"TED knocks the stuffing out of The Dark Knight"

We do like our teddy bears here in the UK.
AmazingFantasy - 8/9/2012, 7:22 AM
Oh wow that's sad... Teds been out for weeks and still knocked "TEH FIREZ RESIS" off its throne, good. This film isnt God.
A shot movie, I was a fan of Nolan now I am a dissapointed Batman fan.

But... Ted knocked TDKR?

Such a disaapointment. God it was horrid.

@TheGoddamnDeadpool - It was an opening weekend for Ted in the UK.
jessepostal - 8/9/2012, 7:26 AM
I thought Ted was the funniest comedy movie of the past few years.
marvel72 - 8/9/2012, 7:37 AM
ted is the funniest comedy of the year, the dictator & 21 jump st weren't bad either.
hellfire - 8/9/2012, 7:40 AM
Ted is frickin excellent it got a little bit slow at times but well worth the watch.
Knightrider - 8/9/2012, 7:43 AM
@Blueberry Agreed, I thought I had him mixed up with someone else when he started saying how hyped he was an is now disappointed, because all lead up was was never hyped and was sounding quite anti-TDKR.
jessepostal - 8/9/2012, 7:49 AM
@marvel72, u liked the dictator? I tried watching it last night, got annoyed very quickly with it, the first five min were the only times I laughed
marvel72 - 8/9/2012, 8:13 AM
@ jessepostal

i thought it was quite good,it did make me laugh in places.

i'll have to watch it again see if its still funny after repeat veiwings.

.TED is shit. same formula from mcfarlane as his animated shows.. crap movie.
kevberg - 8/9/2012, 8:32 AM
stop me if you've heard this before:
1) main character and his out-of -the norm talking sidekick....dog, alien, bear--on of his shows has a talking bear already..

2)features an outlandish over drawn fight scene thats an homage to famous movie fight scenes

3)overly vulgar humor

4) big band music as a staple of all his shows

5)ADD storytelling that almost makes no sense as it navigates from A-C.

like i said ..sh@t. especially if you've already seen his shows.
kevberg - 8/9/2012, 12:08 PM
Oh..I forgot, the stars..( besides mcfarlane)

Mila Kunis-(meg)
patrick warburton-(joe)
Alex chick that does the voice of lois,
Patrick Stewart - (american dad)

I know guys like whedon uses friends in all his stuff too, but this just added to the Family guy the live action feel. ad admittedly , Mila Kunis is good in this as the kinda cool girl any geek would want and Laura Vandervoort was great too.

ManofSteel22 - 8/9/2012, 12:49 PM
wasnt THAT funny, the comedy was over rated
jessepostal - 8/9/2012, 1:24 PM
so what if it was the same formula as family guy, it was fn funny
jessepostal - 8/9/2012, 1:24 PM
wow some of you are really mad bout this?
dancingmonkey08 - 8/9/2012, 2:49 PM
love McFarlane's comedies, so I cant wait to see this

But I was disappointed Batman didnt have a couple more weeks at the top of the box office, but it doesnt matter, he is going to reach 1 billion dollars again and thats all that matters. Plus Batman and the Avengers will pretty much be equal for box office when you take out the extra money for 3-D. Im not a DC or Nolanite, Im just saying 3D does give Avengers an extra advantage

And in relation to the box office, Im really disappointed The Amazing Spider-Man didnt beat The Hunger Games or Ice Age. All it needed was another 80 million dollars!!! I am disappointed with that (Although at least I wasnt one of the people convinced Spider-Man was going to hit 1 billion dollars, that was a bit silly)

We could of have had three superhero movies as the top 3 highest grossing movies of the year (if Skyfall or the Hobbit didnt interfere). But nevermind, at least all three of the best comic book movies of the year made it into the top 5 (for the moment at least)
AmazingFantasy - 8/9/2012, 3:49 PM
Butthurt lol it flows here
JULEZ13 - 8/9/2012, 4:17 PM
If you like Seth McFarlene's cartoons you will love Ted, if you don't love Seth McFarlene's cartoons you'll hate Ted.

I liked Ted, I found it hilarious, I never ever seen my boyfriend laugh so hard that he was crying.

To me, it was more entertaining than TDKR. But thats just me.

I'm actually hoping that Ted was the launching pad for more Seth McFarlene movies in the future.

I love vulgar humor. ;D
CPBuff22 - 8/9/2012, 5:16 PM
@dancingmonkey08 But you have to take into account that 3D sales listed for Avengers include IMAX because it was in IMAX 3D and TDKR has broken all the IMAX records so I say that makes them even since IMAX tickets are $2 more than standard 3D.
dancingmonkey08 - 8/9/2012, 6:57 PM
@CPBuff22

cool, well I was wrong lol thank you for that, I didnt understand about the IMAX tickets
hellfire - 8/10/2012, 2:27 AM
I can see Seth going down the root of them coping with a kid and TED in the sequel. Yes TED is a well used formula but who the frick cares as long as it's funny. Ok so toilet humour is not to ever ones liking but to those that enjoy Family Guy or American Dad they'll get a kick out of TED. For those that don't like FG or AD why the frick would you want to go an see a film by Seth Macfarlane
