Andrew Kreisberg Says He Starts Work On The BOOSTER GOLD TV Show Before Christmas

While promoting Arrow, Andrew Kreisberg talked a little bit about his involvement with the Booster Gold TV series, and says that he will start working on it in the upcoming weeks before Christmas.

Ever since the show was announced some time ago, news on the new Booster Gold television show has been sparse at best. Last we heard was that Kreisberg was planning on handing in his script for the pilot, which will happen on Syfy, the month after San Diego Comic Con. While talking Arrow with IGN, Kriesberg revealed that he will start working on the show before Christmas. Take a look at what he had to say below.

"I got a little waylaid by Arrow. Booster Gold is going in the next couple weeks before Christmas. We'll see what happens from there. It's such a different project even though they're both DC Comics properties. Booster is much more candy and popcorn, being about time travel and changing the future and being a superhero who can fly. But they're both super-fun projects. As a lifelong DC Comics fan, I am beyond blessed to be working on these projects with all these amazing characters."

So, not much progress on the series, however, it is nice to know that it is still alive. No casting announcement have happened yet, but when Kreisberg talked about the pilot he wrote he said that we can expect to see a lot of the characters from the Booster Gold comics. Check back here at CBM for the latest on Booster Gold's venture into television.

I was pleased with Geoff Johns's Smallville episode "Booster", in terms of how BG was done, and I would definitely check out a Booster Gold series, especially if it were on SyFy as I love Alphas. Warehouse 13 is pretty good too!

I hope it's a campy comedy, instead of series show but with a witty character dropping 1 liners. I know Booster is actually a character that CAN be taken seriously and has some series storylines, but i'm getting sick of the aforementioned serious show with witty front character shtick. Gimme some straight up live-action "Batman: the Brave and the Bold" kinda stuff!

*Serious. Silly me!

It will be crap.

I'm gonna lose all faith in everything that breathes if they turn it into a gritty, terminator-like drama...

I think Booster is just too cheesy of a character to make a successful tv series out of. I guess we will see.
SugarYumYum - 11/28/2012, 8:18 AM
@Getsuga: Agreed. Brave and the Bold is exactly the tone they should go for. It being on SyFy and not CW gives me hope that it should be decent if not good, should be a very fun tongue in cheek type of show.

If Bruce Campbell were 20 years younger, he'd be a hilarious Booster. Where's you at time machine.
CPIXLEY - 11/28/2012, 9:02 AM

If anyone is wondering how Booster might be handled in this series, watch the JLU episode, "The Greatest Story Never Told". Andrew Kreisberg wrote that episode.

there was a rumor about a tv series of the specter ... i hope they do that..
Logan276 - 11/28/2012, 12:50 PM
If they use a similar tone to warehouse 13 I could see it being a good fun show, theres no reason for everything to be dark and serious, plus syfy does light fun shows pretty well.
fawfulmark2 - 11/28/2012, 4:18 PM
add Rip Hunter and all will be well.
mgeoff88 - 11/28/2012, 8:43 PM
I almost forgot about this TV show. I'm glad it's still being worked on.

If the show is a huge success, it could inspire DC/WB to do a Booster Gold movie.
Hitboyj - 11/28/2012, 11:44 PM
Yey! WB Finally you take action. And yup a movie would be great, I really like the Booster gold in batman : brave and the bold series
