why did they cut it? it's 50s anyway
ThedamnBatman - 6/11/2014, 3:54 PM
I didn't really have an existential crysis about why they saved his hand anyways while watchin the movie

Him having his right hand kind of throws me off but it's whatever
Poolio - 6/11/2014, 3:59 PM
Typical. A stupid director leaves out a good scene that explains why they chose Murphy in the first place.
mmadadamm - 6/11/2014, 3:59 PM
that pimp walk at the end
CaptainAmerica31 - 6/11/2014, 4:01 PM
It's so he can still rub one off without accidentally ripping it off
SoundWave - 6/11/2014, 4:05 PM
Of course let's delete the most important scene and don't answer on all people's questions about this f**ng hand. Creators of this movie are the most stupid toads ever. And all remakes of brilliant Paul Verhoeven's movies must burn in hell with all their stupid creators. Next step is sh!tty PG-13 Starship Troopers, could it be so bad as Total ReSh!t and RoboSh!t? Yes, it will be even worse! 100% information, I'm from future, I know it.

CherryBomb - 6/11/2014, 4:17 PM
"Why did they save his right hand?"

Brainiac13 - 6/11/2014, 4:17 PM
Great movie.....but the original is still better.
AsgardianHobo - 6/11/2014, 4:19 PM
Kinda wanted to see this because it has Gary Oldman in it.........but no......just cant do it... (blows off dust from Robocop VHS tape)
REPOMAN - 6/11/2014, 4:20 PM

A lame excuse for a stupid cheat at the end of the film for him to raise his right hand and shoot Dick Jones.

JayJayCAW - 6/11/2014, 4:21 PM
@captainerica31: did you see the movie? What's he gonna "rub", his oil canister lol
RexDartEskimoSpy - 6/11/2014, 4:42 PM
I'm glad Merc posted that Family Guy so I don't have to do it.
DeusExSponge - 6/11/2014, 4:47 PM
Wow that would have been a nice scene to include! Why would they choose to delete this scene?!
Marxman12 - 6/11/2014, 4:48 PM
We already know why they kept his right hand. It was so the public knew a human was pulling the trigger. OmniCorp kept the only body parts they needed. They didn't have to reduce him to a head, heart, lungs, and hand. That shows you how evil OmniCorp was. They literally stripped Murphy of his humanity.
GeekyCheekyChic - 6/11/2014, 5:04 PM
reminds me when I saw this with my guy he said "at least they could have salvaged his penis..he does have a wife for Christ's sake"
dellamorte1872 - 6/11/2014, 5:05 PM
I wouldn't call this; the Most important scene ever! but it interesting to know bc it is a stretch to my suspension of disbelief lungs, head, and.......right hand?
dellamorte1872 - 6/11/2014, 5:08 PM
Data worked whatever he had fine lol @baroness
dellamorte1872 - 6/11/2014, 5:14 PM
I get as a sci fi enthusiast the whole central nervous system thing but.....that hand wasn't connected to anything that wasn't cybernetic
CaptainAmerica31 - 6/11/2014, 5:19 PM
@Jay Touché
SuperCat - 6/11/2014, 5:43 PM
Enjoyed this movie. But I can see why that scene was deleted. Wasn't really necessary.
ComicsBornAndBred - 6/11/2014, 5:44 PM
Movie handled the metaphysical and emotional part of being turned from a man into machine well. More action is needed next time and a better villain
grif - 6/11/2014, 6:00 PM
a better villain? there was no villain
GL - 6/11/2014, 6:10 PM
@Repo, thank you so much for saying that. I didn't get that final scene until now LMAO
GL - 6/11/2014, 6:10 PM
When he shot him I was like "HOW?!" but now I get it since he used his human hand
TheGreenBastard - 6/11/2014, 6:23 PM
Having the scene in where they address the hand would have been a very nice counter to the original version, but it not being in isn't a deal breaker. I really enjoyed this flick, and reallllllly hope it gets a sequel.
Himura - 6/11/2014, 6:47 PM
I enjoyed this movie too. I can see why they cut it. The reasoning to keep his hand is retarded.
CouchTater - 6/11/2014, 7:12 PM
That's funny I watched this not 5 minutes ago. Paid 12.99 for the Blu Ray. Not a bad reboot in many ways better than the original.
DrunkenNukem - 6/11/2014, 7:26 PM
JediPhilosopher - 6/11/2014, 7:42 PM
I disapprove of this movie's existence. That is all.
TMcFarlaneFan - 6/11/2014, 7:53 PM
Robocop 2014 was like the old Canadian TV series with some big actors in supporting roles.

And history will repeat itself. This crap will become a terrible TV show filmed in Canada and set in Detroit.
sKeemAn - 6/11/2014, 9:20 PM
This was actually a good reboot. I was pleasantly surprised at how well they handled the emotional side of Murphy. I never really cared about his hand, I just assumed they wanted to at least keep some part of his body for his human side.
Keaton got the serious pimp walk at the end. love it.
uvsk420 - 6/11/2014, 9:29 PM
BlackIceJoe - 6/11/2014, 9:38 PM
I enjoyed the film and think it could have only gotten better with a sequel. But that's now not going to happen. At least he went back to the silver version at the end of the movie.
