COMICS: Check Out Artwork From The First Few Pages Of SUPERIOR IRON MAN

We've seen the cover already, but now some unlettered preview pages for Superior Iron Man #1 have made their way online, and they reveal that Tony Stark will be joined by She-Hulk in this issue -- but will they be battling a common enemy...or each other?

From what we've heard already, Tony Stark will be approaching villain territory when he relocates to the City by the Bay with a new suit of armor as the Superior Iron Man. Below is a couple of pages from the first issue, which reveal that he'll have some company in the form of She-Hulk. Will the first signs of him becoming a bit of a bastard manifest here? They look to be on amicable terms for now, but for how long..

Superior Iron Man #1 sends Tony Stark to San Francisco with a new outfit and a new perspective on life. “The Genius Bar costume is there for a reason,” Marvel editor-in-chief Axel Alonso tells EW. “The newly-transformed Superior Iron Man has very ambitious plans for the city that some of its residents embrace, but not all. Like the Superior Spider-Man, Superior Iron Man is a character that’s hard to root for.”

Superior Iron Man debuts this November, and will be written by Tom Taylor with art by Yildray Cinar.

I have no interest in any of Marvel's announced plans. Guess I'm sticking with Image for now.
JaiHo - 7/17/2014, 2:11 PM
"Superior"? Is Dan Slott writing all this stuff now?
Cles - 7/17/2014, 2:14 PM
It always depresses me a little when I realize how short my pull list has gotten. Then I come here, read some of the comics articles, and feel a good bit better about it.
TheBuoyWonder - 7/17/2014, 2:15 PM
This is stupid.
Cles - 7/17/2014, 2:17 PM
Speaking of which, who the [frick] came up with comic shop lingo? I almost put together a sentence about the pull list for my box, and the innuendo caught me a little off guard.
Phronesis - 7/17/2014, 2:18 PM
@JordanKing Agreed, but Marvel still has some pretty good tiles out. I highly recommend Uncanny Avengers.
kevberg - 7/17/2014, 2:18 PM
Whatever that White Armor is...that was crap--Is It Ultron or Iron Man...Thats why it sucks.
Nick56 - 7/17/2014, 2:20 PM
I read very few comics now, and I won't be reading this.

Marvel: Black Widow (decent standalone-ish spy series) and Amazing Spider-Man (very up and down, but its Spidey so ill read it)
DC: Superman Unchained (great), Superman/WW (also great), then occasionally read arcs of Batman, Aquaman, JL, & WW
Other: Terminator The Final Battle (solid sequel to Salvation), Angel & Faith (good follow up to the series) and X Files (very good continuation of the story)
JordanKing - 7/17/2014, 2:23 PM
@Phronesis Thought the first story arc - whilst interesting - didn't justify the much delayed release dates, so dropped it after that was over.
Bl00dwerK - 7/17/2014, 2:24 PM
@Nick56 Check out Elektra. It's every bit as good as BW, if not better (imo)...
InfiniteMonkey - 7/17/2014, 2:24 PM
Going to check this out.
I just want to see Tony's personality take a turn.

Whoever is the artist for Elektra should go back to arthouses and small museums of starving artists because, it sucks for a comic art the way he/she/it is doing it. LOL
JordanKing - 7/17/2014, 2:26 PM
Marvel aren't all bad though. Superior Foes of Spider-man is an excellent read, Daredevil is always top-notch and there is of course Hawkeye, a pity that one is coming to an end so soon.
Phronesis - 7/17/2014, 2:27 PM
@JordanKing Yeah, well. I would recommend more but I only read about 5 titles, and two of those are being canceled soon. I just really can't connect to comics, Marvel and DC, anymore. They try too hard at reaching out to a newer generation of readers and forget the old ones.
Phronesis - 7/17/2014, 2:30 PM
I'm reading-

Uncanny Avengers
Superior Foes (Very, very funny)
Hawkeye (Getting canceled soon)
Thor: god of Thunder (getting canceled soon)
And Black Widow (An awesome read)

Any other recommendations? I'm trying to catch up with New Avengers and Daredevil.
Gnoxorm - 7/17/2014, 2:33 PM
Damn. That artwork. Now that is legit black spotting and superb storytelling techniques. Never been interested in She-Hulk, but this art is worth while a definite read.
JordanKing - 7/17/2014, 2:33 PM
@Phronesis So true. The Thor stunt in particular reeked of politcal correctness and was done nothing more than as a publicity stunt (the latter of which is relevant for their overall announcement). Thor isn't even a mantle that gets passed on, it's his name. Does she get Odinson too I wonder.
Nick56 - 7/17/2014, 2:33 PM
@Bl00dwerK Will check that one out, thanks.
Franshu - 7/17/2014, 2:40 PM
AGh, that artwork looks stiff as hell...
TheRealRemyLebeau - 7/17/2014, 2:40 PM
This will be interesting.
sicknimon - 7/17/2014, 2:42 PM
Marvel Title that are good IMO

-Uncanny Avengers (fantastic)
-Superior Foes (fantastic)
-Thunderbolts (fantastic)
-Uncanny X-Men (Pretty Awesome)
-All New X-Men (started off with a boom, got a little slow, starting to pick up again)
-Magneto/Cyclops/Nightcrawler (have all been pretty good so far, very suprised how good Cyclops has been)
TheRealRemyLebeau - 7/17/2014, 2:42 PM
Artwork looks mighty good. @franshu you got San Francisco on your mind with all this stiff talk lol ;p
sicknimon - 7/17/2014, 2:42 PM
Nova and Guardians are ok..... oh oh oh The New Warriors has been pretty good so far too
sicknimon - 7/17/2014, 2:43 PM
2099 Spidie might be good, and sue me I'm excited for Superior Spiderman to return.
MrFrostxxx - 7/17/2014, 2:44 PM
BREAKING NEWS!!! IRON MAN will now be a TRANNY! Trying something
FearTheLiving - 7/17/2014, 2:50 PM
@Phronesis Since when is Hawkeye getting canceled soon?
Phronesis - 7/17/2014, 2:53 PM

Ending in October, sucks. He's one of my favorite titles
blackandyellow - 7/17/2014, 2:57 PM
Phronesis, Punisher and Magneto are both good.
SuperSomething616 - 7/17/2014, 3:02 PM
Deep Breath *sigh*
InfiniteMonkey - 7/17/2014, 3:12 PM
I hope this version of Iron Man is "superior" with the women because, we haven't seen any of his womanising ways lately.
Just want to see him in his yacht and just BANG tonnes of women like the old days.
Tanngnjostr - 7/17/2014, 3:24 PM
@JordanKing She doesn't get the Odinson...she already has the Wodendottir. Thor is still around, I don't get all the indignation for a natural evolution of Jason Aaron's run. The book gets a new #1, so? Jason Aaron's still writing it, you want to tell me he didn't deserve your faith for what he wrote til now? This Thor's run is already history and Aaron's plans for it are greatly long-lasting.
FearTheLiving - 7/17/2014, 3:29 PM
@Phronesis Could they just be ending the series and starting up a new volume? Seems odd that after the long wait they'd just be ending it, unless that's why they're ending it.

Eh going to hold out that they'll put out another volume and just renumber it. Love the book would be to sad to give up hope :(
dapug88 - 7/17/2014, 3:35 PM
Since some people are doing a list of which marvel titles they read here's mine: Daredevil, guardians of the galaxy, amazing spider-man, legendary star-lord. I might check out Dr. Strange and ant-man when they come out.
KalElOdinson - 7/17/2014, 3:35 PM
@Tanngnjostr I'm a Thor fan as you can see by my username and I've been through the Eric Masterson phase and even when they turned him to a frog. This seems different for some reason. Thor is supposed to be Marvel's heaviest hitter and HE continues to get dissed.
thatcoldblackcloud - 7/17/2014, 3:36 PM
They pulled me in with Marvel Now only to dissapoint 2 issues later. I'm interester in this Avengers Now thing. Superior Iron Man sounds like fun. Marvel pulling me in again, let's see if this time I stay in.
BlindJustice - 7/17/2014, 4:02 PM
Well, at least it appears that I'm not missing anything since I stopped reading new comics. I guess I'll stick with my boxes and boxes of back issue classics for now.
TheOverlord - 7/17/2014, 4:10 PM
The white armor is sick. The story sounds like it sucks, though. Oh well.
TheOverlord - 7/17/2014, 4:12 PM
I'm all for shaking up the Avengers line-up once in a while, but this sounds very gimmick-driven. Has me nervous. I'd like to see something like "Cap's Kooky Quartet" last for a few years, not a random collection of gender- and race-swapped heroes that lasts for one arc.
