New IRON MAN 3 Promo Art Teases Additional Suits

Teasing what appears to be additional suits of armor, or villains, in one of their backgrounds, the foreground of recent Iron Man 3 promo artwork spotlights Mark XLII, Iron Patriot and War Machine!

Marvel and director Shane Black’s “international, crisis thriller,” Iron Man 3, is gearing up for a big marketing push as many annual events, like Super Bowl, approach in addition to the threequel’s anticipated release date. From stills and posters to new footage, new promo/concept art is also expected. Mostly spotlighting Mark XLII, Iron Patriot and War Machine, furthermore, the latest comes via Trend International, teasing what may be first visuals of the actioner's secondary foes!

As aforementioned, Super Bowl XLVII is among the many events forthcoming before Iron Man 3 hits theaters this summer. And anonymous sources (not exclusively) suggest that Paramount Disney will release a poster and a brief teaser of a 60-second TV spot, a week before the big game-day. Anyhow, what do you think of the background armors featured in the first artwork above?

Marvel Studios’ “Iron Man 3” pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man? Starring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale with Jon Favreau and Ben Kingsley, “Iron Man 3” is directed by Shane Black from a screenplay by Drew Pearce & Shane Black and is based on Marvel’s iconic Super Hero Iron Man, who first appeared on the pages of “Tales of Suspense” (#39) in 1963 and had his solo comic book debut with “The Invincible Iron Man” (#1) in May of 1968. “Iron Man 3” is presented by Marvel Studios in association with Paramount Pictures & DMG Entertainment. Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige is producing & Jon Favreau, Louis D’Esposito, Stephen Broussard, Victoria Alonso, Alan Fine, Charles Newirth, Stan Lee & Dan Mintz are executive producers. The film hits May 3, 2013, & is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. Marvel Studios will also release “Thor: The Dark World ” on November 8, 2013; “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” on April 4, 2014; “Guardians of the Galaxy” on August 1, 2014; “Marvel's The Avengers” sequel (title TBA) on May 1, 2015; and “Ant-Man” on November 6, 2015!

Haha Jaysus...46 other's gonna be just like the old 90's cartoon! Can't wait to see how they use this whole concept heading into Avengers 2....many suit changes for different needs!
ipookorn - 1/25/2013, 6:21 AM
Hank Pym takes the tech used to control the 46 other suits upgrades it to AI and it opens the door to Ultron
jimoakley666 - 1/25/2013, 6:25 AM
I wonder if J.A.R.V.I.S. will eventually become either Vision or Ultron.
blvdnoise - 1/25/2013, 6:27 AM
@jimoakley666 Hmmmmmm.
dylanmm5 - 1/25/2013, 6:28 AM
So the other remote-controlled suits will like make up for the others 'Marks'? All different designs/colors/abilities? No need to explain each of their purpose?... If so..... AWESOME!!!
MrYurMomm - 1/25/2013, 6:29 AM
Thats what im thinking, IF they dont introduce Hank Pym, because it would make sense to the masses if Jarvis be made into a physical butler that Tony can interact with, like a robot buddy of his own suit. or something along those lines.

glad tony made a new war machine I liked the other but not the fact it was a hammer version
Valandil - 1/25/2013, 6:44 AM
War Machine looks cool (although I still prefer the IM2 version) but Iron Patriot looks meh... I hope the black version has more screen time.
TheFascinatingMan - 1/25/2013, 6:46 AM
Interesting. That one armor with the claws is kind of dumb looking though. Also I think the one on the left kind of looks like the Iron Monger.
cbmf25 - 1/25/2013, 6:52 AM
I just wanna know when we are going to see the hulkbuster armor.
Marqy - 1/25/2013, 6:55 AM

Spidey91 - 1/25/2013, 7:01 AM
the one with the claws must be the Mark-27 Nutcracker :P
Marqy - 1/25/2013, 7:05 AM

Ahhh yes :D ... Tony calls it "The Bancock special"
ipookorn - 1/25/2013, 7:09 AM
Doesn't the Bangkok special shoot ping pong balls?
campblood - 1/25/2013, 7:11 AM

davideodus - 1/25/2013, 7:14 AM

NightForce - 1/25/2013, 8:05 AM
Cool art. A teaser a week before the Super Bowl? So that means two days until a new teaser! Sweet.
marvel72 - 1/25/2013, 8:09 AM
pretty good, loving all the different armours.
R888 - 1/25/2013, 8:10 AM
Loving the new suit everytime I see it
Jollem - 1/25/2013, 8:32 AM
i wish the mark vanilla coke was gonna be gold like in the promo art. same way i would have liked for cap in the 'vengers movie to look like how he did in the promo art. not too derpy
SaxoWolf - 1/25/2013, 8:51 AM
ohhhhhhh it's good to be back!

NightForce - 1/25/2013, 9:15 AM
@jollem it IS gold. It was only that vanilla color at comic con. It's gold in the trailer.
Jollem - 1/25/2013, 9:32 AM
^just watched the trailer. it does look goldish sometimes and not so dijon mustard-y. those marvel studios folks sure do like to screw around with their movie versions of stuff
CoughCough - 1/25/2013, 10:30 AM
We need to see Hulk buster.
StSharp - 1/25/2013, 10:53 AM
Im not liking War Machines suit...the grey parts that extend to the back on his head make him look like he shaved part of his hair if he had any lol
And that gun on his shoulder looks so weak and unthreatening! Their original design was absolutely perfect!
It had weight, it looked intimidating. What more could you ask for!
This ones just eh...
DVonShakari - 1/25/2013, 11:40 AM
I'd love to have any one of those suits but as far as my personal favorite...War Machine...War Machine is the truth.
DVonShakari - 1/25/2013, 11:41 AM
@Monkeyballs....that would be a pretty awesome idea. They'll probably turn some sleeper character in to Vision for sure.
AmazingFantasy - 1/25/2013, 12:59 PM
Bring it.

Mandarin better be good, we better see JARVIS i to something soon. Or atleast Hulkbuster.
unknownfacts - 1/25/2013, 1:51 PM
I have my doubts but people are going to like this no matter what because it's the first phase 2 and it leads to Avengers 2.Not to mention the sweet after credits scenes.
TheFox - 1/25/2013, 1:58 PM
And to think, people thought Iron Man 2 overdid it with the armor stuff...

Logan5 - 1/25/2013, 6:25 PM
Is it roughly 13 weeks now? I cannot wait!
mgeoff88 - 1/25/2013, 8:12 PM
Badass promo art! What are those other Iron Man armors in the second picture???

I haven't seen anything like those in the comics.
NightForce - 1/26/2013, 8:53 AM
a brief teaser of a 60-second TV spot, a week before the big game-day.
Does this mean there will be a new teaser out tomorrow?
