Judge Samples Of All 22 Tracks From The DREDD Soundtrack

Scottish composer Paul Leonard-Morgan (Limitless) has been tasked with creating the score for the new Dredd movie. Hit the jump to listen to thirty-second samples of all twenty-two tracks.

The future America is an irradiated waste land. On its East Coast, running from Boston to Washington DC, lies Mega City One- a vast, violent metropolis where criminals rule the chaotic streets. The only force of order lies with the urban cops called “Judges” who possess the combined powers of judge, jury and instant executioner. Known and feared throughout the city, Dredd (Karl Urban) is the ultimate Judge, challenged with ridding the city of its latest scourge – a dangerous drug epidemic that has users of “Slo-Mo” experiencing reality at a fraction of its normal speed.

During a routine day on the job, Dredd is assigned to train and evaluate Cassandra Anderson (Olivia Thirlby), a rookie with powerful psychic abilities thanks to a genetic mutation. A heinous crime calls them to a neighborhood where fellow Judges rarely dare to venture- a 200 story vertical slum controlled by prostitute turned drug lord Ma-Ma (Lena Headey) and her ruthless clan. When they capture one of the clan’s inner circle, Ma-Ma overtakes the compound’s control center and wages a dirty, vicious war against the Judges that proves she will stop at nothing to protect her empire. With the body count climbing and no way out, Dredd and Anderson must confront the odds and engage in the relentless battle for their survival.

The film opens in 3D September 21st.

It's got that trent/nin the fragile sound and feel to it

Sounds a tad bit like Trent Reznor's sound.

But I prefer Silvestri's score on the original film a lot more.

What a load of Techno crap!

The original film was poor but the music was outstanding, especially the Mega City music. This new film just looks so cheap, the city doesn't look futuristic and now the music sounds like annoying techno... Meh!

Ceejay, you're a man of one note.

love this soundtrack Dredd needs a techno hard edge music.

Agree with jazzman. Music needs to be hard edge and futuristic. Silvestri´s soundtrack sounds too damn patriotic for my taste. Blade Runner type of music would have been awesome also.

I kinda would have like to see more futuristic set up for this film too. Somehow the gangsters running in normal T shirts and baggy pants and driving normal cars just dont fit in that Dredd movie but i dont judge before i´ve seen it.

No Anthrax "I Am The Law"? Doesn't seem right to me!

The 'Taking over Peach Trees' will be my big fav, I think...

Sounds like The Dust Brothers' excellent Fight Club score, given a doing over by The Prodigy- perfect for Dredd.

If Ceejay really like the Stallone film's music, I hope he caught The Edinburgh Military tattoo at the weekend- it was choca with that kind of crap. Not very futuristic or filmic, though; and certainly nothing that would propel a modern action film.
