James Wan Developing His MALIGNANT MAN Graphic Novel For Fox

Deadline report that James Wan (Fast 7, SAW, Insidious) will develop a big screen adaptation of his parasitic superpower-based BOOM! Studios comic Malignant Man for 20th Century Fox, with an eye to direct. More past the jump..

According to Deadline, Fox has acquired rights to James Wan's BOOM! Studios graphic novel, Malignant Man. The horror franchise maestro (who will next helm Fast & Furious 7 at Universal) will produce the film with Stephen Christy and Ross Richie, and is also hoping to direct. Malignant Man focuses on Alan Gates, "a cancer patient with a terminal diagnosis who is resigned to his fate until he discovers that his tumor is actually a mysterious parasite. Granted a second lease on life and incredible, otherworldly powers, Alan must fight against an evil army buried beneath society’s skin, all the while unlocking the secrets of his forgotten past".

This is what FOX should be doing. Taking something that people have no vested interest in, and then they can do what they want to it.
