Summary:
When an experimental space voyage goes awry, four people are changed by cosmic rays into the superheroes known as The Fantastic Four. Reed Richards, brilliant scientist and team leader, is transformed into Mr. Fantastic --his body now impossibly elastic and resilient. Reeds shy girlfriend, Sue Storm, can now completely disappear and produce force fields as The Invisible Woman. Sue's little brother is Johnny Storm, and known to be a real "hot head". Now he has powers that match his fiery personality and also give him the ability to fly--lighting up the night sky as the Human Torch. Pilot Benjamin Grimm was never much to look at, but now he dates blind women because the accident turned him into a monstrous Thing --completely covered by a rocky orange hide which makes him invunerable to harm and super-strong. Together, they become the Fantastic Four, using their incredible powers against any threat to the peace of Earth. Their first test, to thwart the evil plans of egomaniacal Doctor Doom, an armored villain who wants to rule the planet as Tyrant King. Apart from saving the world, the heroes must quickly learn to how deal with the pressures of fame as the world's most famous super-family--finding it sometimes easier to save the world than to get along with each other in their new circumstances.
