Elodie Yung Joins Alex Proyas GODS OF EGYPT

The G.I. JOE: Retaliation actress will join Gerard Butler, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Brenton Thwaites, Chadwick Boseman, Courtney Eaton and Geoffrey Rush in Summit's fantasy adventure as the goddess of luuurve, 'Hathor'. Click on for more..

Deadline report that French actress and former Wonder Woman candidate Elodie Yung has joined the cast of Alex Proyas' Gods Of Egypt as one of the Gods (or Goddesses in this case). Hathor - in ancient Egyptian mythology she's the goddess who personified the principles of joy, feminine love, and motherhood. As well as starring as Jinx in the G.I. JOE sequel, Yung popped up as a gang lord in District 13: Ultimatum and also made a brief, but very memorable appearance in David Fincher’s The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. The story deals with a human thief (Thwaites) who cares little for the affairs of gods but when he discovers Zaya (Eaton) has been cursed by Set (Butler), he falls on the side of Horus (Coster-Waldau), hoping that Set’s death will break the curse. Proyas wrote the script with Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama, who are behind Universal’s upcoming horror saga Dracula Untold.

Boy, I really hope she's a terrible actress, because there's no other excuse to pass her up for Gal.

Gal make her look like Laila Ali.
CherryBomb - 2/20/2014, 4:36 AM

Well, Elodie is only 5'6' which is a little short.
Also, she isn't that much bigger in regards to muscle as Gal.

MsDarkPhoenix - 2/20/2014, 4:39 AM
Fun fact

The first blowjob belongs to the Egyptian mythology: Hacked to pieces by an enemy, the Egyptian god Osiris is reassembled by his faithful wife, who "blows life" back into him through a reconstructed penis. Osiris' father, the earth god Geb, also made appearances sucking his own penis (a feat that only two or three mortals in a thousand can achieve, according to Alfred Kinsey).

I'm sorry, but I really had to share that information. I'm not a perv, I just love mythology and some weird things happen sometimes in myths :P
CherryBomb - 2/20/2014, 4:40 AM

Wow! very interesting! :D thanks!
goos2 - 2/20/2014, 4:56 AM
She's a hottie.
Niklander - 2/20/2014, 5:09 AM
Looking forward for this one an Alex Proyas film never dissapoints.@TheDarkPhoenix thanks for the sexual history lesson
CaptainDC52 - 2/20/2014, 5:15 AM
Elodie Yung is only 5'5" a bit short for Wonder Woman. Gal Gadot is 5'9" and sexier. I'd be cool with Yung playing Talia al Ghul someday.
ComicsBornAndBred - 2/20/2014, 5:22 AM
@Andree24 Elodie would be great for Talia Al Ghul or Psylocke with the X men. She's an exotic and gorgeous woman. But, I don't like how this movie this white actors portraying Egyptian gods and Egyptian individuals overall. Hollywood white wash at its best. At east give me one or two Egyptian or middle eastern actors/actresses.
KINGPEN266 - 2/20/2014, 5:35 AM
the dark p. WHAT DAFUQ??! LOL
MiltonSaint - 2/20/2014, 5:38 AM

Pasto - 2/20/2014, 5:40 AM
I'm still baffled that the male G-Spot is in the ass. So whats that mean.....strap-on's for all dudes?

I guess I'm one of those 2-3 mortals.
MsDarkPhoenix - 2/20/2014, 5:43 AM
@niklander You have no idea how many blowjobs took place in ancient Greece! And not just in myths...
The official Greek culture of gaydom and naked exercise made oral sex a matter of course, although not all men lifted their togas for teen boys. Educated courtesans known as hetaerae performed a good many BJs on influential Athenian men; these women enjoyed an influence that the wives could barely fathom.
Summing up the sexual politics of that time, Demosthenes wrote, "We have hetaerae for our pleasure, concubines for our daily needs and wives to give us legitimate children and look after the housekeeping."

I have some interesting information about Cleopatra too: Legend has it that Egyptian queen Cleopatra blew more than 100 Roman noblemen during a marathon orgy. The Greeks knew her as Meriochane ("she who gapes wide for 10,000 men")

LOL! DannyBoys going to have an aneurism from reading your comments.
johnblake - 2/20/2014, 5:46 AM
Disgusting we got a movie in ancient Africa again with no black people. -_-

Nik's going to try to get some BJ's in the name of 'History'. Good going Dark.
MsDarkPhoenix - 2/20/2014, 5:51 AM
@Pasto Please, don't try to suck your own penis, you are going to brake your back!!
Pasto - 2/20/2014, 5:51 AM
^THIS right here, made my day.
MsDarkPhoenix - 2/20/2014, 5:53 AM
The Romans considered BJ so base it was often inflicted as punishment. If a farmer caught a traveler stealing potatoes from his field, he might compel the thief to blow him.
johnblake - 2/20/2014, 6:02 AM
@ Milton saint- I swear. Look at that hypocrisy. It's because people still have the idea that all people of african decent act like "black" people. But let them have made zeus black.
MsDarkPhoenix - 2/20/2014, 6:02 AM
@nik Yep, our ancestors were pretty cool, weren't they?? :P

How long until DannyBoy starts reporting my comments? I don't think I have more information about ancient BJs but I know a Norse myth were Thor dresses up as a bride and goes to marry a Frost Giant.

The giant Thrym steals Thor's hammer Mjölnir and demands Freyja as payment for it, desiring the goddess as his own wife. Instead of Freyja, Thor dresses up as the bride and Loki as the bridesmaid, and the two travel to Jötunheim for the "wedding." Thor's identity is comically hinted at throughout the reception (the god eats an entire ox on his own), with Loki providing weak explanations that the giants somehow accept for the odd behavior (he claims that the bride's immense hunger stems from her not having eaten for the last seven days for her excitement). Mjölnir is eventually placed into Thor's hands as part of the wedding ceremony, allowing the god to strike down the giants and return home.

1. I came to this thread looking for infos about a movie I'm only mildly interested in and left with improved knowledge about the history of the blowjob - fascinating!

2. I would pay good money to see this Thor story realized as a comedic One-Shot with Hemsworth and Hiddleston. :D
Niklander - 2/20/2014, 6:44 AM
Pasto people love BJ's
StarGateCommand - 2/20/2014, 6:50 AM
Get out the white paint. And tons of it. Elodie Yung - half white/half Asian. That's not good enough. Seriously, no Egyptian/Middle Eastern actors (people who look like Egyptians do today) cast in major roles in a movie called the Gods of Egypt? Of course, all the actors except Boseman will be required to get a deep, dark tan no doubt so they can "pass" for Egyptian.

This movie has all the makings of a John Carter or Lone Ranger, that is, a major box office dud.

Hey Hollywood, why don't you make a movie called the Gods of Scandinavia and cast only Asians in all the major roles. I'd like to see an Asian Thor, Loki, Sif and Odin. And then let's see what audiences in North America, Europe and elsewhere think about it?

And people of Egypt, I know money is hard to come by, but you people need to make your own movie about your own Gods and promote it on the world stage.

Oh, I actually liked Alex Proyas' Dark City. Shame on him and Summit Entertainment for making this movie. Guess people have money to burn.
TopCat89 - 2/20/2014, 6:52 AM

You've made my day, i can't stop laughing....was not expecting such detailed information about BJs, on a casting announcement article....cheers for the entertainment and knowledge!
Minghagz - 2/20/2014, 7:03 AM
I feel sexually violated and aroused all at the same time from these comments
Minghagz - 2/20/2014, 7:06 AM
I'm actually pretty interested in hearing more about this movie because I really enjoy mythology
MsDarkPhoenix - 2/20/2014, 7:14 AM
I really ruined this article... I'm an awful, dirty-minded person

@Kyos Petition for this to be their next One-Shot!!

@TopCat 'Knowledge' :P lol
MexicanSexyman - 2/20/2014, 7:16 AM
@StarGateAcademyDirector, calm the frick down.
MexicanSexyman - 2/20/2014, 7:18 AM
@TheDarkPhoenix, haha. Do you have any knowledge about history of p@$$/ eating?
Spidey10 - 2/20/2014, 7:24 AM
Well this is an interesting conversation

History of threesomes: Neolithic rock art has been found which seems to depict perhaps the first recorded threesome: that of a woman sucking one man while she is being penetrated by another.

According to the Chinese, giving head was a path to enlightenment so long as the "yang essence" (yep, that's semen) was not lost.

Bible (!): The only mention of oral sex in the Bible appears in the Song of Solomon, where an appreciative woman recounted, "I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste."
MsDarkPhoenix - 2/20/2014, 8:02 AM
I have to study now because I won't be able to make money in my life by saying stories about the history of BJs. In about two hours I'll be back with some myths where Zeus just couldn't keep it in his pants :P
sameoldthing - 2/20/2014, 8:07 AM
It's a fictitious movie people..Egyptian Gods are not real so them being white or black or purple DOES NOT MATTER.
Blowjobs matter.
Pasto - 2/20/2014, 8:37 AM
Dark and Cherry should get the 'Horniest Users' award for the 2014 CBM awards.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha, sweet f*cking Christ..

I LOVE THIS PLACE!! Phoeny, that's got to be the funniest thing I've read all week. Hehehehehe, holy shit.. that is priceless.

I'm never at a loss for words.. but, I had no clue what to say at first. I just burst into uncontrollable laughter, and damn near choked on my cigarette.
cipher - 2/20/2014, 8:46 AM
I have GOT to tell my girlfriend about the history of blowjobs when she gets home.

I'm not sure if it'll turn her on, or just leave her speechless.
BlackIceJoe - 2/20/2014, 9:43 AM
I know it sound weird to people that make these movies but why can't they hirer people that are black? Ancient Egypt had a black population not white people. I guess its crazy times we live in that Hollywood likes to switch things up. I guess next they will be changing the Human Torch black. Wait that's already happening. There is nothing wrong with finding the best for the job but I personally wish Hollywood would stay closer to the source material. That being said congratulations on getting the job.
DarkSuperman - 2/20/2014, 9:46 AM

Maybe my logic is flawed, but it stands to reason that gods of a specific region would resemble the people of said region. Japanese Gods Look asian. Norse gods looks Scandinavian. And Egyptian gods should like wise be EGYPTIAN or at the very least brown.

You probably don't know any Egyptian people, but I do, and they don't look anything like Jamie Lannister or freaking Braveheart.

I'm assuming you're Caucasian so you don't find it very important whether or not other ethnicities are accurately represented seeing how 90% of hollywood is white. I guess in the 60's you wouldn't have cared about civil rights because at least you didn't have to give up your seat on the bus, right? -_-
