REAL LIFE: Fan Builds Functional IRON MAN Gauntlets

REAL LIFE: Fan Builds Functional IRON MAN Gauntlets

While they don't quite shoot the same sort of repulsor rays we're used to seeing in the Iron Man comic books and movies, a firm that specialises in building props such as this one has created working gauntlets that pack enough of a punch to burst balloons!

Created by the super talented Patrick Priebe, what you see in the video below really is a working Iron Man gauntlet. It may only have enough firepower to take down a balloon, but if this is what someone who builds props can create, who knows what the military are coming up with right now? More details on Patrick's work can be found by heading on over to Laser-Gadgets.

I have a picture some from E3 that I took with a welder that created a precise replica War Machine, that opened and closed to suit in and out.

DaddyTuesday - 1/21/2013, 11:27 AM

Avenged99 - 1/21/2013, 11:33 AM
th military already have such a weapon called the "ELECTROMAGNETIC RAILGUN" and also Laser weapons designed to ignite and destroy enemy targets. check them out, pretty acceptional.
JredTheRed - 1/21/2013, 11:49 AM
Pantera woot woot! and that is badass as hell....I want one now!....dammit sometimes i wish i was a spoiled lil rich boy that could get anything he wanted.....

@cipher - making it out of yuengling cans? don't get urself down anything with yuengling stamped on it is bound to be good. Speaking of which, I can't find it anywhere out west....not Texas....not Cali...not Utah...ugh starting to miss my east coast beer.

I knew it was only matter of time before technology would catch up with movies. This is sweet as
jimpeachey - 1/21/2013, 12:18 PM

valeriesghost - 1/21/2013, 12:53 PM
GRIF! Welcome back bud!
NorseGod - 1/21/2013, 1:07 PM
Let me know when he can saw a car in half.

Just kidding, that's pretty cool!
HarrisonBergeron - 1/21/2013, 1:41 PM
It's cool, but the "capabilities" in the vid would be really easy to fake.

Even if it is real, the science FICTION of Iron Man is the power source. All of the tech to make the full armor exists, its the tiny power source that never runs out that has yet to be developed.
TheTank - 1/21/2013, 1:59 PM
The actual gauntlet is impressive being someone built the mechanics at home, but all they did for the laser is heist a blue ray diode. I used to have blue laser from Wicked Lasers and you could pop balloons and burn holes in things you kept it steady on an object for like a day lol.
TheMadman - 1/21/2013, 2:16 PM
My brother built a better one, doesn't have an exoskeleton, but it can bore a hole through a wall in a matter of seconds. Or set it on fire. Just depends.
FirstAvenger - 1/21/2013, 2:28 PM
yea Grif changed his name back!
jessepostal - 1/21/2013, 2:34 PM
I live about an hour away from where the yuengling brewery in Pottsville PA is. Town smells terrible and the lager tastes completely different. Never drink it in Pottsville, it's disgusting
TheAmazingSpidey63 - 1/21/2013, 2:35 PM
[email protected]! Yoss is in the house with his unrivaled randomness AND classy, classy T&As....@yoss, sir, God bless ya, brah! ;D

Stay EPIC, my friends!!
LAXtremest - 1/21/2013, 3:11 PM
Pretty decent tech... Your cycles per second were a little low... You coulda doubled up your rotations... Refocused the repulsor energy through ionized plasma channels... It's effective, not very efficient. It's a passible knock off.
