But I also love the Thomas Jane movie because of the Punisher vs Russian fight scene.

My pick is still Jon Bernthal. I almost hope he passes on suicide squad if it meant Marvel would sign him. They won't though.

It wasn't even Punisher. The walking cartoon Dolph Lundgren wouldn't wear a skull on his shirt, because "it's too cartoony". No death's head, no Punsiher.

The Punisher is long overdue to make his MCU debut. Hopefully one day we get to see this in live action.

Should be based on the 2005 Punisher game. It was an adataption of Welcome Back, Frank written by Garth Ennis and Jimmy Palmiotti, with small changes to fit into the Punisher 2004 movie universe. Could easily make the same changes to fit into the MCU.

Agents of SHIELD did drop a Microchip shoutout like near the end of the first half of S2. So hope that means something.

There's a difference between having balls and being stupid.

Daredevil doesn't have to be R rated on Netflix to do his origin right.

A hard PG-13 or TV-MA would be more than sufficient.

Its like you want a R rating just because it "looks" cool and you might see some nudity.

Disney made one of the most graphic mainstream films of all-time with Pulp Fiction. So yeah.. They can get dirty if they want to.

A PG-16 (TV-MA) is just about right for Punisher. It doesn't have to be a Frank Miller wet dream to suit the character. My only problem with the PG-13 rating for him is the limitations on language that would seem suitable to the various gangsters he'd be punishing.

But ratings are bullshit, anyway. You can send the same movie twice to the MPAA and get different ratings.

@aknightinarkham: Thomas Jane's Punisher was alright. I'd say it's the best one, but that's not saying much. That Ray Stevenson one was incredibly bad. He couldn't even take out that one cop in hand to hand combat. What a loser.

It's not about the rating it's about the story, Daredevil will be a rated R type of series because if they stick to the source material DD will end a few episodes with his suit in shreds & him covered in blood. The Punisher needs blood & violence not because it looks cool but to tell his story. He's NOT a hero, he's not doing it to save people or for the greater good, he wants the people that hurt his family to pay that's it & the violence that uses lets you know just how far he will go. That's what War Zone was missing, Jane's Punisher made you feel his pain & his anguish where they lost it was the villain & Frank giving a monologue to Travolta at the end. The Punisher would have tourtured the man who had his family killed then blew his ass up. You slap that ending on Jane's movie & it would have been almost perfect (wasn't a fan of the C.I.A. part either) but in Jane's defense he didn't direct the movie!!!

I hate to say it but I liked Ray Stevenson as The Punisher better than I liked Thomas Jane. He just had the look. Now, as far as movies go, I enjoyed both and I have nothing against Jane. Dirty Laundry was awesome. But Stevenson's Punisher was sadly overlooked in the mainstream.

Dolph was an awesome punisher, you could see the pain he was in. He looked so numb and broken. Sure it's an 80s action movie but he def played the role.

I've still not seen Warzone. I saw it on TV once and recorded it, but just never watched more than five minutes...

The Jane film was seriously flawed, but it had some brilliant sequences and Jane's performance was perfect. Like Chris Evans' Cap, I didn't think Jane had the right look for Castle until I saw him bring the exact right soul to the part.

Great tie-in game, as well.
