Kevin Feige Reveals That Marvel Studios Have Planned Out Their Movies As Far As 2028

We all know that Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios are planning for the future when it comes to both their existing and upcoming comic book movie franchises, but it's fair to say that none of could have quite possibly imagined just how far ahead they're looking.

Or perhaps Iger has a built-in GPS for acquiring studios that can tell stories. Much of Marvel’s success can be attributed to Feige. He has a special understanding of comics, fans, superheroes, and narrative. He concedes that Marvel won’t recover the film rights to Spider-Man or the X-Men anytime soon but says Marvel has something more valuable: a universe of thousands of characters it controls entirely.

Feige can produce an unlimited number of films with interweaving story lines and characters, creating a vast audience for almost any Marvel movie. People might show up for The Avengers, meet the Black Widow, and come back for her movie, too. There’s a map of films reaching far into the next decade on the wall of Feige’s office. “It’s like looking through the Hubble telescope. You go, ‘What’s happening back there? I can sort of see it,’ ” he laughs. “They printed out a new one recently that went to 2028.”

Of course, while many of those plans are likely to be provisional at this stage, it shows that Feige's long-term vision for the Marvel Cinematic Universe is something we should all be very excited about. He recently hinted that he believes that approaching these characters as the James Bond movies have in terms of simply recasting the lead part and continuing the story would be a better option that constant ill-received reboots. As this world of heroes continues to expand both on the big screen and commercially, it's likely that the next decade or more is going to be something truly special for us fans. Now, where's my Captain Britain movie Kevin?

Damn. The thing is, will they all be quality films? Cause you can plan out 100 films, then have 95 of them be duds. Ease up pal.
Pasto - 4/3/2014, 7:06 AM
Cause it would suck to have all these plans and preparations in place, then 95% of the films tank.
Pasto - 4/3/2014, 7:07 AM
Since I'm first and I KNOW this'll be a hot thread, I'll just leave this here:
Pasto - 4/3/2014, 7:15 AM
I like Yoss's plan so much better than Marvel's.
JoJo1982 - 4/3/2014, 7:16 AM

They ain't going nowhere!!!
GinjaNinja - 4/3/2014, 7:16 AM
What does this mean? Every character you've ever wanted to see on film will be put on film EVENTUALLY. They won't ever reboot the series, and there is room to play (just like the comics) As long as they make money they'll make the movies. NOW HERE'S THE ONLY ISSUE. They have to keep making them good, or else it will just completely tank. Also people will have to get over the "Were's this hero for this story" and "Why isn't this guy helping this guy?" Not every hero has to be explained as to why they aren't helping people in their solo adventures. The comics never do, and neither should the movies.

Lmao, imagine if all these future films were the equivalent to Iron Man 2?

arsonjack - 4/3/2014, 7:20 AM
Why only until 2028, how bout 3028
charlie2094 - 4/3/2014, 7:21 AM
Damn! That's way into the future! Obviously will shift around, but knowing they have some sort of plan for that far into the future is crazy!

So long as we get more 'Winter Soldiers' and less 'Thor: The Dark World' then keep them coming! Super excited about where Marvel is going. Lost me a bit with IM3/Thor2 but Winter Soldier was too good.

Really hope Fiege doesn't leave any time soon, done an incredibly job
MrReese - 4/3/2014, 7:22 AM
Got damn 2028 this guy thinking 14 yrs ahead n shit.Haha I'm gonna love owning all the phases.
Omarvls - 4/3/2014, 7:22 AM
Well Marvel is on a roll RIGHT NOW just having released the Best Comicbookmovie of all time in The Winter Soldier

And with Guardians of the Galaxy being their biggest RISK but also a big payout with COSMIC Marvel (Adam Warlock-Nova-Ms. Marvel-Kree)

Marvel can do no wrong RIGHT NOW

BUT..... there will be flops on the way and see how they do after
Omarvls - 4/3/2014, 7:24 AM
Marvel has made mediocre films in Phase 1 and 2 (Iron Man 2/ Iron Man 3) in my opinion but not have been flops in fact they've been blockbusters so who knows what they would do after a flop
Pasto - 4/3/2014, 7:24 AM
Devils Advocate:
If a majority of the films between now and 2028 are as good as Iron Man 2, then I will have a crow barbecue ready for most of the users on this site.
MrReese - 4/3/2014, 7:24 AM
If we get an Avengers film every 3 yrs we'll be in phase 6 by the time 2028 comes along.
MexicanSexyman - 4/3/2014, 7:26 AM
I bet none of those films are Incredible Hulk 2 and 3.
campblood - 4/3/2014, 7:26 AM
half of us will be dead by then....looking at you gusto
GinjaNinja - 4/3/2014, 7:26 AM
Disney is literally making all the money now. They have Star Wars which will make a billion, Marvel, which makes billions, now they need to buy DC and give them their own studio.
CorndogBurglar - 4/3/2014, 7:26 AM
I don't ever want to hear anyone complain about Marvel "rushing things" again...
Nubase - 4/3/2014, 7:26 AM
feige is talking crazy talk, to come and say that is just plain stupid, this is info he should keep to himself abut then again he is marvels promoter, he is marvel version of danw white of the ufc, all they do is just talk and say good things cos that's what he is paid to do but 2028 is just silly
GinjaNinja - 4/3/2014, 7:27 AM
granted disney doesn't get 100% of the profits from marvel bu still they make some cash
Pasto - 4/3/2014, 7:27 AM
If Disney bought DC that'd be glorious. Chances it would happen are pot, though.
sKeemAn - 4/3/2014, 7:27 AM
As long as they keep making quality films, it can go another 50 years. The thing about is that Feige realizes they have to be quality. Once someone else takes over will they have the same vision? MS could easily turn into Fox if the right people arent leading it in the right direction.
MexicanSexyman - 4/3/2014, 7:28 AM
@Omarvls, I think Marvel Studios can afford only two flops but three will hurt them.
Gusto - 4/3/2014, 7:28 AM
I have my drinking planned out 'til Sunday.
TheRealRemyLebeau - 4/3/2014, 7:29 AM
Take huge dictionary size notes studios because Marvel are not playing around. Hulk sequel here we come. ;)

Marvel: Where casting is impeccable and trendsetting happens.
MercwithMouth - 4/3/2014, 7:29 AM

They could make every movie the same quality as IM2, and they'd still crush the DCCU! Lol.

I kid, I kid.

I, for one, have at the very least, been entertained by every MCU movie, and I don't expect that to change. Sometimes a good popcorn flick is all that's required. Honestly, do you think we could get a serious, intellectual, story-driven She-Hulk movie? With some of the Marvel properties, you just gotta have fun, because there may not be any substance to bring to the screen.
McNyagano - 4/3/2014, 7:30 AM
I'll be 34 lol
Pasto - 4/3/2014, 7:30 AM
What trendsetting is Marvel making? Superheroes?
TheRealRemyLebeau - 4/3/2014, 7:31 AM
This article almost basically confirmed a Black Widow solo. Throw in hawkeye and the winter soldier and let's take that ride.
Pasto - 4/3/2014, 7:31 AM
I'll be 30 when 2028 rolls around.
DefcoN - 4/3/2014, 7:31 AM
The real question is how many of us will make it to that year.
lntrn8 - 4/3/2014, 7:31 AM
WB's "map of films" is:
2014(?) - Gotham
2015 - tons of Batman direct to DVD cartoons
2016 - Batman vs Superman
2017 - Batman and the Justice League
Batman vs Wonder Woman
2018 - Batman Reboot
2019 - Batman and the Justice League 2
2020 - Batman Reboot 2
Man of Steel saves Gotham with Batman
2021 - Batman and the Justice League 3
2022 - Batman Reboot 3

not hating, just want to see more than Bats
ProfessorX - 4/3/2014, 7:31 AM
Every Marvel film so far has been great, and that INCLUDES Iron Man 2 and 3.
MrBatmor - 4/3/2014, 7:32 AM
Holy shit!! I think we are going to get thanos in avengers4...they will develop his character in gotg 2 and bring him in a4 to earth...a3 will be civil war
MercwithMouth - 4/3/2014, 7:32 AM

Feige does a shitload more than just talk. The man is the architect of the quickest rising movie studio in history, and soon to have the most lucrative franchise in history as well.
MercwithMouth - 4/3/2014, 7:33 AM
Lol @intrn8!!!
