CBM'S New Year Resolutions

CBM'S New Year Resolutions

Hit the jump to share your new year's resolution for 2014. It can be movie-related, Site-related, etc. Try to keep it appropriate for the site. Any inappropriate comments will be deleted and/or reported! Check it out!

I would have waited for tomorrow to post this, but I feel as though if I put it today everyone would get a chance to post their resolution.

My New Year's Resolution: To see every movie on the CBM calendar.

See you can keep it pretty simple like that example above, or feel free to write a whole paragraph for your resolution. It doesn't matter how you do just as long as it is appropriate for the site.

Sound off with resolutions below!

Happy New Year!

ComicBookMovie.com appeared online in 2003, just before the comic book movie boom hit big. Jim and Nate, both having a love of comic books and movies since childhood, left their jobs to develop CBM into what it is today--the #1 site in the genre with 8 million monthly visitors, and in the top 2000 of all websites on the entire web. The community that has developed on CBM is one of the most fun and entertaining aspects of our site.

In 2008, the site was converted to a "user-generated" model. The content is 100% produced BY the fans and users of the site. Articles submitted are voted to the homepage by users, or may be moved there by a volunteer editor. Regular contributors of quality articles are given privileges on the site ("trusted user" status) which allows them to bypass the editors and go directly to the main. Those who will agree to help edit the contributions of others for homepage placement, are given "power user" status. Any user interested in helping the site need only show they are willing and able to do so and they will be advanced. Competition for breaking news is high here, but that is also a part of what makes ComicBookMovie.com

Doopie - 12/30/2013, 10:02 AM

anthonyEstark - 12/30/2013, 10:47 AM
@Doopie Good one. Mine is, "I am going to do all I can to live up to the name Best Trusted User, until the longed for day when I hopefully become a Power User."
bigdannymac - 12/30/2013, 10:54 AM
I will try my best to contain my excitement when the new Bat Suit is unveiled
hawkeye2012 - 12/30/2013, 10:56 AM
My New Years Resolution is to read more comics
marantaz - 12/30/2013, 11:01 AM
I've resolved to stop visiting Indian casinos.

And with the money I save, I will see good CBMs in the theatres more than once.

Minghagz - 12/30/2013, 11:13 AM
My New Year's Resolution: Picking up SuperCat's slack by visiting CBM.com less at work and surfing porn more at work.
SuperCat - 12/30/2013, 11:14 AM
LOL!! @ Minghagz

I deleted that! Didn't want to get reported :)
Hellsboy - 12/30/2013, 11:21 AM
To not waste my money on shit movies I'm looking at you wwz
Nomadic1 - 12/30/2013, 11:30 AM
To party with Nomis, you are a madman. When you stole that cow, and your friend tried to make it with the cow. I want to party with you, cowboy. But the two of us together? Forget it!
Batmanknight - 12/30/2013, 11:41 AM
End my hiatus as a fanfic contributor of this site and release my Justice League story before the summer.
FOOM - 12/30/2013, 11:43 AM
Continue to lobby for a Legion of Super Pets CBM. DC deserves it.
NovaCorpsFan - 12/30/2013, 12:03 PM
My new year's resolution is to focus more on writing scripts than revising for exams.

[frick] a stable future, I want to suffer and earn my place as a comic book writer!
SuperCat - 12/30/2013, 12:12 PM
@ Monk

Amen, brother!
QuestiontheAnswer - 12/30/2013, 12:23 PM
Try and watch the entire TASM 2.
JorL5150 - 12/30/2013, 12:33 PM

My resolution is to be a better diciple of GUSTO.

I'm trademarking some "WWGD?" (What would gusto do?) Bracelets.

But resolutions are meaningless unless you take action to apply them in your life.
So, I've left my wife of 18 years and moved in with a stripper named "candy" (she's a dandy) and spent the mortgage money on johnny walker black.
DEVLIN712 - 12/30/2013, 12:35 PM
Why not get someone to do all the work and then put your name ahead of them on the cover, it's worked pretty well for some others...
Doopie - 12/30/2013, 12:35 PM

I'm sure you'll get there mate, congrats on the award!

Keep going man! I've been goin back thru you're scripts and they get better and better. Check out DEVLIN's latest post, I think u could help!
DEVLIN712 - 12/30/2013, 12:36 PM
Isn't Ciph's illegitimate child a stripper called Candy...
JasonBlue - 12/30/2013, 12:49 PM
Scorpion8125 - 12/30/2013, 12:55 PM
I resolve to get bigger pants for movie going for 2 very good reasons.

1) To sneak even more goodies in because I HATE paying a zillion bux for movie snacks and drinks.

2) I always need extra pants room whenever I go see a movie with Jamie Alexander or Jennifer Lawrence in it.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! C'mon 2014!!!!

Nomis - 12/30/2013, 12:56 PM
@ FOOM - LOL!!!!!

I'll pay to see that! ;)
Nomis - 12/30/2013, 1:00 PM
My New Year's Resolution:

To actually give X-Men:DOFP a chance to be good!
Scorpion8125 - 12/30/2013, 1:02 PM
Special resolution category: ASM 2

I resolve to publicly admit it if ASM 2 is actually good.(unlike the sh!tty ASM)

I resolve to brutalize it even harder if it sucks as bad as ASM.

I resolve to try not being constantly creeped out by seeing a 30 year old looking Spidey trolling the beautiful Emma Stone who was the perfect casting for high school aged Gwen Stacey.

Minghagz - 12/30/2013, 1:18 PM
Lol @SuperCat, well if I get reported for that then I'm reporting your next comment!
Minghagz - 12/30/2013, 1:41 PM
Karmatron - 12/30/2013, 1:54 PM
Ok i love this site there is no site like this in any other place. What I do not like is the hipocrisy of the 95% of the marvel fans. There are about 6 or 7 known trolls that go troling users and articles that talk good things about DC comics. But they are given a pass by editors and users alike all just because they love marvel. And then there are dc-passionate users like 1to10 or the wonderer and then all marvel trolls gang up on them... I really cannot stand those hypocrits marvel fanboys
Nomadic1 - 12/30/2013, 2:59 PM
@b&y there was internal strife between him and the GM. It wasn't about the team on the field, it was about him off it.
staypuffed - 12/30/2013, 3:06 PM
New Year Resolutions are so dumb. Sorry.
Nomadic1 - 12/30/2013, 3:09 PM
@b&y I hear ya, I thought he was the man for the job. He was off cord when Derek Anderson made the probowl 5 or so years ago. You remember him? Anyway, I had high hopes he would be the answer. Ha, yea, as much as I thought Schwartz would fix my Lions, I was wrong on that one. I thought both of those coaches were great fits. Jeez, I would make a shitty GM. Time to fire Tomlin so the Lions can grab him. :)
Nomadic1 - 12/30/2013, 3:20 PM
I hear Lovie is going to Tampa
Firgosaurus - 12/30/2013, 3:23 PM
My resolution would be to not watch any of the movies.

Then pray that the Pittsburgh Steelers don't make the playoffs.. Oh wait...
Firgosaurus - 12/30/2013, 3:41 PM
6 teams are vacant. I would take the Cleveland job if I was a coach. Roster is stacked just need a good coach.

Yeah Detroit might sound more stacked but it's all high round picks with ego issues. Fvck that shit. I would rather have Gordon and Hoyer playing for me with some solid Defense.
Greengo - 12/30/2013, 4:04 PM
I love this place and all the douche bags in it.

We're like a massive, dysfunctional family.

The model that has evolved for this site - while not perfect in it's application, or equitable in it execution - is preferable to the model used by all the Trojan, corporate run sites... Who prejudicially disseminate what execs deem to be, or not to be, newsworthy (aka: in their best interests)

Ef the man!
Firgosaurus - 12/30/2013, 4:07 PM
Well Dennis is on his first year. And Rex doesn't exactly have world breakers to this arsenal. I really want Rex to coach something with more talent.
Bryanferryfan - 12/30/2013, 5:36 PM
I resolve to stop calling you BASTARDS ... BYTCHES AND You BYTCHES... BASTARDS!
Firgosaurus - 12/30/2013, 6:18 PM
The Skins is literally one good coach away from being on the same level as the Eagles.
PlaystationGovernor99 - 12/30/2013, 6:26 PM
My Resolution is to take back the prison from Rick......oh wait
PunPun - 12/30/2013, 9:45 PM
I love looking at all you virgin idiots posting personal resolutions on a public site to complete strangers.
unknownfacts - 12/30/2013, 11:36 PM
New Year's revolutions something people do for a least the first week of January then forget about them.
