Sylvester Stallone Still Wants Jackie Chan This Time For THE EXPENDABLES 4

He may not have made it in The Expendables 3, but that's not stopping Sylvester Stallone from still being interested in Jackie Chan appearing! Maybe for a fourth installment? Hit the jump and hear what Sylvester Stallone and Jackie Chan have to say.

He was planned to be part of The Expendables 3, but he ultimately couldn't make time. Star of the upcoming third installment in The Expendables franchise, action hero Sylvester Stallone has for a long time wanted Chinese actor/martial artist Jackie Chan to be an Expendable since The Expendables 2 but it was never possible due to scheduling conflicts. In a video interview with Nuke The Fridge, Stallone explains what happened as well as his desire to cast more Asian actors in addition to Jet Li.

In another interview, this time with Den of Geek, Jackie Chan revealed that he was actually approached this morning to appear in a fourth Expendables movie.

"...This morning I did hear - the office called - Sly [Stallone] wants me for Expendables 4. I said, ‘Okay.’ Because they already asked me to be in two and three, but I refused. Well, I didn’t refuse, but I said, ‘Sly, can’t we just do you and me? Not just a bunch of people and me only coming out for five minutes.’ Because then the audience is, ‘Oh!’ And then I’m gone.”

In THE EXPENDABLES 3, Barney (Stallone), Christmas (Statham) and the rest of the team come face-to-face with Conrad Stonebanks (Gibson), who years ago co-founded The Expendables with Barney. Stonebanks subsequently became a ruthless arms trader and someone who Barney was forced to kill... or so he thought. Stonebanks, who eluded death once before, now is making it his mission to end The Expendables -- but Barney has other plans. Barney decides that he has to fight old blood with new blood, and brings in a new era of Expendables team members, recruiting individuals who are younger, faster and more tech-savvy. The latest mission becomes a clash of classic old-school style versus high-tech expertise in the Expendables' most personal battle yet. Lionsgate and Millennium Films present a Nu Image production. The Expendables 3 will be released in 3D and IMAX 3D on Friday, August 15, 2014.

How the [frick] there are three of these movies, let alone them trying to make a fourth one, is well beyond me.

Loved Expendables 1 & 2. They were great for nostalgia and for the classic 80's/90's style action films they were trying to replicate. But Expendables 3 was soooooo bad. It just felt so disjointed and had allot of pacing issues if you ask me. Not sure if making a number 4 is a good idea unless Stallone writes and directs it again like the original.

No more PG13. At least with the R rating you can really get enjoyment out of seeing limbs flying. I was hoping this one was gonna be as gritty as newest Rambo, but nope. Bring in Segal and Chan, and get Cage to play a crazy stereotype of himself.

AlphaMasterFlex - 8/12/2014, 7:01 PM
I enjoy the movies even tho they aren't nearly as good as they should be, looking forward to 3 on friday despite pg13. I'm interested in 4 & Expendabellas just don't get why its been promoted as their last ride. Hopefully for next we head back to R rambo 4 style, Stallone steps down as team leader, Expend and replace team members, villain that is a real threat. Now just because Sly wants it doesn't mean crap, hoping for Chan to replace Li, Rock as villan, Michael Jai White.

If Bruce Lee was alive he would have been an Expendable
DeathMaker07 - 8/12/2014, 9:11 PM

Have Jackie Chan as the villain who is after Jet Li's character and attacks the Expendables at the end have him go one on one with Jet Li it's about time Jet Li does something badass in Expendables. There Mr Stallone we can discuss on private where you can send my check

There won't be another one. This one leaked and I am sure a tons of people downloaded but even more so people that were disappointed by the first two joined them as well. So, even more people just downloaded work print, unfinished version and besides that it had bad tracking unlike 1 & 2.

I agree, I was disappointed as well when they decided to drop a PG-13 3rd movie. It takes away from the principle of the films in the first place. Unbridled 80's action and violence, but now there is hardly anything redeemable about it except for the actors themselves............and these aren't Oscar award winners here....

Great CAST, lousier movie than the second one tho.

as for Jackie Chan's absence..i kinda dig what chan's sayin'. i mean, Jet Li showed up in this one and he was WASTED. they don't showcase his kung fu chops, just him shooting big guns, which the rest of the cast can do as well.

and what disappoints me is..Li and Gibson got history..they're both in Lethal Weapon 4 together..they SHOULD'VE shared a single scene lease. i mean, that kind of stuff is what's been letting me down bout this series.

if you do have Jackie Chan, Sly, don't just have him show up his face..actually have him show off what makes us love him for...his martial arts and comic timing.
