According to Deadline, actor William Fichtner has been set to play the villain in the Gore Verbinski-directed action western film, The Lone Ranger. He is replacing Dwight Yoakam, who had to dropped out of the project due to scheduling conflict.

"Disney has tapped William Fichtner to replace Dwight Yoakam in The Lone Ranger. He will play the bad guy that Yoakam was set to take on before the actor-singer dropped out Friday because of a scheduling conflict."

The Lone Ranger had some production problems before they even started filming. Big budget and script were two main reasons why everything was delayed. But now, it seems that they are moving forward, with Armie Hammer, Johnny Depp and Ruth Wilson also starring in the upcoming film. The Lone Ranger is set for May 31, 2013 release.

Talking to /Film, Taylor Kitsch has once again expressed interest in returning for a John Carter sequel; also revealing why exactly he's looking forward to bringing the Edgar Rice Burroughs created character back to the big screen. "It’s such an origin story for JC, this one, and you’re always trying to ground yourself, in the first weeks of any film, of the tone, the character, of all that stuff. But now we have it," he said. "This sequel, we’re landing and we’re going full tilt. So that’s what I’m excited to do. You guys will know where John is so there’s no explaining the back story anymore. And I know where Stanton’s going with it and it’s pretty great."

However, he did make it clear that he won't return for a second instalment without director Andrew Stanton. "Him? Yeah. Yeah I won’t do it unless it’s him." Of course, as with most

First Look At Supergirl, Batgirl and Wondergirl From SUPER BEST FRIENDS FOREVER

Here are Faust's versions of Supergirl, Batgirl and Wondergirl from Super Best Friends Forever, a new series of shorts (five episodes, and they’re a minute and 15 seconds long) for Cartoon Network's DC Nation block of programming which airs March 3rd..

Says Faust..

I’ve been a comics fan my whole life. So I took what I knew of the history of Batgirl and Supergirl and Wondergirl. I just wanted to put together a superteam with the attitude of, ‘It’s fun to be a superhero.’ And taking a real approach, a fun and funny approach to what it’s like to be a teenage girl, and mixing that up with a superhero [story.]

Well, can't all be for the lads! Getting more kids, specifically girls, interested in comics and superheroes can never be a bad thing, so it should be fun for the youngsters.

"We knew starting the movie that we didn't have a finished second or third act," the director revealed in a recent interview with Empire Magazine. The production was shut down for several months roughly halfway through shooting in order for them to figure out how to finish off the story. While many saw this as a sign of trouble, Sonnenberg is slightly more optimistic about the risky plan. "Was it responsible? The answer is, if this movie does as well as I think it will, it was genius. If it's a total failure, then it was a really stupid idea."

Rick Baker, the special effects make-up artist who has worked on the aliens for each of the Men in Black movies had this to say: "It was a crazy production. Warner Bros. has held the live-action feature rights to Tite Kubo's massively successful manga and anime, Bleach for quite sometime. However, despite rumors of development, the project never seemed to gain any traction. Today, Variety reports that Wrath of the Tiatns writer Dan Mazeau has been tasked by the studio to adapt the property, while Peter Segal will serve as produce and may also direct the film.

In comparison to the American comic market, Bleach currently has 75 million print copies in circulation....in just Japan,a tiny island country with a population of about 127.5 million. If I do the math correctly, that's one copy for roughly 60% of the population. I can also assure you that the anime and manga are also a huge success here in America and in other countries.

The film tells the story of war-weary, former military captain John Carter (Taylor Kitsch), who is inexplicably transported to Mars where he becomes reluctantly embroiled in a conflict of epic proportions amongst the inhabitants of the planet, including Tars Tarkas (Willem Dafoe) and the captivating Princess Dejah Thoris (Lynn Collins). In a world on the brink of collapse, Carter rediscovers his humanity when he realizes that the survival of Barsoom and its people rests in his hands.

Deadline is reporting that Spartacus' Jai Courtney has landed the role of John McClane's son in A Good Day To Die Hard. The fifth movie in the franchise will be directed by John Moore (Max Payne), and is expected to be released February 14, 2013.

Jai landing the part is viewed as quite the surprise, as many actors were in contention, but no one had Courtney on their short lists. It is believed the Chris Hemsworth's brother, Liam (The Hunger Games) was the runner-up.

Jai Courtney is best known for playing Varro in cable television show, Spartacus: Blood and Sand. He also landed a role in Tom Cruise's new film, One Shot, and will be in Aaron Eckhart's I, Frankenstein, which begins filming in Australia in a few days.

Outing the extended minute-long Super Bowl ad roughly two weeks ago, an up-to-date theatrical trailer for Marvel Studios' "best outing yet," The Avengers, is very well much-needed. And with Andrew Stanton's John Carter flick nearing it's March 9th release, placing an exclusive Avengers trailer in front of it, a la WB's The Dark Knight Rises prologue and Mission Impossible 4, would be a smart distributive move on Disney's part. Now accordingly, I stumbled across the following via The Avengers' German Facebook profile, making things official.

BAAAM! In a week it's finally back so far: A brand new trailer from Marvel's the Avengers will be published next Wednesday at 6 pm. Who do you see more in this trailer? (Translated by Bing)

Word 'round the campfire is Marvel considers The Avengers to be their best outing yet. I've talked to some cynics in the group who weren't sure it was going to come together and they're all doing their mea culpas now. They say it has the heart, the action, the humor and the suspense a movie like The Avengers should have. The only criticisms I've heard is that Whedon's eye isn't as cinematic as it should be, but that the rest of the movie is so good that you accept it.
