"why does he needs lungs"? well...why do WE need lungs? :P
TopCat89 - 2/21/2014, 2:09 AM
Watched this last night online - was an OK film, nothing special....the reassembly sequence was good, other than that I thought meh....the ending was poor

I'd prefer a 'Dredd' sequel...any news on that, other than the comic book recently?
Spidey91 - 2/21/2014, 2:15 AM
well, they look like artificial lungs, I'm pretty sure his real lungs got messed up in the explosion, along with everything else :P
and to give this movie one point over the original, Robocop with lungs makes more sense than Robocop with stomach.
TheGreenBastard - 2/21/2014, 2:21 AM
Great movie!!! The scene where they reveal what's left of him, is extremely well don't. I really enjoyed this movie, and it was a great movie to start the year with.
TheGreenBastard - 2/21/2014, 2:28 AM
"well stomach seem stupid but he has a brain, brain need blood, blood need nutrients"........uhhhhhhhh....The brain needs oxygen more, little guy. So, your point is moot. You may also want to fix you spelling, and grammar. You come off like a tard.
Ancar - 2/21/2014, 2:31 AM
Man, that was awesome! Very good job!
Spidey91 - 2/21/2014, 2:31 AM
they can just feed him nutrients through those tubes he has on his back...why are we arguing about cyborg anatomy? :P

So many people didn't like the movie but I actually enjoyed it, as a true Robocop fan they did great. The spirit is there and they actually stayed true on the character. There were so many reference to the old one too. The ending was a little bit underwhelming and the original had a high note ending but this movie to me was overall great. The one thing I hate about it was his color scheme but they actually fixed it. It was made with a true Robocop fan.

This movie was Bad ass, I look forward to see the sequel in which he faces a much more formidable foe.

I have no idea why people said that this movie a robocop fan since 1987,I'm glad they did the right thing and more relevant.I can accept robocop can runwhich is totally different than the original one which is quit stiffed.and I am damn enjoyed.I bet the sequel will be more interesting and more challenge to our beloved robocop.I am on for sequel.way to go,robo!

Nice concept art.

I thought the movie was good and entertaining and much better cast/acting than the original. It's bombing but I think the low expectations brought me in with no place to go but up.
loki668 - 2/21/2014, 3:08 AM
I could think of FAR worse things to say to Murphy when he woke up:

Seeing it this weekend. Excited!

@itCameFromPlanetEarth - If you bothered to watch the movie instead of assuming, then you'd know the reason why.

He's created as a propoganda marketing ploy, he's a cyborg in order to sway the public's opinion that machines can police in the USA because that's the only place in the world that does't allow robots to be used in enforcement.

Showing a Cyborg can police better than a regular cop is the first step, showing a robot can police better than a cyborg is the final step and that way the sway public opinion and gain a lucrative contract supplying said robots.

The bare essentials of his internal organs are all thats needed to keep his brain functioning, obviously they need that to work to show the public he's still a real person inside hence the face just like the original movie. The hand also is the other obvious sign of humanity, its literally the human touch and all the attributes that goes with it that we associate with being human.

Diss the movie all you want but its a pretty good scifi flick and is not flopping at all as you think. Infact after two weeks in international release it's already earned its budget total and although a number three debut at the weekend in the USA, its actually climbed to the number two with very little fall off in the usual expected percentage drops. All that is an indication of good word of mouth its getting form the general public despite polarizing reviews from the critics.

Uh oh!!!!! Someone has a guilty conscience.
loki668 - 2/21/2014, 4:26 AM
There's an app for that!

@itCameFromPlanetEarth, how did the movie bomb? It just came out.
thespork - 2/21/2014, 5:43 AM
Really enjoyed, was pleasantly surprised at how many questions it actually asked the audience (like the original did) and it not just being a soulless teen action flick.

Also, to say it was a PG-13, the bit where they reveal what's left is pretty striking.

Give me Robocop 2, Dredd 2 and Riddick 4 studios! Nice to see some quality sci-fi in cinema again.
thewolfx - 2/21/2014, 6:00 AM
That stupid pointless hand
MrReese - 2/21/2014, 6:05 AM
I [frick]s with it.
TheGreenBastard - 2/21/2014, 6:18 AM
Actually, the hand is a tip of the hat to the original.
PunPun - 2/21/2014, 7:39 AM
All you idiots saying it bombed. It's already almost made back its budget and for a movie that was almost universally panned before it even came out, that's pretty [frick]ing good.

Only 3 things bad about the movie: The music choice for his training sequence against the bots. The music choice for the credits (which you technically don't need to count). And the somewhat awkward and unsatisfying ending. Everything else was incredible.
Darth258 - 2/21/2014, 7:43 AM
I think his hand was left there for the purpose of the final scene at the top of the building.
He did override the system because that hand was human in my opinion.
Darth258 - 2/21/2014, 8:01 AM
Also, since it's the hand he shoot with, it was left there because in the scene with the guy with the robotic hand playing a guitar they showed how bad mechanics work when there's a certain amount of emotions.
Darth258 - 2/21/2014, 8:03 AM
To me it was kinda obvious after that why they left the "stupid pointless hand".
So i'm not sure if it was really that hard to understand or you people just didn't watch the movie..
coganoid - 2/21/2014, 1:51 PM
The original was a poorly acted and overblown as a great film. It's barely above a B grade film.
Greengo - 2/21/2014, 9:14 PM
Uhhh. He was actually shooting guns with both hands!!!! Lol did you see the movie????

I don't think you need to be a musician to pull a f'n trigger.

I know I don't.
Greengo - 2/21/2014, 9:15 PM
This part of the movie was very unsettling.
Greengo - 2/21/2014, 9:17 PM
Wait I read that wrong.

ok so they left his hand so he could masturba--- oh, wait -_-
Greengo - 2/21/2014, 9:19 PM
On a less gloomy/gory note, at least he got his silver suit back at the end.
GLprime2814 - 2/22/2014, 12:09 AM
Dredd was a better robocop movie.
Doppelganger - 2/22/2014, 3:31 PM
coganoid Did you just watch the original for the first time recently? Sounds like you have as thats such a false statement.
I guarantee the original would still be watched 20 years from now and the reboot will be forgotten in 5.
