COMICS: Chuck Palahniuk Working On FIGHT CLUB 2 For Dark Horse

The author is planning to release a comic book sequel to his 1996 novel (and David Fincher's excellent 1999 movie adaptation) next year. Fight Club 2 will be a 10-issue Dark Horse Comics maxiseries illustrated by Cameron Stewart. More details and some promo art after the jump.

Could we see this adapted for the big screen too? Could Fincher, Pitt and Norton return? Anything's possible, but we're getting ahead of ourselves -- for now we have the new comic series to look forward to in May, 2015.

"Fight Club 2 takes place alternately in the future and the past. It picks up a decade after the ending of his original book, where the protagonist is married to equally problematic Marla Singer and has a 9 year-old son named Junior, though the narrator is failing his son in the same way his dad failed him."

Palahniuk also promises the return of Tyler Durden (Bradd Pitt's "character" in the movei version) and the organization known as Project Mayhem. More at the link below.

I....don't know how to feel about this.
Eustace - 7/22/2014, 4:42 AM
I loved the book and the movie so much, but I am cautiously optimistic about this sequel.
RorMachine - 7/22/2014, 4:48 AM
Well at least it's the same writer..he obviously fees like there's another story there so I'll be checking it out.
FastFlames - 7/22/2014, 5:04 AM
Oh boy please don't crash and burn
dutchman - 7/22/2014, 5:07 AM
Yes do it
grif - 7/22/2014, 5:43 AM
if fight club was a comic then this would be welcome. but fight club was a movie so this can burn in hell.
Doopie - 7/22/2014, 5:50 AM
Sounds promising

I don't really know why there needs to be a sequel, I thought the ending to the book was fine. But, if people will buy it and Chuck will make money, more power to him.
sikwon - 7/22/2014, 6:05 AM
Choke (book not movie) was just as amazing.
pestulio07 - 7/22/2014, 6:32 AM
I like the idea, but I feel like it is unnecessary. Why spoil a good thing, right?
Cles - 7/22/2014, 6:38 AM
I loved the ending to the book. It felt complete in a very "fight Club" kind of way. I am a fan of nearly all of Palahniuk's work, but this needs to be left alone.
DukeAcureds - 7/22/2014, 6:43 AM
Tyler would not approve.
campblood - 7/22/2014, 7:03 AM
as a reader of his books I say this...

haunted was the better novel and is more deserving of a sequel as it offered no closure and didn't wrap up the story
Gusto - 7/22/2014, 7:06 AM
[frick]in' Aye!
I'm so there!!!!!
sameoldthing - 7/22/2014, 7:06 AM
Why the hell not? The actual author of original material is writing it.
Even if it turns out not as fvcking what? The first book / movie stands on its own.
I never understand fools who think sequels or reboots affect the original stuff, guess what?...IT DOES NOT.
Gusto - 7/22/2014, 7:09 AM
For those interested...
here's a lighthearted,
fun little romp by
Chuck Palahniuk.
campblood - 7/22/2014, 7:21 AM
Gusto you should read the whole books. there is way more f$&ked up stuff in haunted
GiantNerd - 7/22/2014, 8:26 AM

Agreed, the book Choke changed my life when I read it in high school. Amazing book.
CombatWombat - 7/22/2014, 8:26 AM
Palahniuk is either completely demented, or a genius
Niklander - 7/22/2014, 8:28 AM
@campblood Agreed Haunted is awesome
GiantNerd - 7/22/2014, 8:29 AM
They cannot bring Tyler back though. That would seriously be sacrilege.
Niklander - 7/22/2014, 8:30 AM
And where the hell is the movie adaptation of Survivor that book was good
GiantNerd - 7/22/2014, 8:30 AM

Can't he be both? :)
cipher - 7/22/2014, 8:35 AM
My first thought was "err, wut?", but yeah.. like Ror said, it's the same dude, so there must be something he has left to say.

Great f*ckin' book.

Maybe I should switch back to the Tyler Durden avi I had two years back.
huckfinnisher - 7/22/2014, 8:36 AM
I know its unpopular opinion but this film is horrid. He needs to get rid of his alternate personality so he shoots himself in the cheek? Talk about lazy writing.
cipher - 7/22/2014, 8:38 AM
Wow. I've been here two years already. I realised what I just said.

F*ck me sideways. That was fast.

Lame. Movie was was meh at best, horrendous at worst. No need for a sequel because the entire story was told. Don't care about seeing this when it comes out.
