Fans aren't messing around when it comes to trying to force Warner Bros.' hand to release the Snyder Cut of Justice League, and San Diego has been invaded by billboards and posters ahead of Comic-Con...

If you're planning on going to Comic-Con in San Diego this weekend, then you'll more than likely spot a number of billboards promoting the Justice League "#ReleaseTheSnyderCut" movement.

Launched by fans disappointed about what happened when Joss Whedon reshot most of the movie in time for its November 2017 release, it's hoped that this will force Warner Bros. to release the original version of the DC Comics adaptation...which may or may not even exist.

At this point, though, you'd think they would at least share the screenplay or something similar!

There have been some bad examples of fans trying to get this movement off the ground by harassing studio executives or generally just trolling Marvel fans on social media, but, for the most part, it's done a lot of good. A fair bit of money has been raised for suicide awareness and prevention, as part of the reason Snyder stepped down was because of his teenage daughter's suicide.

Check out some photos of the billboards below:

"Snyder Cut" reveals from filmmaker Kevin Smith!

According to Smith, crew members saw Jim Lee storyboards for all three movies. While the first instalment we ended up seeing (with Joss Whedon's reshoots) mostly played out how Snyder planned, the biggest change was that the ending would have featured an appearance from Darkseid as he stared down the team through the Boom Tube Steppenwolf escaped in.

In the sequel, however, things would have taken a cosmic turn for the iconic heroes...

Apparently, the League would have taken the fight to Apokolips in a movie which may have also featured New Genesis. It was in this movie that the Green Lantern Corps would have got involved and Smith claims that the scene with Alfred in the Justice League trailer where he says "Let's hope you're not too late..." was originally going to be with Green Lantern, not Superman.

Crew members even had green lights which they shined on Jeremy Irons but plans clearly changed and the Corps remained relegated to those flashback scenes.

Justice League 2 would have featured a dark ending along the lines of The Empire Strikes Back or Avengers: Infinity War as the team would have been defeated in space before Darkseid arrived on Earth and, in Smith's words, "levels it."

Needless to say, that would have made things difficult for the solo movies Warner Bros. had planned but it would have nicely led to that "Knightmare" vision Batman had becoming a reality and the Flash having to travel back in time.

As you might expect, Justice League 3 would have pitted the heroes against Darkseid for one final stand against the villain as they attempted to set things right. The director stops there but this adventure presumably would have featured time-travel and possibly even the evil Superman we saw kill Batman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. It's hard to say.

Either way, Smith says, "I really feel like hearing what we heard, we might have missed something." It's hard to disagree with that and, if we're lucky, Snyder might one day comment on these plans himself. What do you guys think? Share your thoughts below.

That's some dedication. Why don't they release it on Netflix or their own, upcoming streaming service?

@Unites - Zack and his followers need to move on, seriously it took decades for Richard Donner's Superman 2 to come out, but he didn't bring it up he just made more movies and eventually they went to him to complete it

@dragon316 thanks for the insight, grandpa. Most streaming services offer an offline download option. That way you can load up your device with content before the bad weather hits or you take that big camping trip.

@Unites - They can't release something that does not exist beyond unused concept drawings and after thought ideas.
