John Carter of Mars

John Carter of Mars John Carter (of Mars) is a scfi character created by Edgar Rice Burroughs who finds himself transported to the red planet, and due to the lesser gravity on Mars, he is able to perform superhuman feats of strength--particularly amazing leaps across great distances. The character is enduring, having appeared in various media (including comic strips and books) since his 1912 debut in a magazine serial. In the forthcoming 2012 film adaptation of the series, John Carter, Carter is played by Taylor Kitsch, with the role of Dejah Thoris to be played by Lynn Collins.
