As many expected, The Flash has indeed been given a pilot order, as have The CW's small screen adaptation of Vertigo's iZombie and the planned Supernatural spin-off which has been tentatively titled Supernatural: Tribes. Hit the jump for details on all of these and more!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, The CW has now picked up Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas' adaptation of DC/Vertigo series iZombie to pilot. According to the official description, it's a "supernatural crime procedural that centers on a medical student-turned-zombie who takes a job in the Coroner's Office in order to gain access to the brains she must reluctantly eat so that she can maintain her humanity. However, with every brain she eats, she inherits the corpse's memories. With the help of her medical examiner boss and a police detective, she solves homicide cases in order to quiet the disturbing voices in her head." Thomas and Veronica Mars' Diane Ruggiero is set to pen the script and will also executive produce.

Also going to pilot is Supernatural: Tribes, a spin-off which "will explore the clashing hunter and monster cultures of Chicago." This series comes from Supernatural writer Andrew Dabb, who will executive produce alongside Eric Kripke, Robert Singer, showrunner Jeremy Carver and McG. Singer will direct the Warner Bros. Television entry. Predictably, The Flasg has also been given the green light for a pilot episode. Nothing much was revealed in the logline, but it does say that "Grant Gustin stars as scientist Barry Allen and is given the power of super-speed that transforms him into the Fastest Man Alive." Arrow's Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and DC's Geoff Johns will pen the script and executive produce alongside David Nutter, who will direct the pilot.

TelaVizion - 1/29/2014, 4:16 PM
iZombie would bomb on any other network... But CW might keep it for a couple seasons
marvel72 - 1/29/2014, 4:17 PM
i'll watch the flash to see what that's like, the others not that interested in.
Bread - 1/29/2014, 4:32 PM

Bread - 1/29/2014, 4:33 PM
And I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing more of Gustin's Flash, and the Flash suit!
ALmazing - 1/29/2014, 4:35 PM
Remember guys, these are pilots, they might not get picked up so don't get all your hopes up yet.
Bread - 1/29/2014, 4:36 PM
It says "Flasg"
Bread - 1/29/2014, 4:37 PM
@ALmight- I'm sure Tribes and Flash will be picked up because of their parent shows. Not sure about iZombie though.
DCeddie - 1/29/2014, 4:38 PM
I take it these shows will start next season?
GliderMan - 1/29/2014, 4:41 PM
I vote iZombie to be in the Arrowverse!! Just imagine Solomon Grundy on an episode!!!!!!!!
CherryBomb - 1/29/2014, 4:42 PM

They already started casting for the pilot.
So it's hardly news that a pilot has been greenlit.

But either way, iZombie sounds pretty cool, very different for CW.I like it.
Supernatural: Tribes is a stupid title.
VISIONaryNPa - 1/29/2014, 4:43 PM
I take it these shows will have all beautiful people? meh. -_-

I didn't like the CW when it featured the shitty "smallville" series, and any other series for that matter, The OC, ect.

7th Heaven though, was and is, still fantastic, no matter who you are.

I'll give Flash some of my time.
SuperCat - 1/29/2014, 4:44 PM
Pictures of the Flash in costume, please.
BruceWayneNewton - 1/29/2014, 4:44 PM
Wasn't Grundy already on Arrow?
VISIONaryNPa - 1/29/2014, 4:45 PM
iZombie sounds like a crapfest, no wonder the series comics only got a 3 year run.
Lemons - 1/29/2014, 4:46 PM
The OC was on Fox...
campblood - 1/29/2014, 4:50 PM
worried how flashes powered will translate to live action
thebearjew - 1/29/2014, 4:51 PM
im not sure if flash will be all that successful
I like arrow so im sure it will be cool
just unsure if it will attract as much viewers as arrow
thebearjew - 1/29/2014, 4:51 PM
@campblood I was until I saw tomorrow people you should check it out
GliderMan - 1/29/2014, 4:54 PM
@bluedude If they make him the actual FLASH and get his costume right, as well as doing as good a job as they did with Arrow, I bet it will get more viewers than Arrow.
CherryBomb - 1/29/2014, 4:58 PM

The CW is bringing it lately. They're definitely shaping up to be actually a decent network.

- Tomorrow People is cool, it's special effects are very nice and it has some good story elements sometimes.
- Reing is my absolute guilty pleasure, love LOVE love this show.
- Arrow, really behind on Arrow, but it has been bad-ass from what I've watched.
- Originals is also so freaking good.
JediPhilosopher - 1/29/2014, 5:10 PM
Heavy pointless drama, not my thing, therefore CW not my thing. I don't really know what is my thing any more. :P I'm getting too old for all this I guess.

QuestionDAnswer - 1/29/2014, 5:24 PM
Grant Gustin was awesome in arrow so I'm pretty sure the rest of the cast will be good too. All I need to be fully on board with the Flash show is to see how the costume and cgi for his powers look and then I'm in.
OldBenKenobi - 1/29/2014, 5:27 PM
Flash and Batman costumes now, plz.
GetsugaTensho22 - 1/29/2014, 5:34 PM
iZombie sounds like a slightly horror tinged version of Tru Calling.
I'm really excited for it!
ibravosp5 - 1/29/2014, 5:40 PM
I want to see the first episode of flash asap
DrunkenNukem - 1/29/2014, 5:45 PM
Man now this is good news ....5 DC shows we are going to get in fall of this year...

Arrow 3rd season
Flash first ep
Constantine first ep
iZombie first ep
Gotham first ep.
Oh yeah.

They have to premiere a series per day...

Monday iZombie
Tuesday Gotham
Wednesday Arrow
Thursday Flash
Friday Constantine...nothing better than this show for before weekend
SnapperCarr - 1/29/2014, 5:54 PM
Hopefully Flash pays as much respect to the comics as Arrow does.
Enphlieuwince - 1/29/2014, 5:58 PM
iZombie won't be easy to pull off. I mean, a protagonist that eats brains? But, at the same time the concept is so engrossing that the potential is amazing with the right execution. That's one I'm looking forward to catching, and, they all sound pretty good so far.
dnno1 - 1/29/2014, 6:00 PM
When you mention Tribe, i think of this:

I wouldn't mind seeing this on TV or on film, especially this:

GliderMan - 1/29/2014, 6:07 PM
Screw Gotham.

What was the LEGENDARY DC tease on Arrow?
Dmon - 1/29/2014, 6:27 PM
Eric Kripke was supposed to be working on a Deadman series would have rather seen that then Supernatural: Tribe and iZombie.
Dmon - 1/29/2014, 6:29 PM
I also wish they would revive the idea for a Raven series and make it with all the comic book goodness that Arrow has.
DrunkenNukem - 1/29/2014, 6:43 PM
The [frick] i forgot Hourman....6 [frick]ing DC shows!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yonny616 - 1/29/2014, 7:16 PM
What happened to that rumored live action Young Justice?
Jimdlux - 1/29/2014, 7:22 PM
It's amazing that the only successful CW series was Smallville and then instead of staying on that bandwagon, they went and started making series on unknown/unpopular characters. Wonder woman is easy, follow the Smallville formula. First 2 seasons is her on Paradise Island facing the trials to become the ambassador of her homeland to the U.S. (Basically Xena) and then have her arrive in Season 3. At the very least you will get 3 seasons out of it...

Gotham...who the hell wants to hear Gotham stories without Batman?
NoPhucksGiven - 1/29/2014, 7:33 PM
DC will take what is theirs with fire and blood.
