COMICS: 'Superwoman' And 'The Doom Patrol' Featured In JUSTICE LEAGUE #32 Preview

In this first look at Geoff Johns (Aquaman) and Doug Mahnke's (Green Lantern) Justice League #32, we see a very pregnant Superwoman still in jail and the formation of The Doom Patrol as the likes of Robotman and Elasti-Girl make their "The New 52" debuts...

Lex Luthor continues his acclimation to his life as a one of the world’s greatest heroes as they search for the mysterious power threatening to unravel our world. But are his sights really set on the Dark Knight? And are the Dark Knight’s set on him? Plus, someone else is targeting Luthor and his new allies – a man who believes he is Luthor’s superior in every way...and he may be right! Here comes The Chief and his treacherous Doom Patrol to The New 52!

Looks cool
LordOfTheZegaRealm - 7/28/2014, 4:33 PM
*Sigh* News gets so slow after comic con. :(
SimpleeComplex - 7/28/2014, 4:34 PM
"Robotman" , "Elastigirl", "Superwoman"... LMAO more of the "noun/descriptive word+man/woman/boy/girl" formula for comic names. So corny and played out.
BlackBolt72 - 7/28/2014, 4:34 PM
Yay my first first. Maybe this will be mu first comic book I have read in 25 years.
CherryBomb - 7/28/2014, 4:35 PM
Oh wow I'd actually love a Doom Patrol movie!
RobertLiefeld - 7/28/2014, 4:38 PM
This artwork is ok, but I think comic book artistry hit its peak in the 90's.
BlackIceJoe - 7/28/2014, 4:39 PM
I was so happy to see the Doom Patrol in the last issue. I really want to see the DP get their own comic book series. I really would like to see Mento get to shine. But sadly I didn't see him. So I guess him and Elasti-Girl aren't married. It would been great to see that relationship again. Plus Beast Boy was their adopted son and I don't think any of that history exists either. Which in my opinion sucks. I also would like some day to see a Doom Patrol movie. But I know that won't ever happen.
CaptainDC52 - 7/28/2014, 4:40 PM
Superwoman is kinda hot!
CaptainDC52 - 7/28/2014, 4:42 PM
I don't like Lex knowing that Bruce is Batman. That needs to get resolved eventually! A Zatanna mind wipe, will do the trick.
mbembet - 7/28/2014, 4:43 PM
the new 52: only for retards!
redkrypton - 7/28/2014, 4:53 PM
Strange Elasti-girl. Bizarre and walking Chief. Arnold Drake would roll over in his grave.
PAF - 7/28/2014, 4:53 PM
What's wrong with Elasti-Girl?
staypuffed - 7/28/2014, 4:55 PM
Where's Ivan Reis when you need him? Mahnke's just not that good.
lucio7lopez - 7/28/2014, 5:24 PM

What?? Manhke is awesome!!
XF14 - 7/28/2014, 5:26 PM
Hey Mbembet!

I think DC lacks in major ways, but there's a difference between intellectually unimpressive versus continuity/creatively inefficient.

I'm sure even the mentally unique have more detailed thought processes.
staypuffed - 7/28/2014, 5:26 PM
I've never been a fan. This is especially underwhelming.
staypuffed - 7/28/2014, 5:26 PM
Don't even bother, @XF14, he says that shit on every single New 52 thread.
XF14 - 7/28/2014, 5:32 PM
C'est la vie.
Enki - 7/28/2014, 5:33 PM

There was an Elasti-Girl in Disney's The Incredibles.

I think I can already hear Disney's legal department prepping up.
staypuffed - 7/28/2014, 5:53 PM
DC's Elasti-Girl was created in 1963. You were saying?
pesmerga44 - 7/28/2014, 6:02 PM
So how much you want to bet the Doom Patrol is going to go evil or already is. This whole set up is creepy evil vibe to me definitely not heroic.
OrionPax - 7/28/2014, 6:03 PM
Always loved the Doom Patrol stories! Always a little weird but cool!
pesmerga44 - 7/28/2014, 6:18 PM

Ya you would say that wouldn't you. Some of the worst art in the comic book industry came out in the 90's and Liefeld was one of the major contributors of it.

Just a few examples of Liefeld's terrible art and also examples of what was rampant back in the 90's in the comic industry. Gigantic guns and shoulder pads, unbelievable proportions on the human body or the body being contorted in unnatural ways generally women and women being put in the most ridiculous outfits ever like this gem Invisible Woman wore in the 90's

Chekkarma - 7/28/2014, 6:32 PM
Liefeld Art...AHHHH!!!'

darklighter1 - 7/28/2014, 6:36 PM
Ummm what's you're point? That last Sue Storm outfit should be her standard uni to this day.
gurugeorge - 7/28/2014, 7:01 PM
The Doom Patrol is one of the best things to ever come out of DC, such a weird team. The originals were great, Morrison's revamp was great. Hope this matches up.
SwanRonson - 7/28/2014, 7:15 PM

These characters were created 50 years ago, get over it.
Enki - 7/28/2014, 7:54 PM

I stand corrected then.

But in that case, WB should have sued Disney.

Rita's had a little botox, I see.....
SimpleeComplex - 7/29/2014, 2:59 AM
@Swan. Welcome to the 21st century, it's waitig for you. It's not like these are main characters like Superman, Batman or Spider-man who will always be relevant. But part of updating a character (lesser known ones) for a new generation is something fresh like new costumes and more creative names.
SimpleeComplex - 7/29/2014, 3:01 AM
@pes it's amazing how Liefeld's art actually worse ed with time instead of improving.
Faris - 7/29/2014, 4:48 AM
Doom Patrol definitely needs some movie love :P it's like FF meets X-Men
