justin biebers believe = cinematic triumph LMAO!!

Anchorman 2 was very funny

the anchorman mass riot was good but the fight in the first movie was better- imo

the anchorman team cameos before the fight were better in anchorman 2 though

I still have to give #1 to the Wolverine this year.

I just watched the extended cut for probably the 8th time, and the whole movie still gives me chills. The landscapes, the characters, the performances. It was near perfect.

Now, people will cry about the deviations from source, and the Silver Samurai change, and that's fine. But I've never given a damn about source accuracy. I like to see the original ideas of writers and directors. That's why I love the Wolverine. It's differences from the original story are well handled, and the original ideas were beautifully planned and executed. The cinematography was first rate, and Hugh Jackman gets better each time he returns as Logan.

Everything else was as I imagined it would be...

I loved both Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World
I disliked Man of Steel(well made movie, just don't like Superman).
GodzillaKart - 1/1/2014, 9:53 PM
The worst films IMO:

The Hobbit: Smaug
Ender's Game

The Best:

The Worlds End

Off the top of my head.
GodzillaKart - 1/1/2014, 9:54 PM
I think the Hobbit has to take the cake for the worst of the worst.
GodzillaKart - 1/1/2014, 10:00 PM
Maybe if the Benny Hill song was playing when the dwarves were running around with Smaug?

GodzillaKart - 1/1/2014, 10:26 PM
Oh, sorry!!!!

The Hobbit is [frick]ing stupid.
MCott - 1/1/2014, 11:56 PM
Why do people only remember Cumberbatch as Smaug? He's playing two roles in those movies. Smaug and the Necromancer of Dol Guldur

*Spoiler (if you've read Tolkein, it's not a spoiler)*

The Necromancer is Sauron.
GinjaNinja - 1/2/2014, 7:36 AM
Agreed with what he said about MoS and Thor.

MoS: Flawed but entertaining.
Thor: Great but tonely weird.
DC4KIDS - 1/2/2014, 12:43 PM
The only CBM I liked this year was The Wolverine. I didn't see TDW, and the only reason why MOS & IM3 aren't the most disappointing films I've ever seen is because of how disappointing Prometheus was. Here's hoping the CBM's next year don't suck as hard as they did this year (Even though TASM2 looks like the most generic CBM of all time)
I still haven't seen The Wolf of Wall Street, but the best films I've seen this year are probably 12 Years a Slave, Gravity, Inside Llewyn Davis and Nebraska. Hunger Games Catching Fire and American Hustle were also pretty fantastic.
DC4KIDS - 1/2/2014, 12:45 PM
Oh, and the worst films I saw this year are Hansel & Gretel, Die Hard 5, White House Down, G.I. Joe Retaliation and After Earth (I rented it out of curiosity and nearly fell asleep)
Ramiel - 1/2/2014, 2:49 PM
My fave movies of the year are:

1. Frozen
2. Gravity
3. Prisoners
4. The Conjuring
5. This is the End

Other movies that I enjoyed include: Mud, American Hustle, Anchorman 2, Rush, Wolverine Unrated, Monsters U, Thor: TDW, MOS, IM3, Oblivion, Star Trek: Into Darkness, The Hobbit: TDOS, World's End, Pacific Rim, Saving Mr. Banks, WWZ
