FURY, HOWARD STARK, & THE COSMIC CUBE POWER

FURY, HOWARD STARK, & THE COSMIC CUBE POWER

WHEN DID FURY ACTUALLY MEET HOWARD STARK? ALSO DID IRONMAN'S ARC REACTOR COME FROM THE COSMIC CUBE!?

In IM2 Nick Fury mentioned to Tony that he knew his father Howard Stark very well. Fury also shared a great deal of info regarding things Howard was working on also his dealing with the Vanko family. Before Fury departed for a mysterious 2 o’clock appointment he left Tony with a chest of things Howard wanted to pass on to him.

(*SPOILER* for those who hasn’t seen Captain America).
Near the end of Cap we see Howard Stark in a boat with a crew seemingly searching for Cap. During his expedition he locates the Cosmic Cube. We had a hint in IM2 that Howard either did research of the “Tesseract” or had it in his possession, for there were schematics and notes about the cube in the chest he left for Tony.

We know Howard along with Vanko created the arc reactor tech Tony uses to power his suits. It seems Howard never fully got the chance to use the Arc reactor tech at the tech’s full potential. Fury tells Tony his father was on to something huge that would over throw the arms race. Fury didn’t appear in Captain America as a part of SSR during WW2 (which is believed to be an early version of Shield). So when did Fury meet Howard? It had to be years later (someone correct me maybe sometime in the 60’s or 70’s?) during the time Howard got Vanko deported about the Arc reactor. Fury would be old enough in this time frame to have been around during the Cuban Missile Crisis or Vietnam in the 70’s. This explains why Fury knew so much about the situation but wasn’t around during SSR days. Howard knew something bad was going to happen for him to leave Tony with clues and Fury made sure tony was aware when the time was right. Mentioned by a few intelligent CMB members the Cube’s power that Arim Zola and Red Skull used to power Hydra vehicles and weapons look and sound extremely similar to Ironman’s repulsor beams!
Is the Arc reactor really Cosmic Cube power!??

We know the Red Skull found out late what the cube could really do, by that time he was warped to a different realm. He and Zola never got the full potential out of the cube. It seems Howard was having trouble tapping the cubes full potential as well only getting the Arc reactor out of it and leaving clues for Tony to figure out.
There are lots of pieces to this puzzle that is missing but it seems the closer we get to Avengers the picture gets a little more visible. Captain America’s film answered some questions but still leaves us to use pure logic to figure out the answers connecting dots from other build up films.
Ok all my bright peers! Sound off!!

Yeah, I don't think there's any question that the cube had something to do with the arc reactor tech.

Marvel pays a LOT of attention to detail in these movies and there is no way they would have just recycled the sound effects from Tony's repulsors and used them in the Hydra weapons also. Not a chance.

Good work, buddy

@CorndogBurglar THANKS BRO...YEA IT MAKES TOTAL SENSE. AS TO WHY HOWARD HAD INFO ON THE CUBE. MARVEL IS DOING A GREAT JOB WITH DETAIL

CRleo1995 - 7/28/2011, 4:05 PM
But how would the power from the cube had gone to Tony Stark first prototypes of the suit if he didn't have his fathers info of the cube and his other inventions until Iron-Man 2?
Denn1s - 7/28/2011, 4:31 PM
tony created the reactor in a cave, not using his father's schematics
JackDexx - 7/28/2011, 4:34 PM
i thought that was suppose to be another continuity thing marvel had down, with the arc being cosmic cube powered. so cool.
JackDexx - 7/28/2011, 4:34 PM
ya but what about the big one at home.
KingKazma - 7/28/2011, 4:40 PM
Denn1s:

Tony used the design of the huge Arc reactor from his lab and recreated it and miniaturized out of pure memory.

If they're following what the cube really does in the comics. The cube grants the deepest desires of the person who holds it come true. The one thing through out the movie was that the Red Skull kept thinking himself as a God. Which meant it basically shot himself to Asgard and probably granted him with God like abilities like the Asgardians.

I dunno if anyone noticed the sound that all the Cosmic Cube guns make in Cap but when the trigger is pressed and the gun is "charging up" it makes the same sound that Tony's suit makes when he fires from his hands..just saying..I thought it was really interesting that they sounded so similar.

I didn't think about this, but if they planned that ahead of time, massive kudos to them. Awesome.

@CRleo1995 & Denn1s

THE REACTOR HE MADE IN THE CAVE WAS FROM KNOWLEDGE HE ALREADY HAD ABOUT THE BIG REACTOR @ STARK INDUSTRIES..UR RIGHT @ THAT TIME HE HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF THE CUBE..BUT THAT DOESNT MEAN HOWARD DIDNT USE THE CUBE TO CREATE THE ARC REACTOR TECH..

@JackieDexx ..YEA THE BIG REACTOR @ HOME IM THINKING IS MADE FROM THE CUBES POWER...WE KNOW TONY HAS KNOW KNOWLEDGE OF THE CUBE IN THE CAVE BUT HE MADE HIS REACTOR BASED OF OF WHAT HE KNOWS OF THE BIG REACTOR TECH @ STARK INDUSTRIES
Orphix - 7/29/2011, 8:48 AM
I wonder what Nick Fury's Two O'Clock was?

The meeting with Selvig?
A meeting with Cap??
To get his haircut?
ROBBEATZZZ - 7/29/2011, 10:45 AM
@Orphix..DUDE!..I WAS THINKING THE SAME ABOUT THE SELVAG MEETING..HEY IN THAT MCU TIMELINE DOES IT MAKE IT POSSIBLE FOR FURY TO MEET SELVAG @ THAT TIME?..OR WAS THE 2 OCLOCK JUST THE REPORT FROM COULSON ABOUT THE HAMMER IN NEW MEXICO?..ALL INTERESTING!

Man, I can't wait to see this film on Wednesday.

I never imagined when I had first seen IM1 in 2008 that this Cinematic Universe would unfold like this.

Truly brilliant. Never imagined the Cosmic Cube to play such an integral part.

@Orphix ~ Haircut probably :P

@Armageddon26..*SPOILERS*..

YEAH I THINK CAP TOOK A SAMPLE OF THE POWER FROM THE HYDRA FACTORY..ALSO THE HOWLING COMMANDOS HAD HYDRA GUNS..BUT YEA HOWARD DID EXPERIMENT B4 HE GOT THE CUBE

THE ELEMENT IN IM2 WAS MADE BY COMBINED MATERIALS..I THINK THE BEAM AND SOME KIND OF METAL..MAYBE VIBRANIUM?

ALSO THE EQUIP TONY USED TO MAKE THE ELEMENT WAS TAKEN FROM A CRATE THAT READ PROJECT P.E.G.A.S.U.S..IF IT WASNT IN THE ACTUALL FILM IT WAS IN DELETED SCENE..

NO IT WAS ELECTRONS OR SOME ISSH... IDK IM STILL LOST ON WHAT THAT ELEMENT WAS MADE FROM IN IM2
dresenpai - 7/29/2011, 1:24 PM
Everyone needs to keep in mind that Marvel used the Thor movie to stress the fact that magic and technology are one in the same. This means the arc reactor may have similar power to the cosmic cube but it is on an incredibly smaller level.
