posts for Taika Waititi’s new Fox Searchlight indie project, new Disney+ releases like Lady and the Tramp, and Lion King articles up the ying-yang.

If it’s a slow news day we get news that doesn’t really apply to CBMs.

@regularmovieguy - Fair point to ask on those as well but seeing as I don't give 2 shits about those movies or read their articles then I thought I'd ask here. And BTW, it's not an indie movie when it's being produced by Fox Searchlight.

@inkniron

“And BTW, it's not an indie movie when it's being produced by Fox Searchlight.”

Lol look at their budgets. You know what I mean when I say indie - their movies typically have like a 10-20 mil budget - they’re certainly not mid-budget movies or blockbusters “well actually” guy.

@regularmovieguy - I had no idea what you meant because I actually know what an indie movie is. The idea of labeling a movie as one based on its budget never crossed my mind. Hell, that crappy Valerian movie was in indie film and it cost a couple hundred million.

Love how unsettling Bill looks as Pennywise. He was perfect for the role.

@regularmovieguy - and according to a recent Bill Hader interview I saw, the freaky ass thing that Pennywise did moving his one eye ball independently in the first movie, it's not VFX, Bill Skarsgard can totally do that on cue in real life.

speaking of, Hader really does seem to be quickly inheriting the "really talented but also is even more legit nice than you think he could be" celebrity mantle from Tom Hanks lol

I would tease Pennywise the whole time and tell him that he looks like the Scarecrow from The Wizard of Oz, and just tell him to bugger off back to the yellow brick road.

Holy shit... okay it's generally seemed for awhile that Bill Hader was clearly the best lookalike to the established child cast, but going from THAT PHOTO which is a first for me, the guy they got to play grown up Stan looks like a damn clone.
Which, is kind of ironic, considering how the second half of the story goes (& assuming the movie will still do it like that).

I mean, it was never Chastain. I hoped she'd get the Bev part as much as anyone else, but Amy Adams does look significantly more like the original movie's Bev than JC does.

I really hope that WB don't decide to franchise this and turn Pennywise into the next Freddy Kruger or Jason Voorhees.

@bcom - they might just expand this into a steven king cinematic universe (or multiverse). With doctor sleep that could really work.
bcom

@Origame - well, apparently Steven King’s book all do exist in the same universe, but just because cinematic universes are all the rage doesn’t mean that a story our character needs one. It is a definitive story so WB should just leave it at that.

99.99% of franchises get progressively worse as the go on (the MCU, Mission:Impossibe and Fast & Furious franchises being the exception) so WB shouldn’t dive into temptation and try to milk more out of Pennywise than they should.

@bcom - not saying they should, just that seems to be the path. All these remakes and sequels were preceded by the dark towers adaptation, which is the basis for all these connections.

I hope this one is good (and scary!) first one was boring as F!. Skarsgard is a class act as Penny-wise but the whole flick had a real childish "Scooby-doo" vibe to it.
