Malcolm Goodwin, Alex Krosney & David Anders Cast In The CW's iZOMBIE Pilot

iZombie is just one of the onslaught of shows based on DC Comics we should be expecting from the CW this Fall, and it appears as if casting has began, with Breakout Kings alum Malcolm Goodwin landing a starring role. Hit the jump to find out who he, and his two co-stars, will be playing in the pilot.

The CW could soon be mistaken for a DC themed network - what with Arrow going strong, and Flash, Hourman, Young Justice and iZombie in various states of development. Hell, even The Avenger - not originally a DC property, mind - is in in development. Whilst we won't neccisarily see all of these shows debut this Fall, it appears as though we will be seeing iZombie, assuming it is picked up, as casting on the pilot has began.

Deadline reported today that Malcolm Goodwin (Breakout Kings) will star in the potential series as 'Clive', whilst Alexandra Krosney (Last Man Standing) and David Anders (Alias) will co-star in the pilot as Peyton and Blaine, respectively. Check out the description of the pilot below:

iZombie is a supernatural crime procedural that centers on Liv, a med student-turned-zombie who takes a job in the coroner’s office to gain access to the brains she must reluctantly eat to maintain her humanity, but with each brain she consumes, she inherits the corpse’s memories. With the help of her medical boss and a police detective (Goodwin), she solves homicide cases in order to quiet the disturbing voices in her head. Goodwin’s Clive is a detective who recently received a promotion from vice to homicide but has been floundering for his first two months and is in desperate need of making a case. Though dubious at first about Liv’s “psychic” powers, she demonstrates too much accuracy for him not to take her seriously. Krosney plays Peyton, Liv’s best friend and roommate who is baffled by Liv’s recent behavior and feels like they’re drifting apart. Anders cast plays the show’s bad guy Blaine, an entitled rich kid who bites off more than he can chew in the drug business.

iZombie is being developed for the CW by Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero, and is based on the DC Comics Vertigo imprint title of the same name, crated by Chris Roberson and Michael Allred.

I like the actor David Anders. So I hope this show will be good.

So, does she sit in the morgue having a bowl of brains or does she take the brains home in a doggy bag?
DwightShrute - 2/25/2014, 2:04 PM
I need a 5th in command. Fast.
Lozzy - 2/25/2014, 2:05 PM
I'll give it a chance I guess.

This is the first time I'm hearing of this show.

Weird but really interesting. I know the comics don't take place in the DC Universe, but I really hope this takes place in the Arrowverse, if nothing else just so Solomon Grundy can make an appearance.. I think I would nerd out. But it'd also be cool to have some Easter eggs to other parts of the DC Universe.

@DwightShrute You're the assistant to the assistant regional manager. Accept it buddy

The comic is pretty creative.
I think this could easily be an awesome series if handled properly.

Quite 4th in command

I like this cast, but the concept grosses me out. IF it gets picked up, I'll try at least one episode just for it being of comic book origin... I can't guarantee much more after that.

David Anders' character will die like in The Vampire Diaries, Alias, 24 & Heroes;

Alexandra Krosney is hot

This entire series sounds just terrible.

I still think it'd be better if it was about the reanimated corpse of Steve Jobs. They get Ashton Kutcher to play him. They can still call it "iZombie". He's like a normal zombie, but with more megapixels and a larger screen.

Why is this show being made?
GliderMan - 2/25/2014, 6:56 PM
@Bub bc it would work on a channel like the CW.
cdpacheco89 - 2/26/2014, 5:38 AM
Yes....why? Indeed. I'm not entirely sure about this. I've never heard of or read this one before. Has anybody else?
PsyGuy - 2/28/2014, 7:28 AM
I've read it, and its pretty good!

I highly doubt they're going to stick with the comic at all though... the main character doesnt even have the same name.
