First Image Of 'Darkseid' In JUSTICE LEAGUE: WAR Released

Justice League: War is based on Geoff Johns and Jim Lee's first Justice League arc in DC's "The New 52" continuity. For that reason, it obviously makes sense that the team in the upcoming animated feature will be facing off against the villainous 'Darkseid' and his forces.

Steve Blum - who has voiced everyone from Wolverine to The Red Skull and Starscream in various animated features and TV shows - will voice the villainous Darkseid in Warner Bros.' upcoming Justice League: War. The movie is based on the events of Geoff Johns and Jim Lee's first Justice League arc in DC's "The New 52" continuity and follows on from the events of Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox. Here's a new image of the villain in the movie. What do you guys think?

still very very angry that there will be no Aquaman in this movie... I no that there are reasons to make changes to the story when turning it into a film but changing the team... taking away Aquaman and adding Shazam (who I am a fan of by the way) if ridiculous, uncalled for and change for the sake of change... this is why fans get so upset over changes.
RyGoR - 9/13/2013, 10:54 AM
To challenge the justice league is to court death

HavocPrime - 9/13/2013, 10:54 AM
Agreed SupermanP33v3, it is a change I can't get behind as this is a good way to show Aquaman as the bad ass he is.
JoeMomma29 - 9/13/2013, 10:56 AM
Me likey.
darkspark - 9/13/2013, 10:57 AM
The New 52 was change for the sake of change. At this point who still gives a crap?
Demonluv - 9/13/2013, 10:57 AM
The DC animated movies have been great so far.
RexDartEskimoSpy - 9/13/2013, 11:01 AM
I think they basically cut out Aquaman for the sake of time. You know how short and rushed feeling most of these DC animated "features"are.

I just can't get behind Steve Blue as Darkseid. He's awesome, but too human sounding. Plus, his voice is so familiar.
Odin - 9/13/2013, 11:02 AM
After New 52, Darkseid has looked like shit! He is way too colorful as someone who calls himself "the Darkseid".

Here's a real Darkseid for you:
LEVITIKUZ - 9/13/2013, 11:03 AM
To the people who bitch about no Aquaman and Shazam, how do you think I feel with Cyborg replacing J'onn all the time?
GoILL - 9/13/2013, 11:07 AM
Shit looks good. I really want to see the trailer for this.
AnimatedTdot - 9/13/2013, 11:08 AM
Michael Ironside will always be Darkseid
knocturnalzen10 - 9/13/2013, 11:12 AM

fyi darkseid came before thanos an they flipfloped power sets he was orginally suppose to be a thor villian
StabbyJoee - 9/13/2013, 11:16 AM
As much as I love Shazam, if your going too take Aquaman out for some one, make it J'onn..
Dmon - 9/13/2013, 11:18 AM
I think the reason they left out Aqua-Man is because they want to introduce him in his own movie and then bring him in.
LEVITIKUZ - 9/13/2013, 11:19 AM
I like the New 52 look. Don't mind some changes. Also like how Darkseid is huge. I mean he's big but New 52 has him jacked.

Most New 52 designs I like. Love J'onn New 52 design. I also felt Martian Manhunter's suit looked to similar to Superman's and his New 52 look looks different, unique. I like.
Dmon - 9/13/2013, 11:20 AM
Still see no reason to have Shazam at all when you have Superman and Wonder Woman.
Darktower - 9/13/2013, 11:28 AM
this is sure to make my CBM of the year !!
Mysterion - 9/13/2013, 11:29 AM
in the animated movies dept is where DC has Marvel beat.
DioFoRio - 9/13/2013, 11:30 AM
@Cooliovids..I am.
Dmon - 9/13/2013, 11:30 AM
Also another reason that Shazam should not be in this is the one thing I liked about the first few issues of the New 52 Justice League was the retelling of Cyborg origin with relation to the Apokolips invasion. I really feel that and the formation of the team because of the invasion should be the focus not trying to explain Shazam.
Applebloom - 9/13/2013, 11:34 AM
Shut the [frick] up, yaboi. You're the most obvious Marvelite I've ever seen.
RexDartEskimoSpy - 9/13/2013, 11:34 AM
At least Shazam and Aquaman are roughly the same in terms of coolness and popularity. Does anybody really love Cyborg? He' okays leading the Titans, but he's never had much of a personality in the comics. (And the booyah Cyborg from the cartoon wouldn't work with the Justice League.)

What truly bugs about DC pushing Cyborg isn't the affirmative action crap - that's understandable, and it's not even the screwing over of MM - I get that Jonn is a complex character that doesn't sell toys. It's that in this Ultimate DC universe Cyborg doesn't deserve to be on the League. He's been a super hero for like 5 minutes when he joins them. In the real DCU he's paid his dues and proven himself. That Cyborg is fine; this one is like their kid sidekick with deus ex machina powers. (Wesley Crusher, fellow Trekkers?)

Justin Kirk as Hal Jordan / Green Lantern
Shemar Moore as Victor Stone / Cyborg
Sean Astin as Shazam

RexDartEskimoSpy - 9/13/2013, 11:39 AM
Keith David as Darkseid! You're absolutely right, Martian. Any other DC role is beneath him. Keith David has the voice of the gods.
JoJo1982 - 9/13/2013, 11:39 AM

Did you just say Darkseid is a ripoff of Thanos???

Thanos came out first appeared in 1973

Darkseid first appeared in 1970

Get your facts straight
solidsnake512 - 9/13/2013, 11:39 AM
Steve Blum As Voice Of Darkseid? Awesome
ALegendaryPanda - 9/13/2013, 11:39 AM
I hope we get to see this awesome son of a bitch on the big screen one day.
Dmon - 9/13/2013, 11:41 AM
@RexDartEskimoSpy Cyborg works because he is a result/casualty of the invasion so the rest of the heroes take him under their wing at first but he eventually earns his spot on the team through necessity and deeds.
typicalfanboy - 9/13/2013, 11:43 AM
Noooooooo! Darkseid doesn't have lips!!! First man of steel now this?!! C'mon!
Just kidding. I'm sure someone will say something as crazy soon. Looks cool though. I like how it's very anime instead of cartoonish.
RexDartEskimoSpy - 9/13/2013, 11:43 AM
By the way, from what I heard in the preview Jason O'Mara should be right up there with Kevin Conroy and Bruce Greenwood as A+ Batman voices. I wish they'd kept Nathan Filling as Hal, though. He nails the cockiness.

typicalfanboy - 9/13/2013, 11:45 AM
Metron is more like the watcher uatu since he keeps watching people and rarely intervenes. He's a new god from the 4th world. If anyone's a collector wouldn't it be brainiac?
Dmon - 9/13/2013, 11:46 AM
Also his updated power set updated or other wise makes him a an awesome superhero for the modern cyber age:

Cybernetics: Cyborg possesses cybernetic enhancements that provide superhuman strength, endurance and durability. Cyborg can also interface with computers. Built into his body-armor are an infrared eye, computer generator, sound amplifier, and special programming adapters that allow him to interface with other body extensions.

Body Resistance: The nature of Cyborg's body provides him with natural body armor offering resistance versus physical damage and energy attacks.

Superhuman Strength: At optimal capacity, Vic can lift/press in excess of several tons. Cyborg's upper strength limits have fluctuated with upgrades to his systems over time.

Superhuman Speed: He possessed a degree of superspeed and could leap great distances.

Superhuman Endurance

Superhuman Durability: His bones are reinforced with molybdenum-steel.

Computer Interfacing

Flight: Powered by boot jets

Integrated Weapons

Sensor Systems

Teleportation: Cyborg can open a Boom Tube extra-dimensional point-to-point travel portal to teleport him and his companions. However, when transporting groups his transporter can get overloaded, roughly one out of every 1,000 times, and ends up transporting all those teleported to Apokolips.

As part of the events of the Throne of Atlantis Aquaman crossover, Cyborg's lungs were replaced by cybernetic lungs that allow him to breathe underwater.

I like MM but a Man from Mars seems a bit dated with what we know of the Planet now.
typicalfanboy - 9/13/2013, 11:47 AM
I was joking. It was satire on the obviously insane fanboy reaction. I think darkseid looks fine in that pic. Not foyne but fine.
RexDartEskimoSpy - 9/13/2013, 11:48 AM
Hi, I'm Victor Stone. I have the power to do whatever the story dictates that the real super heroes can't do. Also, I'm a minority character, of which DC has few. Also also, I make for great action figures. Please love me.
