PACIFIC RIM 'Gipsy Danger' And 'Crimson Typhoon' Action Figures Revealed

The first two action figures from the Jaeger toyline (which will be featured at Toy Fair 2013) for Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim have been unveiled, featuring 'Gipsy Danger' and 'Crimson Typhoon'.

When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes—a washed up former pilot and an untested trainee —who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

Pacific Rim stars Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day and Ron Perlman. The film is set to hit theaters July 12th.

What's the manufacturing company, though? Is it Mattel? The paint job looks pretty great, although they look more like statues - the articulation points aren't so visible. Still, I'll save some money for them...

Pretty cool.

Cant wait for more.

Hope they make Action Man sized figures too. My nephews would love to destroy LEGO buildings with them.

silverdog - 2/9/2013, 9:19 AM

That's the general appearance the Transformers should have taken. A much more simple, solid, appealing-to-the-eye appearance. As such, I'd rather they made a movie about Shogun Warriors.
