i still don't know what to thing about this movie.
Not enough Carrey for sure.
Final fight was kinda weak too.
Still, it's one of the most original sequel i have recently seen.

I'm thorn apart.

Super > Kick Ass

In keeping with the first, tone & pace. Loved it & curious about a 3rd?

@HellsHammer, Super is extremely underrated, and one big reason I'm looking forward to Guardians of the Galaxy. I do think both Kickass and Super are great.

Kickass 2 was awesome.

Somehow managed to completely loose the magic of the original.

Underwhelming compared to the first movie

This movie was ok. It didn't suck, it didn't rule. It certainly did not have the wit and charm of the original. I don't know how much of that was the story or Matthew Vaughn, but I'm gonna go with Matthew Vaughn.

It does feel like a logical next step in the story, but Nic Cage is sorely missed. Jim Carrey makes up for that a bit, but he needed more screen time.

I doubt we will see a 3rd took a while for the movie to break even and at the end of the day it made 40 million dollars less than the first one. Also if by some miracle a 3rd is greenlit, I just dont see the original cast (Aaron Johnson & Chloe Moretz) returning at all.

Kick-Ass 2 cost the same as the first film, but only made half the box office. It's over.

The only reason a sequel was even made was because the first film did well on video. It didn't even do that great at the box office and probably actually lost money once all the receipts were tallied.

It's a huge bummer that the film didn't capture the same magic of the first one. I think the following would have fixed it a little;

- less day time shots (2/3 of the movie is in the daytime)
- more Jim Carey
- not recasting Todd
- completely different 3rd act. The final fight was weak and should have taken place in the middle of the city- Warriors style.

Kick-ass > Super by far. I loved Super too, but Kick-ass was almost a perfect movie to me. Perfect mix of story, message, mood, music, action, adventure, shock, laughs, etc. Kick-ass created a world that I just love getting a peek into. Can't wait for the next flick. I will be upset when it's done though. I think I have watched the original kick-ass over 100 times.
