Stan "The Man" Lee. How can you not love this man?
ruadh - 4/25/2013, 3:40 PM
@teabag....awesome! THanks for that entire post.
80sFace - 4/25/2013, 3:41 PM

80sFace - 4/25/2013, 3:42 PM
...and Tea, don't worry I'm not trying to get in you
TheSuperguy - 4/25/2013, 3:45 PM
He's just an awesome, nice guy. He knows how to make a good comic book.
80sFace - 4/25/2013, 3:50 PM
@tea, I didn't say I didn't fantas-- I mean, it didn't cross my mind. What else is this tub of vaseline and box of wine for?
SuperSam - 4/25/2013, 3:54 PM
I'll keep my eyes open for his cameo. Those are always entertaining.
OrgasmicPotatoe - 4/25/2013, 3:54 PM
Does he have a cameo in Iron Man 3 ?
missalexis - 4/25/2013, 3:57 PM
Any CBMers in the Bay Area? Stan the Man is appearing at San Jose's Big Wow! comic convention on Sunday May 19th for autographs and pictures and allegedly a special panel!
Cass808 - 4/25/2013, 4:00 PM
I managed to grab an early showing today. wasnt actually overly impressed, i think i built it up too much in my head before seeing it. Was still a definite improvement on no.2, but better than Avengers? not so sure, prob put it on the same level as Thor.

Everyone has their own opinion though, all comic book fans should see it.

@OrgasmicPotatoe yea he does, its pretty funny as well.
marantaz - 4/25/2013, 4:01 PM
Ya know, its one thing when a comment thread degenerates into a flame war with some butt hurt a-hole posting spoilers all over the place, but when a thread degenerates into a Teabag date line and talk of actual butt hurting, I have to insist on someone making things right with some BOOBS!!
Yeah, I'm looking at you, Tea! But, not that way...
FOOM - 4/25/2013, 4:14 PM
Stan Lee. Great Promoter of Jack Kirby's genius under the banner of Marvel/Stan Lee.
exe - 4/25/2013, 4:18 PM
Wrong Stan. Downey was not born to play Iron Man, i can see a lot other actors that can play Stark, though not that amusing. Downey was born to play himself!
missalexis - 4/25/2013, 4:18 PM
@sKeemAn (and other interested parties) here is the link:

Tickets for the con are only like $20 and the tickets for Stan are very reasonably priced. I went to this con last year and it is smaller than WonderCon but there is actually a focus on comics! Looks like they have a good cosplayer lineup too.
FOOM - 4/25/2013, 4:20 PM
BTW, I've also seen Iron Man 3 and while it is pretty good it doesn't compare to The Avengers. And I expect MOS will do better at the box office this year.
As for where Stan Lee fits in with a cameo, I'll let you be the judge of that.
Hawksblueyes - 4/25/2013, 4:22 PM
I'm just about sick and tired of having of wait weeks longer than the rest of the world to see Marvel's movies. I feel like the dude who is last in line to sleep with his date.
Hawksblueyes - 4/25/2013, 4:30 PM
I don't mind waiting too damned much tea. She's not very pretty now that I think about it. :O
FOOM - 4/25/2013, 4:46 PM

Agree with everything you said in that post. Disappointing end credits scene again probably because we have stupid expectations about what to expect movie upon movie. Still, good film which should make most people happy.
phoenixforce9 - 4/25/2013, 4:50 PM
@ teabag

The movie was pretty spectacular! The funniest and most clever of the Ironman movies. You really do get an insight into who Tony is apart from the suit. He IS Ironman and not just because of the suit. The end fight and what he does after was pretty symbolic. As for the end credits... It was funny but not shawarma funny.

But boy was the action good!
spidey1994 - 4/25/2013, 4:52 PM
@teabag Awesome to hear it's great! I'm seeing it with some buddies tomorrow!

"Plus most of the crap the spoiler guy spurts out is misinformed"

216manofsteele - 4/25/2013, 4:56 PM
Thanx Tea that little shit had me nervous
spidey1994 - 4/25/2013, 4:58 PM
@teabag Does the twist make sense with what's going on in the movie?
spidey1994 - 4/25/2013, 5:02 PM
@teabag Ok nice, so pumped to see it! :)
neoroz - 4/25/2013, 5:02 PM
I think I must of bigged the film up too much cos now im slit my wrists disappointed, maybe it was the 3D, I don't know but didn't find it THAT funny, couldn't get into it, no woah! moments, unfortunately I could go on. Im gona go see it again next week in 2D and with a 'it was crap' mentality but does anyone agree with me?
216manofsteele - 4/25/2013, 5:10 PM
Ugh 1 week left its like waiting for Christmas with every premiere
neoroz - 4/25/2013, 5:11 PM
Yeah I don't recommend 3D, some bits were cool like the snow scenes and the suit flying to tony but I think it took it away from the visual effects. Cant fault that at all.
phoenixforce9 - 4/25/2013, 5:28 PM
don't watch it on 3D. 2D works perfectly fine. I'm going to see it again tonight!
Jollem - 4/25/2013, 5:29 PM
my expectations are pretty good because i didn't think the first two were anything great. they're okay, tho
Vadakin - 4/25/2013, 6:05 PM
If you're a fan of Iron Man beyond these movies, avoid IM3 like the [frick]ing plague. You will only get pissed off. This movie is not for Iron Man fans.
CaptainHulk3 - 4/25/2013, 6:08 PM
Thanks for the reviews @Teabag & the rest of the guys from around the world!!! God Save the Queen! Still waiting patiently here in the US!!!
CaptainHulk3 - 4/25/2013, 6:12 PM
@Vadakin agree that fans never get what we want but relax bro its not life & death! Take your kids to the movies eat your popcorn & be happy to be alive! IF YOU ARE A DC TROLL THAN STFU!!!!!!!!! STOP THIS PETTY BS!!! ITS A MOVIE...................bro......................A MOVIE!!!!!
Vadakin - 4/25/2013, 6:17 PM
It's a wasted opportunity is what it is. To do what they did to the Mandarin is unforgivable. I happen to like both Marvel and DC and I've been waiting for Mandarin to show up ever since he was hinted at in IM1. But this....[frick]ing awful. It's like that JJ Abrams Superman script where Lex Luthor was from Krypton. That bad.

Aside from that, the rest of the movie has some good bits but the plot is weak as hell, the extremis arc comes off goofy as hell. This is the worst of the Marvel movies by far. It's such a shame too because this could have been something special.
TheGreenBastard - 4/25/2013, 6:28 PM
I honestly don't care for the man. He put his name on other peoples creations as co-creator, and flat out stole credit for some. The man slithered his way to the top on the backs of the true geniuses, and stole plenty of credit. His solo creations like striperella, just imagine, some crappy cartoon movie, who wants to be a superhero, and superhumans are all flops.
CaptainHulk3 - 4/25/2013, 6:40 PM
Agreed!!! They could have made it 100x better! Its Coperate Hollywood! One day someone will get smart & give us the movies, games, hopefully theme parks & true brand loyalty! I'm in my early 30's so I've learned to dumb down my expectations!
TheGreenBastard - 4/25/2013, 7:11 PM
Angry dc trolls on a marvel thread, angry marvel trolls on a dc hard to keep up.
ScottMontgomery - 4/25/2013, 7:28 PM
@exe The guy created the character of Iron Man I think he knows who is perfect for the part and who is not...
phoenixforce9 - 4/25/2013, 7:28 PM
At some point you have to separate the comics from the movies. The twist will definitely be polarizing, no doubt about that. But to be completely honest I didn't care much for it. In the end you gotta ask your self this "Who did you came to see?" I certainly didn't watch the movie for the villain. I came to see Ironman/Tony Stark and that I got a lot of.

Vadakin - 4/25/2013, 7:34 PM
@UniBeam11 I did support the movie and I did see it...and it wasn't good. Actually, you'll probably enjoy it if you're NOT an Iron Man fan. Anyone who knows Iron Man outside the movies and has been waiting for Mandarin is going to be pissed. The film will get good reviews from critics who don't know or care about Iron Man beyond RDJ (who does give a good performance as always) and if you don't give a shit about comic book Iron Man, fair enough, go ahead and enjoy.

But man, they [frick]ed up the Mandarin as bad as Arnie [frick]ed up Mr. Freeze. I like DC, I like Marvel and I couldn't wait to see Iron Man 3. But what Shane Black has done...the masses will eat it up and the comic book geeks will get pissed off, this time with good reason.
TheGreenBastard - 4/25/2013, 7:37 PM
No, Jack Kirby, Don Heck, and Larry Lieber created Iron Man, Stan Lee just attached his name to it.
Vadakin - 4/25/2013, 7:37 PM
@phoenixforce9 I came to see the Mandarin. A hero is only as good as his villain and I've been waiting for Mandarin since Iron Man 1 introduced the Ten Rings organisation. Of course RDJ as Tony Stark is always good to watch, but this is the film with Iron Man's arch enemy. Imagine if they had done this to the Joker. Or Red Skull. Heck, Dr. Doom in the F4 movies was better than this.
