If The HULK's Fate Remains The Same At The End Of AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

If The HULK's Fate Remains The Same At The End Of AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

Yes, Kevin Feige and others did make clear that the Hulk will not be teaming up with the Guardians of the Galaxy and that there will not be a Planet Hulk film, but what if he still does head out into space? Hit the jump to check out my latest theory on where I believe the Hulk will be in phase 3!

The Incredible Hulk has been the topic of discussion's lately and people have been wondering, what's up with the Hulk in Phase 3? Well let's not waste no time and let me get right into it!

NOTE: Some of the things I am about to say may be considered SPOILERS for some so if you don't wanna know leave now!

So at the end of Avengers: Age Of Ultron we know two things (If Drew Mcweeny of HitFix sources are correct):

1. The Incredible Hulk

Banner continues to play a key role in things in this movie, and when the final war with Ultron spills onto the battlefield and out of the virtual realm, he has a major part to play. Unfortunately, that ends with him onboard a Quin jet on his way off the planet, with no way to immediately turn things around. He's going to have to ride out the trip. It's pre-programmed and he can't stop it.

2. Thor 3 Plot

More importantly, if my sources are correct, the end of "Age Of Ultron" sets up a difficult situation for Thor as Midgard and Asgard find themselves looking at a possible war. Could we be looking at the beginning of Ragnarok, brought on by Loki in the guise of Odin? Could the third film find Thor having to fight against the realm that he's spent so much time defending?

Hmm, so if it is true that Hulk is heading out into space, the Guardians of the Galaxy aren't the only people we know that's out there! It's our fellow Avenger Thor! So here's we're my theory comes in!

At the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron if Banner/Hulk is somewhere out in space I beleive Thor will make a promise to go and find him and return him to Midgard. He'll head back to Asgard to find out that Odin (Loki) is planning on taking control of or maybe even destoying Midgard which would mean we are in for RAGNAROK!  (Something in that context)

Tom Hiddleston described Ragnarok as not being the end of the world but "It's the end of time, and the universe, and space. And I think, if I am correct... Loki essentially, sets that in motion. And his motivation for doing so is intriguing and he almost becomes the incarnation of chaos, in a way...So I think that can be quite new." Tom is right! Loki has set Ragnarok in motion because it only
occurs when the All-Father is killed. Director of Thor: The Dark World Alan Taylor and Anthony Hopkins (Odin) confirms that Odin was killed.

Now that Loki has killed the All-Father, knowing him he would possibly want to destroy every realm so he could be the ruler of them all! But how would he do this? This is where the Hulk comes in! While the Hulk/Banner is floating around in space he would be seen by Heimdall which would make him alert Odin/Loki. Upon finding this out Odin/Loki will immedialty bring Banner/Hulk to Asgard as a prisoner. Does this sound fimiliar? Well it should becuase this is simlilar to what happend in the animated direct to video movie Hulk Vs Thor. In Hulk Vs Thor, Hulk was the closest one to bring the world universe to Ragnarok.

It could be very simliar in the film. Inparticularly by splitting the Hulk and Banner into two separate beings. Loki mind controlling the Hulk and using him as his warrior to destroy the realms and Thor will have to fight the against the Hulk and protect Bruce at the same time. If Loki sends the Hulk to attack earth we could possibly see some elements of World War Hulk.

In the end I believe (like the Ragnarok story in the comics) that Thor will die in this film only to be brung back to life by DNA replicating OR having his soul revived. I believe that the Hulk and Banner may stay split and go there seperate ways. Banner returnng to earth while the Hulk goes to Planet Skaar returning with his Sakaaran friends in Avengers 3 to help fight Thanos. The split will help build on the relationship between the Hulk and Banner as Mark Ruffalo describes it as, Bruce being afriad of the Hulk as the Hulk is afriad of Bruce.

This is just the outline, nothing major I really thought into. What do you think? Would you like to see this story happen on film? Thumbs up and sound off below!

Whoa I didn't actually know that Taylor confirmed that Odin is dead. Now I can't wait for Thor 3. I really wanna know how Loki killed the Ole Father.
NightWatcher - 7/23/2014, 3:06 PM
Interesting theory again Pantha! Nice work!

Ditto everything @McNy said...Holy Sh!t he's dead?!?!
HulkbusterNYC - 7/23/2014, 3:12 PM
Not gonna lie that whole concept would be pretty awesome
Talontd - 7/23/2014, 3:19 PM

Now that I'm over the shock of Odin...great concept AND article!

This was a great read, well done sir.
PietroJaximoff - 7/23/2014, 3:39 PM
Great speculation and it makes a lot of sense. Where did Alan Taylor say Odin is dead, though? I'm not calling you a liar, I just find it odd that none of the rest of us knew.
TChalla - 7/23/2014, 3:42 PM
Thanks guys! And yeah Odin is dead I out the link on the word 'Confirm'

here it is tho!
MexicanSexyman - 7/23/2014, 4:35 PM
Why does everyone want Hulk in space?
PietroJaximoff - 7/23/2014, 4:50 PM
Thanks for that link. The one in the article was linked, it just didn't show up as a different color so I didn't notice it.

Based on the interview with Anthony Hopkins, he seems to be done with playing Odin. Seems as though he's ready to give up the role. For Ragnarok to work the way you want, Loki would have to be disguised as Odin, correct? If that is the case, then Anthony Hopkins would have to reprise the role (although technically not) for a third time. What would change about your theory if Anthony Hopkins soon announces his detachment from the MCU?
GliderMan - 7/23/2014, 4:59 PM
I SERIOUSLY doubt Banner and Hulk will be separated.
MightyZeus - 7/23/2014, 7:37 PM
Interesting theory. Loved reading through this.

I like your theory, a lot. I'm not sure if I see them splitting Hulk/Banner and turning him into an antagonist for the majority of a movie. With that said, if the rumored "controlled Hulk" from AoU is true, and is received well, then there may be a stronger possibility. A true Hulk/Thor clash would be a thing of beauty, though.

I love how I spouted for a while that HULK will go off planet for a PLANET HULK film. Read my old posts I encourage it bc i did. So when this DOES happen it'll be hysterical. Plus PYM will show up in a PEGGY flashback especially if EDWIN JARVIS is being introd in her show. So when PYM does create the original AI tech that STARK reworks into DIGI JARVIS I hope all y'all losers that cried for years how that just won't happen and marvel wouldn't want that admit you were always wrong! There's a reason ANTMAN directly follows AVENGERS 2
dellamorte1872 - 7/26/2014, 4:23 AM
I called that this is the only way HULK can get defeated by ULTRON. HULK IS JUST TOO UNPREDICTABLE! He has to be jettisoned into space! Get the wild card off the board. It's an easy concept to understand. MARVEL loves misdirection pure and simple. Why would they confirm their plans years before the movie is made after all hahaha I wanna know if my posts were ever hacked bc the industry does sneak on here off and on just to see the audiences perceptions of what they're doing. It's good business to scour posts and see general consensuses. We woulda never got that HAIL TO THE KING one shot because how else would they ever realize a majority of fans hated that change? FEIGE loves it so why would he want to change it, no; MARVEL knows the fan base of CB enthusiasts was upset!

Fun article, I'm not sure what Banner's history is in the MCU though, because in Avengers it seems he has already "tamed" the Hulk pretty well, or at least he can change when his wants unless he's being controlled by Loki.... I'm not sure if they'll go the Avengers vs Hulk route, or if they'll separate Bruce and Hulk, I may be completely wrong though, haha

WorstUserNameEver - 7/26/2014, 6:42 AM
Cool theory, as others have said not sure about splitting Hulk and Banner but still better than a lot of the theories doing the rounds.
GliderMan - 7/26/2014, 8:15 AM
I think Loki could just kill Heimdall and replace him with someone loyal to him so that Hulk doesn't need to be mentioned.

MrReese - 7/26/2014, 2:51 PM
Awesome read dude!

As others have said I never knew Odin was dead 4 real.Wow! Loki will definitely start some shit up as Odin.Lol Loki is such a bad ass.As 4 Thor 3 they better have the Enchantress somewhere. At least a nod 2 her or something.

In all honesty though. She's still gonna be introduced somewhere down the line so I guess I wouldn't be 2 bummed out if she wasn't in Thor 3. :)
