Title Of The Next RESIDENT EVIL Film Is...

Director Paul W.S. Anderson attended the Beijing International Film Festival and discussed the plot and title for the Resident Evil: Retribution follow-up film. He also confirmed that Li Bingbing will reprise her role as Ada Wong. Come check it out.

At the Beijing International Film Festival, Paul W.S. Anderson announced that he'd like to film a portion of his next Resident Evil film in China. He also announced the title of the next film and gave a brief description of the plot.
Actress Bingbing Li will reprise her role as Ada Wong for the next installment of “Resident Evil,” according to director Paul W.S. Anderson. “Resident Evil 6″ or RESIDENT EVIL RISING will follow Alice (played by Milla Jovovich) and her crew as they rush to The Hive, where The Red Queen plots total destruction over the human race.

A return to Resident Evil was expected, especially since his last venture away from the franchise resulted in the disastrous, Pompeii. It may have bombed at the box office, but his last Resident Evil did not. The fifth film in the series pulled in a healthy $240 million worldwide.
The Umbrella Corporation’s deadly T-virus continues to ravage the Earth, transforming the global population into legions of the flesh eating Undead. The human race’s last and only hope, Alice (Milla Jovovich), awakens in the heart of Umbrella’s most clandestine operations facility and unveils more of her mysterious past as she delves further into the complex. Without a safe haven, Alice continues to hunt those responsible for the outbreak; a chase that takes her from Tokyo to New York, Washington, D.C. and Moscow, culminating in a mind-blowing revelation that will force her to rethink everything that she once thought to be true. Aided by newfound allies and familiar friends, Alice must fight to survive long enough to escape a hostile world on the brink of oblivion. The countdown has begun.

Resident Evil: Retribution will be released on DVD and Blu-ray December 21st. The film was directed by director Paul W.S. Anderson and stars Milla Jovovich, Michelle Rodriguez, Sienna Guillory, Oded Fehr, Bingbing Li, Johann Urb, Colin Salmon, Shawn Roberts, Boris Kodjoe and Kevin Durand.

YeezusWept - 4/21/2014, 12:22 PM

Nick56 - 4/21/2014, 12:23 PM
The RE films are my guilty pleasure movies. Just pure kick ass fun.
TheClemster - 4/21/2014, 12:23 PM
How The Matrix ruined what could have been a great franchise on par with The Walking Dead before its time
MrSotoMan - 4/21/2014, 12:23 PM
Wait...The Hive?

That was destroyed!
MrSotoMan - 4/21/2014, 12:24 PM
I would really....really....REALLY want to kill Capcom for saying this shit is ok!
Ramiel - 4/21/2014, 12:24 PM
I'm not going to lie, these movies are a guilty pleasure of mine. I just love seeing Milla kicking some ass. I'd love to see her in a MCU movie.
Prime - 4/21/2014, 12:25 PM
Just end this shit.
ALegendaryPanda - 4/21/2014, 12:25 PM
MrSotoMan - 4/21/2014, 12:27 PM
@ALegendaryPanda- The last RE movie I saw in theaters was the first movie...never again saw it in theaters. After that it's been straight rentals.
CaptainObvious - 4/21/2014, 12:30 PM
Will somebody just make a good adaptation of a video game already?
Ipitythefool - 4/21/2014, 12:30 PM
Who watches this shit?
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 4/21/2014, 12:30 PM
LOL from the banner I thought it was called

Resident Evil: Payback is a Bitch
PunkRockJesus - 4/21/2014, 12:30 PM
Whaaaaaa? This franchise still has a pulse??
YeezusWept - 4/21/2014, 12:30 PM

Totally agree. This franchise had so much potential. They even changed the games into shitty, over-the-top action sequences to feel like the movies. What's so hard about making a good, scary adaptation.

If it were a comic book being treated this liberally, some of you would be having a fit.
themidnightking - 4/21/2014, 12:31 PM
Eh. What's one more pile of shit among a foundation?
gaikinger - 4/21/2014, 12:32 PM
No Dredd sequel but we get like twenty of these?
MrSotoMan - 4/21/2014, 12:32 PM
What's funny is that Capcom is the one that supported these decisions to make Resident Evil like this since they've always wanted Resident Evil to have the same gameplay as Devil May Cry.
AsgardianHobo - 4/21/2014, 12:32 PM
Ughh.....These movies make money, so I guess I can't blame them for making more. But they won't be getting my money. Paul W.S. Anderson = Mediocrity
NoPhucksGiven - 4/21/2014, 12:32 PM
The Perfect Title would Be.

Resident Evil: Nobody Gives a [frick] About This Franchise

Gibman - 4/21/2014, 12:33 PM
The whole second half of Retribution was basically stolen from Aliens. And it should have been called Resurrection , " apocalypse, extinction, afterlife, retribution? Resurrection even goes along with the basic plot of the movie hope bunch of characters get "resurrected"
TheClemster - 4/21/2014, 12:34 PM
@ thedarkknight1939

wait isn't that the title ??? ;)

@ staryeezus

exactly all the potential was there for a great horror action movie super tense

and resident evil 2 could have been a great survival story in an urban environment

MrSotoMan - 4/21/2014, 12:34 PM
How [frick]ing hard is it to adapt the game into the movie? I mean my god the whole first game is about being isolated in a mansion! Why can't there be a director that can look at Alien or hell a damn horror movie for inspiration!!?!?
Mercwitham0uth - 4/21/2014, 12:34 PM
STOP... JUST [frick]ING STOP...

The first movie was alright but the others that followed were absolute pure grade A, stamped for approval by the national food critics board as rotting turds.
Nubase - 4/21/2014, 12:34 PM
the only way we will get a true resis movie is when assasins greed and splinter cell come out as those movies are produced by the games makers ubisoft, once they come out they will really show how bad these resisdent evils movies are
TheDesertGorilla - 4/21/2014, 12:34 PM
Resident Evil: Retribution was just beyond godawful.
DrDoom - 4/21/2014, 12:35 PM
What is so pathetic is that if they followed the plots of the games, and made them more traditional horror movies, the Resident Evil films could be good.
grif - 4/21/2014, 12:38 PM
even the games suck now
fettastic - 4/21/2014, 12:38 PM
Well of COURSE it will be called RESIDENT EVIL RISING! It's the shittiest of all possible titles!

I actually kinda liked Afterlife, but Retribution was a steaming pile of diarrhea. A complete and total waste of time. It managed to be both stupid and simultaneously destroy anything that had ever been good in the franchise.

I'm with virtually everone else on the planet...

JoeMomma29 - 4/21/2014, 12:39 PM
You know I was going to insult these franchise then I realized I have watched every single freakin movie and secretly I actually enjoy these crappy movies........
Yan1999 - 4/21/2014, 12:40 PM
These films are just good as independent films not related to the games. If you imagine that the evil corporation is not Umbrella, hence all of the game characters aren't themselves, just original characters, the films are OK. That's my opinion.
CorndogBurglar - 4/21/2014, 12:41 PM
So now they are going back to the Hive. Okay, this franchise has officially gone full circle and is now retreading movies they already made.

Hopefully this will be the last one.
MrSotoMan - 4/21/2014, 12:42 PM
Its time to reboot all of Resident Evil, every single thing of it.

After 4, Capcom just did a complete 180 and destroyed everything about Resident Evil! Everything! Operation Raccoon City, garbage. Resident Evil 6, garbage. Resident Evil Retribution, raped by garbage.

That year was the worst year I think I have ever seen for such a big video game franchise.
DaVinci31 - 4/21/2014, 12:42 PM

Oh Resident Evil, what have they done to you. . .

PunkRockJesus - 4/21/2014, 12:42 PM
It's the same with the Silent Hill movies. Video Game films, just like CBM's, it's not that hard to make them good, hollywood!
Roscoe182 - 4/21/2014, 12:43 PM
i think il stick to the capcom resi films.... resident evil damnation was amazing much better than any of the live action films.

but that was done purely by capcom.. and then that begs the question if that CGI film was so good what in the absolute hell happened to the games.
macfint - 4/21/2014, 12:43 PM
"dead horse?"
CorndogBurglar - 4/21/2014, 12:43 PM
@ Starfighter

Your question isn't exactly hard to figure out.

People are upset by these movies because while they keep making these horrible films, it is keeping a possible reboot from being made. A reboot that could possibly follow more along the lines of the original games. At least their tone.

Resident Evil is a popular game franchise, so a lot of people would kill to see the first 3 games or so brought to life. They don't even have to follow the games perfectly, but come one, they were horror games. Make a horror film.

So yeah. There's your answer. Don't be a dick.
skullboy - 4/21/2014, 12:44 PM
They shoulda have Milla Jovovich play the Black Widow instead of having her do this garbage series. A real shame.
Gusto - 4/21/2014, 12:45 PM
Reboot this shit with Leon!!!!!
