Star Trek fans haven't had a product on the air since 2005, when Enterprise went off the air. While J.J. Abrams has breathed new life into the film franchise, no one as of yet has been able to resuscitate the brand for the small screen.

AICN has been contacted by Bryan Fuller (Pushing Daisies) who informs the site that:
the two Bryans, who have long (but separately) contemplated new “Star Trek” TV series, have discussed the possibility of pooling their resources to take a new corner of Gene Roddenberry’s multiverse to the small screen.

Fuller is currently the producer on NBC's The Munsters remake, which was recently retitled Mockingbird Lane. And Bryan Singer is on board as the director of the crucial pilot episode. If the show is successful it will go a long way to creating the type of confidence CBS would need in order to greenlight another Star Trek adventure.

What's the best science fiction game series? Some might say Halo, others might say Metroid, and then there's the Mass Effect series. Mass Effect uses two of the things that make a great game: a compelling story and amazing gameplay. Over the years, comics would be released to compliment a game series. While some are fan favorites, some fall flat and earn the term 'cash in.' I had recently completed Mass Effect 2 on the PS3, (never played the first one cause I don't have an Xbox) and it's by far one of the best games I've ever played. So as the hype surrounding the upcoming third game continues, Dark Horse released a four issue mini-series called Mass Effect: Invasion. In two months the trade paperback will be released. If you haven't read the issues before, I highly recommend pre-ordering this. It does exactly what a game comic should do: Complement

New Bane T-Shirts at SuperHeroStuff.com

It's Bane. He may have cheated a little, but he managed to do what so many villains tried so very hard to do for oh-so-very long: He trounced good sir Batman. So, I guess that means...we glorify the guy with a bunch of nifty-keen, 100% Cotton t-shirts! Look! We got Bane jumping down from somewhere! Angrily! Look! We got Bane and Batman ready to kick the living crap out of each other! You damn well know Batman's got some freaky martial arts technique he's been saving up for this particular grudge match. He's gonna' employ the....the Red Lion-Flower Technique....or something. And we got Batman and Bane! Together! Unless one is sneaking up on the the other. Not realy sure about the state of the relationship here. Anyway, you can check out all our cool new designs on our Bane shirts page.

The series has slowed down lately as they became more secure in their camp after the shocking events of "No Man's Land". However, these are clearly an indication that things will once again get even harder for Rick Grimes and company. All Kirkman had to say was, "After Rick and the other survivors are brought into a larger world, they are given something to fear. Check back Monday for another look at what’s in store for Rick and his people."

A couple of days ago we were presented with a rumor from Variety that Russel Crowe was being considered for the role of Alex Murphy in the up coming Robocop remake. While the rumor did not seem very likely there had to be some validity to it given the source. Crowe was asked on twitter by user @DRockDot if he was being courted for the role. He responded with just a plain "No".

Crowe also used twitter to address the Noah rumor as well telling MovieWebs twitter feed And I'm eyeing him(Darren Aronofsky) right back...Liam's eyeing both of us... and Paramount are eyeing us all, including you. Early predictions for this weekend at the box office suggest that 20th Century Fox's Chronicle - a found footage/superhero film directed by Josh Trank which follows three teenagers with super powers - will possibly make the same amount as as CBS Films' The Woman In Black. Deadline says that both films will likely make $5-7 million on Friday, and perhaps $13-15 million over the weekend. So far, Woman In Black has held onto a slight lead longer than expected, and could come out on top. Still, check back later this weekend for a clearer idea of what to expect.

It's been said that, should Chronicle be a success at the box office, Fox could hire Josh Trank to helm their reboot of the Fantastic Four film franchise. The movie has received good word of mouth so far (it currently has an 85% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 100 reviews), so there's

COMICS: KEVIN SMITH Passed On Writing One Of The WATCHMEN Prequels

Yesterday, it was revealed that Shiloh Fernandez was cast in the lead role of the upcoming remake of The Evil Dead. Now, Deadline reports that Jane Levy - who's starred in Paramount's Fun Size, the ABC series Suburgatory and Showtime's Shameless - has been cast in the female lead in the Fede Alvarez-directed horror film. The role was previously held by Mirror Mirror's Lily Collins, who recently dropped out due to 'date issues'.

Levy's character, Mia, is essentially the female equivalent of Ash (played by Bruce Campbell in the original films, and will not feature in this new version), described as "one of five young people who head to the remote cabin where evil awaits. Recovering from a recent overdose, Mia is particularly vulnerable". Sam Raimi, Bruce Campbell and Rob Tapert are producing the film.

The Evil Dead is set to hit theaters on April 12th, 2013.

The shoot will take place in Montreal.

The latest chapter of the groundbreaking saga that began with 2000's hit sci-fi film Pitch Black and 2004's The Chronicles of Riddick reunites writer/director David Twohy (A Perfect Getaway, The Fugitive) and star Vin Diesel (the Fast and Furious franchise, xXx). Diesel reprises his role as the antihero Riddick, a dangerous, escaped convict wanted by every bounty hunter in the known galaxy.

The infamous Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he's encountered. The only way off is for Riddick to activate an emergency beacon and alert mercenaries who rapidly descend to the planet in search of their bounty.

This bit of news is going to leave a lot of fans physically sick. Much of what today's comic fans claim is wrong with the Big Two are corrected in creator owned series, and no other title embodies this achievement more than Mark Waid's Irredeemable/Incorruptible series. Started in 2009, the Eisner and Harvey Award nominated series is both critically and financially successful so it comes as a bit of a shock that Waid is ending the story now. But that just goes to show that money was never Waid's primary motivation, he simply had a story to tell and now that it's complete, he'll simply stop.

The final story arcs for the two series will take place in Irredeemable #34-#37 and Incorruptible #27-#30.

And unlike the drama surrounding Alan Moore and Watchmen, Waid has complete control over his characters, so don't expect more stories, unless Waid wants them.
